❓ What do these grades mean?
We do not issue this rating to attack the speaker, but to protect the listener. This ministry's overall teaching trend consistently deviates from sound doctrine. As per Romans 16:17, we identify these patterns so believers can guard their hearts.
🧐 Overview
Theological Verdict & Summary
Sermon Summary: A passionate call to surrender to God's power and sovereignty, challenged by critical theological errors regarding salvation and the nature of God.
Pastoral Analysis: The sermon demonstrates strong pastoral passion and cultural engagement, effectively using illustrations to highlight God's majesty. However, it is fundamentally compromised by a synergistic view of salvation that places the burden of decision on the sinner, and a truncated view of God that minimizes His righteous wrath. These errors require immediate correction to ensure the Gospel is preached accurately.
Biblical Parallel (Archetype): Sardis — The sermon presents a 'name that it is alive, but is dead' orthodoxy. While it utilizes biblical language, it fundamentally undermines the Gospel by teaching Synergistic Soteriology (Decisionism) and misinterpreting the nature of God. The reliance on human decision for salvation and the minimization of God's wrath indicate a spiritual deadness where the core power of the Gospel is absent.
Big Idea: God is Elohim (Powerful), Yahweh (Personal), and Adonai (Sovereign); believers must recognize His power, embrace His personal care, and surrender their lives to His lordship. [00:05:00 ▶️ 📄]

🧭 Biblical Alignment Dashboard
Overall Verdict: Fundamentally in Error
| Category | Status | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Gospel Presentation | ❌ FAIL | The Gospel Engine is broken. The sermon promotes Synergistic Soteriology, teaching that salvation is achieved through a human prayer and decision rather than God's sovereign grace. This is a fatal error that removes the power of the Gospel. |
| Soteriology | ❌ FAIL | The sermon teaches Decisionism, asserting that salvation is contingent upon a human act of will (praying a prayer/lifting a hand) rather than God's monergistic work. |
| Bibliology | ⚠️ WEAK | The hermeneutic applied to the name 'Elohim' is grammatically incorrect, misinterpreting an intensive plural as a Trinitarian proof-text. |
| Hermeneutic | ⚠️ WEAK | The interpretation of Old Testament Hebrew grammar is forced to support a systematic conclusion, ignoring standard linguistic consensus. |
| Theology Proper | ⚠️ WEAK | The sermon minimizes the doctrine of Divine Wrath, presenting a therapeutic view of God that lacks the balance of His holiness and justice. |
| Sacramentology | ✅ PASS | No sacramental errors were detected in the report. |
| Confessional Depth | ❌ SHALLOW | The sermon relies on emotional appeals and cultural metaphors rather than deep, orthodox theological exposition. |
⚙️ The Core Gospel Framework
Why it matters for the final verdict: A complete Gospel framework protects a sermon from becoming man-centered. If a preacher gives commands for good behavior but leaves out the grace and atonement of the Gospel, it often results in a 🔴 Critical or 🟠 Major error for Moralism (teaching human self-improvement rather than reliance on Christ). However, if these Gospel elements are missing simply because the pastor is preaching a highly focused, practical message to mature believers (e.g., instructions on biblical marriage), our system applies a "Safe Harbor" pardon, graciously reducing the omission to a 🟡 Minor error.
✅ The Law And Wrath:
"I'm not some tyrant and some dictator that sits on clouds in heaven, ruling and reigning with lightning bolts and gavels slamming down in judgment." [00:27:10 ▶️ 📄]
❌ Total Depravity And Inability: Not observed in the sermon.
❌ Active Obedience Of Christ: Not observed in the sermon.
✅ The Cross And Atonement:
"I made you and I bought you with my blood so you could be a son and daughter of a living God." [00:22:08 ▶️ 📄]
⚠️ Theological Concerns
🔴 Critical Synergistic Soteriology (Decisionism)
Root Cause: Decisionism / Arminianism
"Lord Jesus, I'm not perfect, but I believe in you. Save me. Change me. I give you my life... If you prayed that prayer all across our campuses right now, I want you to lift your hand... I just gave my life to Jesus. We're clapping all across our campuses. Welcome to the family of God." [00:41:20 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: He frames this human action as the transactional mechanism for salvation, stating, 'I just gave my life to Jesus... Welcome to the family of God.'
Why It's Dangerous: This teaches that salvation is dependent on human will and cooperation (synergism) rather than God's sovereign grace, effectively nullifying the Gospel.
Biblical Correction: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
🔴 Critical Trinitarian Hermeneutical Error (Elohim Plurality)
Root Cause: Grammatical Misinterpretation
"the word elohim is crazy y'all if you actually look at it in the original language elohim is plural plural it's the trinity of god on display god the father god the son god the holy spirit" [00:13:52 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: He asserts that the plural form of Elohim is 'the trinity of god on display,' citing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Why It's Dangerous: This is a grammatically and theologically incorrect interpretation that misleads the congregation about the nature of God and the proper method of biblical exegesis.
Biblical Correction: Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD. (Deuteronomy 6:4)
🟠 Major Minimization of Divine Wrath and Judicial Judgment
Root Cause: Therapeutic Deism
"I'm not some tyrant and some dictator that sits on clouds in heaven, ruling and reigning with lightning bolts and gavels slamming down in judgment. I'm a God of grace. I'm a God of mercy." [00:27:10 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: He dismisses God's wrath as tyrannical, saying, 'I'm not some tyrant and some dictator... I'm a God of grace. I'm a God of mercy.'
Why It's Dangerous: This creates a truncated view of God, removing the necessary balance of His holiness and justice, which is essential for understanding the cross.
Biblical Correction: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. (Romans 1:18)
🟡 Minor Minimization of Divine Judicial Wrath
Root Cause: Therapeutic Deism
"I'm not some tyrant and some dictator that sits on clouds in heaven, ruling and reigning with lightning bolts and gavels slamming down in judgment." [00:27:10 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: He dismisses the imagery of divine judgment to emphasize mercy.
Why It's Dangerous: This minimizes the biblical doctrine of God's righteous wrath and justice.
Biblical Correction: The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. (Nahum 1:3)
✅ Commendations
Pastoral Care | Compassionate Engagement with the Marginalized
The pastor effectively demonstrated pastoral heart by sharing his visit to the incarceration facility and validating the dignity of those with criminal records, showing that God's grace extends to all.
Illustration | Effective Use of Cultural Metaphors
The use of local cultural references (Spurs, fireworks) and personal anecdotes (spam calls, luxury cars) made the abstract concepts of God's sovereignty and identity relatable to the congregation.

[00:00:00] Come on church, could we clap our hands together. So glad to see you. We are one house, one faith, one Savior, one baptism, and one team called the San Antonio Spurs, ladies and gentlemen, and it's a great day to be in the house of the Lord. And there's a big difference between being a fan and a fanatic. And I'm not just talking about cheering for a team, I'm talking about the reality when a team does so well, and I believe there's a lot more to accomplish in the next few days,
[00:00:30] I just believe that one of the things that we're seeing and celebrating as a city is the significance of what victory feels like.
[00:00:39] And I think for us as the people of God, and Pastor Hutch has already said it at this particular campus, we're broadcasting to North, South, East, and West, our multiple sites, also to over 4,000 incarceration facilities that allow us to say this, that Jesus is victorious in
[00:00:55] all things.
[00:00:55] And if that is true, then we cannot be ashamed to rep Jesus.
[00:00:59] We cannot be ashamed to honk for Jesus.
[00:01:02] We cannot, come on, we cannot be ashamed to light off some bootleg fireworks in the name of Jesus.
[00:01:10] Y'all with me?
[00:01:11] Come on, I'm talking about what's happening in our city.
[00:01:15] You know, you know things are going well, man, when you got t-shirt companies popping up left and right, no licensing, just putting the face of the Spurs all over it and we're like, who cares?
[00:01:26] We're winning.
[00:01:26] But I just wanna remind us today as the people of God, The devil has been defeated.
[00:01:32] Jesus rules and reigns.
[00:01:34] He is King, Lord forever.
[00:01:40] And I gotta say this.
[00:01:41] The reason why I begin the sermon today like that is because there's always people that will make comments on social media.
[00:01:47] A pastor should not be wearing a jersey while he preaches.
[00:01:51] God bless you.
[00:01:53] I don't call you on Monday complaining about your khakis and your button up, right?
[00:01:57] So I just let the man of God wear what he wants to wear.
[00:02:03] in jesus name all right let the man of god wear what he wants to wear i don't worship the spurs but dear god can we just have fun without everybody commenting on everything that we do
[00:02:16] are y'all with me come on can i just take a moment and just go dear god can we laugh a little bit have some fun keep the main thing the spurs aren't an idol dear god i know they're not my savior but
[00:02:32] it's fun. Listen, I've never cared more about a city until I moved to this city. I'm not from here, y'all. I wasn't raised here, but I feel like my whole life led me here. When you span across
[00:02:47] our city and you see the excitement, man, what a beautiful day to be alive. And what a beautiful reason to come to church today. Not because of the spurs, but because of the fact that we
[00:02:55] rule and reign with him forever victorious. Come on. Can we clap one more time together?
[00:03:00] glad you're here glad you're here if you're here for the first time welcome to cbc we we have a lot of fun we love we love to celebrate we love to dance we love to shout some of you probably
[00:03:12] sitting behind me in this particular row is like dear god this man is filled with some red bull energy today and and it's it's not because of a game last night it's because of the fact that
[00:03:21] the honor and the privilege to come before god across multiple locations and say jesus jesus is the hope of the world. I was in an incarceration facility yesterday. Praise God. They let me out.
[00:03:34] Right. I was, but man, to be able, and I want to say this out loud because there are men that are behind the wire right now that their families, come on. Some of you are lifting your
[00:03:45] hands. They go to this church and I had men walk up to me. We baptized over 45 men yesterday morning at the Torres unit. And I'm going to tell you something. I know y'all don't think I'm a big
[00:04:02] deal, but I'm a big deal in prison. All right. I'm a big deal in prison. These dudes are walking up to me like pastor Ed, man, we get you. You make us feel like God is not done with us. And I said,
[00:04:15] Hey man, listen to me. It's CBC. That's what God's doing here. And many of which walked up to me and said, pastor, my wife goes, my girlfriend goes, my family goes, I can't wait to get out and come
[00:04:29] to cbc and for anybody that goes man that makes me feel uncomfortable got some felons in church aren't you grateful for grace and mercy aren't you grateful come on i'm talking to my incarcerated brothers and sisters god's not done with your story the bible's filled with people that made
[00:04:49] some mistakes along the way and got changed by the name of jesus a god of second chances i love but come on, talk to me today.
[00:04:58] Talk to me today, a God of second chances.
[00:05:00] But we gotta talk about his name, the name of God.
[00:05:03] Let me set this up today.
[00:05:04] We're in a new sermon series called Hallowed Be Your Name, talking about the names of God.
[00:05:09] Let me set this up.
[00:05:10] How many of you are just like sick to death of spam calls besides me?
[00:05:14] Like I cannot handle this no more.
[00:05:16] I'm gonna lose my ever loving mind.
[00:05:18] Praise God for the fact that my phone, probably your phone does the same things like spam call.
[00:05:22] You're like decline in Jesus name.
[00:05:24] come on bless you block you that's what I'm doing bless you block you you're like that's so insensitive I don't care all right so but but I just every once in a while and I just wonder if
[00:05:40] is there anybody like me that sometimes a spam call get through like you you take the call and they're like it's clear there you're like I think you got the wrong number they're like well while
[00:05:49] I have you anybody got a phone call with while I have you anybody else besides me like man you didn't call for Claire. You just made up a name and hope that you could segue the conversation
[00:06:01] and all of that. And this had this moment. And I was like, real kind, of course, I didn't just hang up on the dude. I was like, Hey man, you got the wrong number, brother. Hope you have a great
[00:06:10] day. And I want to just say this out loud. You're not going to get me. If you don't know me by name, you with me, if you calling me by the wrong name, you ain't going to get me
[00:06:18] on a phone call like that. And I had this moment where the Holy spirit of God, come on. I'm a real simple dude. God drops messages in my mailbox. It was a moment of like, God was like, you ain't
[00:06:27] going to get me if you don't call me by the right name. Can I say that again? God goes, you ain't going to get me if you don't call me by the right name. And we got to talk about the name of God.
[00:06:37] Now we're looking at three foundational names, right? I need you to participate. Come on, say Elohim. Say Yahweh. Say Adonai. Come on, let's say it with a little bit more energy. Elohim.
[00:06:48] Yahweh. Adonai. These are the foundational names of God. Now before he's Jehovah Nissi, which is the Lord is victorious. Before he's Jehovah Shalom, the God of my peace. Before he's Jehovah Rapha, he is my healer. Before he is Jehovah Shalom, he is my peace. Before he is Jehovah Sid
[00:07:05] Kudnu, he is my righteousness. He is Elohim. He is Yahweh. He is Adonai. Three points I want you to write down today. Point number one, I want you to write it down. We see the powerful name of God.
[00:07:19] It's Elohim. It's 2,500 times mentioned in the Old Testament. I want to show you this beginning in Genesis chapter 1. Y'all with me today? Come on, say amen. Genesis chapter 1, verse 1. In the
[00:07:31] beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. But if we're actually looking at it in the Hebrew language, in the beginning, Elohim. The word Elohim means strong, mighty, powerful, full, sufficient, sovereign, great. Here is the promise of God. No one greater, no one stronger. When we
[00:07:51] look at Genesis 1, I just want to read this to us today. When we read in Genesis 1, the word God, Hebrew Bible, it's Elohim. Genesis 1.3, an Elohim said. In Genesis 1.6, an Elohim said. In Genesis
[00:08:06] 1.9, an Elohim said. In Genesis 1.11, an Elohim said. In Genesis 1.14, an Elohim said. In Genesis 1 20 and Elohim said in Genesis 1 22 and Elohim said in Genesis 1 26 and Elohim said let us make
[00:08:22] man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over all the livestock that's a verse for all you hunters out there in
[00:08:34] Jesus name come on mount that thing mount it don't send me an email about that stuff all right come on. Just this, this, the word of God. But what we see is the Bible says that man has dominion over
[00:08:49] the earth, but God has dominion over man. And what will happen in your life? I've not said this in any other service. The enemy, Satan himself will try to reverse the order that you are above God.
[00:09:02] Matter of fact, you don't need God. You are God, dear God. Can I just say this out loud to somebody?
[00:09:06] You ain't God. I ain't God, but we live in a world that believes in multiple gods. That's called pluralism. We live in a world that also believes that everything is God. The sun is God. The moon
[00:09:17] is God. The stars are God. The water is God. Listen to me. There is a paganistic mindset in the world today that God came from creation. That's why people call it mother earth. Can I say this to
[00:09:30] you? Mother earth is not my God. I got a God that spoke the earth into existence. I got a God that spoke the stars into existence. I got a God that speaks the universe into existence and watch this.
[00:09:42] The Latin phrase is ex nihilo out of nothing. God speaks the world into existence. I know our textbooks in our public schools and praise God for Christian teachers. Praise God for Christian administrators. Praise God for Christian life coaches along the way to come alongside our
[00:10:00] students and just remind them that they were made for something so much more. But I need us to understand. Our textbook will say, big bang theory, evolution, two chemical components collided together, thus the universe. One question to you, scientists in the room, watching online at one of
[00:10:18] our campuses, where did the two chemical components come from that collided together, that makes all of this? Can I say, that sounds like chaos to me. That sounds like disorder to me, but there's a God
[00:10:33] that lets the sun rise every day and sunset every day. And I don't know if you know this, but we're on a rock called earth third from the sun. And yes, Pluto is still a planet in Jesus
[00:10:45] name. I don't care what nobody says. You're like, it's a star. No, it's a planet. And I want to just say this out loud, whether it's a star or a planet, I'm just gonna call it a planet, but there's a God
[00:10:56] that put it right where it hangs and it does not move. And do you know the earth is rotating at a thousand miles per hour as we're sitting here today. We don't even need a seatbelt, y'all.
[00:11:07] I mean, think about this. We're 92 million miles from the earth. Come on. It feels like it's like we're right next to the sun in the summertime. But can I say this out loud? Do you know if the sun
[00:11:17] tilted one degree towards the planet earth, we fry? Do you know if the, if the sun tilts one degree away from the earth, we freeze. We live on a privileged planet. We live in the reality that
[00:11:29] God, God who needed nothing spoke the universe into existence. And this God, listen to me. If this God could speak the universe into existence, then is there anything he can't do? This is why Elohim is the first word of a description because as the target statement says, the names of God
[00:11:49] are not just titles or testimonies. Oh, somebody received that today. If he's Elohim, if he's Elohim, he could do the supernatural. If he's Elohim, he operates outside of time, space and place. If he's Elohim, he could do things that no one else can do. If he's Elohim, he makes a way
[00:12:07] where there seems to be no way. When he's Elohim, you might be in a situation where you feel stuck and nobody could get you out, but Elohim could get you out of that situation. Elohim is the strong,
[00:12:17] powerful matchless sovereign sustainer glorious name that he is able to do all things and there's nothing he can't do that's elohim can we clap together would that be all right that's elohim now let me read something to you all right let me read something to you a little commercial break
[00:12:36] for just a second i wrote down some names that when you hear this name it automatically makes you think of something michael jordan basketball steve jobs apple jeff bezos amazon albert einstein intelligence. Mother Teresa, compassion. Elon Musk, Tesla. Muhammad Ali, boxing. Walt Disney,
[00:12:54] imagination. Dr. Martin Luther King, justice. I have a dream. Beethoven, music. Michael Jackson, just saw the movie. Dear God, I was dancing in the theater. Makes you think of music. King of pop.
[00:13:10] Spurs, Western Conference champions, 2026. Come on, y'all. I'm going to get it in every part of this sermon, but all of those things are true. Watch this because every name I mentioned did something when they were born. Yes, they were talented, but they did not become known by their
[00:13:32] name until they accomplished something. But before the universe was created, God, before there was a star, God, before there was a sun, God, before there was a moon, God, before water, God, before us, god god has always been god but the word elohim is crazy y'all if you actually look at it in the
[00:13:52] original language elohim is plural plural it's the trinity of god on display god the father god the son god the holy spirit there are many people that believe in multiple gods there are other religions that teach there's over 300 000 gods how do you keep track of your god if there's
[00:14:10] 300 000 gods you got a rolodex of gods and you're going through some stuff you don't you're like I don't know which God to get to. Can I say everything I need is in one God. Everything
[00:14:20] I'm hoping for is in one God. I know right where to go in a God that's able to do the supernatural.
[00:14:26] His name is Elohim. He's able to do things in your life you couldn't do for you. And some of you got the diagnosis. Some of you got a situation going on. It's a financial situation. It could be a
[00:14:36] marriage. It could be the fact I need a husband. I need a wife. Can I get a witness from anybody else in the room. This is a great place to meet somebody in Jesus name. They're like, how you
[00:14:45] doing? Holy woman of God. But can I say this to you? There's a God, a God who not only is powerful enough to do the unthinkable, the unexplainable, what seems impossible, but there's also a God that
[00:15:01] knows you by name. This is the word Yahweh. But just to make sure we got Elohim. Come on. Can we say Elohim? Second word, Yahweh. Say Yahweh. Now, when we look at the word Yahweh, the word Yahweh,
[00:15:12] point number two, write this down, is the personal name of God. The Elohim that we just spoke of is the powerful name of God. Number two, Yahweh is the personal name of God. Over 7,000 times is the
[00:15:22] word Yahweh used in the Old Testament. Do you know that the scribes who wrote the scripture, do you know every time they wrote the word Yahweh, they would use a new pen and take a bath?
[00:15:31] y'all that's a lot of pens and a lot of baths seven thousand times do you know that out of fear and reverence towards the name of Yahweh they would not spell it in its entirety because
[00:15:43] y-h-y-a-h-w-e-h is Yahweh and they would remove the a and the e and would spell y-h-w-h out of fear of of being irreverent they would only abbreviate the name and every time they wrote the name, new pen, and they would take a bath out of the statement. This name is holy,
[00:16:05] but the word Yahweh means that he's personal. Now it's interesting to me when, when we are in Genesis chapter two, verse seven, if you'll just turn the page in your scripture and in Genesis chapter two, verse seven, Genesis chapter one, we got a God that speaks the galaxies into existence.
[00:16:20] And in Genesis chapter two, we got a God that walks in the garden. Hello. We've got a God that's able to speak the universe into existence, but check out Genesis chapter two, verse seven, then the Lord God, do you see it on the screen all across our campuses? The Lord God, that's Yahweh
[00:16:36] Elohim combined together, the personal powerful name of God. Then Yahweh Elohim formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathe into his nostrils, the breath of life. And the man became a living creature. Genesis chapter two, verse 18. Then the Lord God Yahweh Elohim said, it's not
[00:16:55] good that man should be alone i will make a helper fit for him genesis 2 verse 21 then yahweh elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon man and while he slept he took one of his ribs closed it up in
[00:17:08] his place with flesh and the rib that the lord god yahweh elohim had taken from man he made into woman and brought her to man you go past red why are you telling us this because up to this moment
[00:17:18] god is speaking and god said and god said and god said and god said from nothing comes something and then God pumps the brakes, scoops up dirt and makes man. And can I just ask you a simple question
[00:17:31] holding my hand like this? Don't you think God could have said, Adam come into existence, Eve come into existence, but we got a God that gets low and scoops up dirt. And the word form
[00:17:44] literally is the same word that's used as a potter forms and fashions clay. And from the rib of Adam, he makes Eve. Why? Because woman is not over man and man is not over woman, but side by
[00:17:58] side, we walk together, shoulder to shoulder. We walk this thing out equal before God made the image of God, black, brown, white, regardless of your color, your creed, we are made in the image of God. Now watch this. God speaks animals into existence. God speaks vegetation into existence,
[00:18:22] but he actually physically, according to scripture for the first time in all of history, God touches something. He touched it. Why? Because he wanted you to know that you are not the product of happenstance. You are not the product of just random chance. A God that has the power as Elohim
[00:18:43] could have spoke you into existence, but he took, Ooh God, but he took his time when he made you, He formed and fashioned you in your mother's womb.
[00:18:53] He put your sinews together, your ligaments together, your skin together, your organs together.
[00:18:58] All of you, listen to me, you are not your past.
[00:19:02] You are a God that has spoken your future before your existence.
[00:19:07] And before you existed, God knew you.
[00:19:10] And watch this.
[00:19:11] And while he made you, he put a soul inside of you that you were made to live for all eternity.
[00:19:19] but I'm broken hearted that our world cares more about animals and plants than it does humans.
[00:19:26] There are more criminal, criminal laws enforced and we should preserve the earth and we should care for vegetation and we should care for animals at some level. Please understand me, but humanity is above plants and above animals. And listen to me, animals have more rights than
[00:19:46] babies. Oh, I know that's offensive to some people, but I'm going to stand on this stage, 10 toes down and say, if God, listen to me, if God, if God made it, if God made you,
[00:20:04] you are made in the image of God. Jesus was asked the question, come on, let me riff for just a second. Jesus asked the question, is it lawful to pay taxes? I wish he'd have said something
[00:20:13] different. Can I get a witness from anybody else? I wish Jesus had been like, no, I'll stick it to the government. Right. So, but man, he was like, nah, he's like, bring me a coin. And what does
[00:20:23] Jesus, what does Jesus ask? He goes, whose image is on the coin? And they all said, what Caesar rendered to Caesar, what belongs to Caesar. But then Jesus said something that I think is more
[00:20:33] than just a tithing message. He goes, but render to God, what belongs to God? What was he saying?
[00:20:39] Whoever's image is on it. That's who it belongs to. So render to Caesar, what belongs to Caesar, Caesar's image is on it, but then he goes, but render to God what belongs to God. And can I tell
[00:20:52] you who has the image of God upon? It's us, you, me, every person on the earth, whether you like them or not, whether they vote the way you vote or not, or cheer for your team, our team or not.
[00:21:12] God, thank you that you love Oklahoma. I struggle, God. I just struggle. But God, you love them.
[00:21:24] Don't send me no messages, Oklahoma. I'm just telling you. But all I want to say is this.
[00:21:29] There's a God that's wild about you, personal with you. And do you know that he is not only Elohim? Because if you only know him as Elohim, strong, mighty, powerful overall, but he's not personal with you, he doesn't know you, he doesn't know your pains, your needs, your struggles,
[00:21:49] your longings, your dreams, then isn't it maybe particular to somebody going, man, that feels like a dictator. That feels like a tyrant. That feels like somebody with a lot of power that doesn't really care about people. But watch how God tenderly goes, I am Elohim,
[00:22:08] but I'm Yahweh and I care about you. I made you and I bought you with my blood so you could be a son and daughter of a living God. Now watch this. Come on. Can we clap together for just a few
[00:22:25] seconds just to go, God, thank you that you're Yahweh. Thank you that you care about me. We actually see this. Now I want to show you, can I just nerd out for just a second? Thank you for
[00:22:35] saying yes up to this point genesis chapter one elohim elohim elohim elohim elohim and then we get into genesis chapter two it is yahweh elohim yahweh elohim yahweh elohim powerful personal god but watch what the devil does in genesis chapter three verse one y'all still listen to say amen
[00:22:54] now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the lord god had made Yahweh Elohim had made. And then listen to verse one. And he said to the woman, did God actually
[00:23:10] say, did Elohim actually say, you shall not eat of any tree in the garden. And the woman said to the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but Elohim said, you shall not eat
[00:23:24] of the fruit of the tree that's in the midst of the garden garden. Neither you shall you touch, touch it lest you die watch this up to this point Yahweh Elohim Yahweh Elohim Yahweh Elohim and then
[00:23:36] the devil comes on the scene you go you got to ask the question you're like pastor Ed how is it that God would let the devil into this into the garden well first and foremost understand the
[00:23:46] devil was not originally the devil the devil was Lucifer an angelic being that was leading worship in heaven now this is according to Isaiah 14 scripture always complements scripture and so you watch Lucifer, who is an angelic being who wants to be like the most high God. Do you know
[00:24:03] what the most high God means? El Elyon, the greatest. He wants to be above Elohim. God looks at Satan, who is Lucifer in the story and goes, there's only one Elohim and it ain't you. And
[00:24:15] based upon that, he rebels, that is Lucifer rebels and one third of the angels fall to the earth and they become demons. Now don't be discouraged by that because there's still two to one, two thirds
[00:24:26] of the angels stay in heaven that serve as, as messengers and guardians. Anybody else like me, my guardian angels busy, busy, but I need you to know that what we have to reveal is we got to
[00:24:40] expose the playbook of the devil, what the devil does. Come on. I want you to listen to me. Y'all still listen and say, amen. The devil looks at Eve slides into her DMS, come on, slides into her DMS.
[00:24:53] and all of a sudden in that moment tries to have this intimate conversation like, hey, Eve, Elohim, Elohim said you should not eat from the tree of knowledge, good and evil.
[00:25:09] And Eve responds back and yeah, Elohim said that.
[00:25:12] But watch this, Genesis two, it's been Yahweh Elohim.
[00:25:17] You're like, Pastor Ed, I'm not understanding what you're saying.
[00:25:19] The devil does not deny the existence of Elohim.
[00:25:24] The devil knows fully who God is, but watch what he says to Eve. He ain't Yahweh. He don't care about you. If he cared about you, then he would not have forbidden this tree from you. Are you
[00:25:38] picking up what I'm laying down? God is powerful, but Eve, he ain't personal. He just makes a lot of rules with the expectation of your obedience. But Eve, you got some needs. You got some desires
[00:25:54] this tree looks really good and Elohim says you can't have it he removes the word Yahweh why because I think the same tactic of the devil come on let me talk to somebody today the tactic of
[00:26:07] the devil is the same that God yeah he's powerful but he ain't personal he don't care about you he cares about everybody else but you your mistakes have caused him not to be personal with you any longer listen to me that's a lie from the devil God is Elohim powerful but at the
[00:26:23] same time, he'll never leave you nor forsake you. This is the word of God today. And let the word wash over your heart today. Come on, let the word wash over your heart. The eyes of Yahweh
[00:26:35] are towards the righteous and his ears are towards their cry. It is the Lord Yahweh, your God, who will go with you and will not leave you nor forsake you. The Lord Yahweh. Oh, we love some Psalm 23 verse one, don't you? The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. Do you
[00:26:53] know the word Lord is Yahweh. Yahweh is my shepherd. I shall not want. And we have a God that goes, I am powerful enough to do the supernatural and the miraculous that nobody can explain. And yes, I could speak the word and everything changes. But at the same time,
[00:27:10] I'm not some tyrant and some dictator that sits on clouds in heaven, ruling and reigning with lightning bolts and gavels slamming down in judgment. I'm a God of grace. I'm a God of mercy.
[00:27:22] I walk with you, as my brother shouted out, a God of second chances. This is a God who not only gets you, but actually desires to be involved in the details of your life because he wants to guide you,
[00:27:35] lead you, and help you understand the significance of a personal relationship with him. And let me explain it this way. When my kids were little and there was a storm or they heard a sound or there
[00:27:47] was a moment where they had a bad dream. How many of you have some kids that when that happened, they came down the stairs or went down the hallway and jumped in bed with you? Can I get a witness
[00:27:57] from somebody? Now, listen to me. When my kids were little, Stephanie and I raising some babies together. I need you to know when they had a bad dream or a storm, or they heard a sound, man,
[00:28:06] we had the house alarmed. Every door, every window was sensors and alarms. Man, I had a gun. Y'all Second Amendment right in Jesus' name, right? You know what I'm saying? Protecting the house.
[00:28:18] Protecting the house. But you know, none of those things mattered to my kids. They wanted to get in the bed. Why? Because I am afraid. What calmed the fear of our children? Was it not our presence?
[00:28:37] How many of you, the moment in their fear, your kids climbed in the bed and all of a sudden just kind of squeezed in between you mom and dad and immediately were asleep within five seconds
[00:28:46] snoring drooling everything they had twitching michael jackson thriller up in the bed you know i'm talking about and all the dudes we had to hit the couch because our kids and took up all the bed
[00:28:56] but listen to me why is it that they feel so much peace was it the was it the alarm panel on the wall was it the smith smith and wesson no it was the presence of mom and dad watch this god is
[00:29:11] powerful to protect you, shield you. He is the one who proclaims no weapon formed against you shall prosper. He's the one that fights your battles. He's strong and mighty at the same time goes and calms every fear in your heart. And can I tell you what the devil wants you to believe?
[00:29:33] He doesn't do this for you because you've sinned too much or you ain't cleaned up your life like you were supposed to. And instead the devil goes, he ain't got time for you. That's a lie from the
[00:29:45] devil. Matter of fact, speaking of my kids, this is what the devil would say to my children.
[00:29:53] Dr. Newton doesn't care about you. Oh, he's got authority. But watch what the devil does.
[00:30:01] Just uses titles of authority and takes away the word dad. This is what the devil does.
[00:30:09] yes gives him authority he's strong and mighty but he is not involved in the details of your life and matter of fact he's too busy he ain't got time for you this is not from God he's Elohim
[00:30:25] come on say Elohim he's Yahweh come on say Yahweh but the third word we got to look at is the word Adonai come on say Adonai now point number three we see the possessive name of God Adonai
[00:30:35] now when we look at the word adonai it's in genesis chapter 15 genesis chapter 15 there's a guy named abraham in genesis chapter 15 verse 1 it says after these things the word of the lord
[00:30:45] came to abram in a vision fear not abram i am your shield i am your reward and your reward shall be very great the word lord here is yahweh after these things the word of the lord yahweh
[00:30:59] came to abraham but watch verse two y'all still listening check this out but abram said oh lord god adonai yahweh i want to teach you how to read your bible y'all still listening say yeah
[00:31:11] come on when you see the word capital l capital o capital r capital d in our english translation that's yahweh when you see capital l lowercase o lowercase r lowercase d that's adonai the word
[00:31:25] Adonai means master and king, ruler and reigner of all things. You are in charge and we are your servants. You call the shots. You're the boss. You're the manager. You rule and reign above all
[00:31:41] things. I am your servant. Abraham says this to God. Oh Lord God, Adonai Yahweh, what will you give me for I continue to be childless and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus which
[00:31:58] by the way is a servant he goes God you told me to look up to the skies and as numerous as the stars are shall be my lineage and my legacy but God I got a problem we old I can't I I can't
[00:32:13] explain this God except for the fact that my wife and I are unable to have children my wife has been barren and watch what happens. Abram, Sarah, hear the promise of God. Abram, who we know as Abraham
[00:32:25] says, Adonai Yahweh, I am your servant. I will go where you tell me to go. I will leave my homeland and I will go to a promised land that you have for future generations. I will walk away from all
[00:32:39] things, but I will choose to follow you. But what is he saying? You're not only Elohim, powerful God.
[00:32:45] You're not only Yahweh, personal God, but you are, you are Adonai. I am your servant and you call the shots. And I want to just say this to you because I love you and you got to receive this
[00:32:55] today. I know so many Christians that go, yes, Elohim, yes, Yahweh. But when it comes to Adonai being in charge and calling the shots in your life, you're like, I can't get down with that
[00:33:06] because it's my life, my dreams, my goals, my demands. It's like the dude that rented a car that all of a sudden came back.
[00:33:15] He rented a luxury vehicle, loved it so much.
[00:33:17] He was like, hey, he pulled it back into the rental car stall and he told the attendant, he goes, it's my car.
[00:33:24] How crazy does that sound?
[00:33:25] It's my car.
[00:33:27] He all of a sudden goes, I like the car.
[00:33:29] She's like, it ain't your car.
[00:33:31] She's like, he's like, man, I look good in the car.
[00:33:33] She's like, it ain't your car.
[00:33:35] He's like, I know where all the buttons are in the car.
[00:33:37] It's my car.
[00:33:38] She goes, it ain't your car.
[00:33:39] She goes, there's a big difference between you possessing something and owning it.
[00:33:43] And I need to say this to somebody today. We do this to a powerful God that allows us to exist on the earth. And I need you to hear me. God is Elohim, strong and mighty, and he's got no rivals,
[00:33:55] no contenders. There are no other gods except for Elohim, Yahweh, but understand he's Adonai.
[00:34:04] And when he's Adonai, I need you to know this is how silly this sounds. Nobody would ever rent a car and take it back and go, it's mine. But do you know that we do this to God? We're like, God,
[00:34:15] it's my breath. It's my family. It's my kids. It's my health. It's my body. It's my sexuality.
[00:34:22] It's my future. It's my watch. It's my sneakers. It's my stuff. It's my retirement. And God's like, I'm Elohim and I'm Yahweh. And I've never left you nor forsake you. And the breath you're breathing right now. God goes, I gave to you. Ain't nothing yours. Ain't nothing yours. And
[00:34:41] listen to me. I love you too much. Don't let the size of this church make you feel like this is cotton candy up in here. We preach the meat of God's word up in this church. And I need you to
[00:34:54] understand something. We ain't trying to build a crowd. The calling on my life is to confront casual Christianity, that we would be people that would go, yeah, we're going to sing about you, Elohim. We're going to celebrate you Yahweh. But when I'm overwhelmed by your power and I'm
[00:35:13] overwhelmed by your personal presence that you want something to do with me, though I have a tendency to get in the way, you still want to use me for your glory. So God, I come before you as
[00:35:24] Adonai and I go, my hands are yours. My feet are yours. My mind is yours. My eyes are yours. My ears are yours everything I have is yours nothing is mine God I serve you but the problem is is that
[00:35:39] many of you go that sounds cruel that you're just going to give up all your stuff to him can I say this to you in the words of Dr. Phil man how's that working out for you bro
[00:35:51] you doing your thing let me just do me doing you got you where you're at and I'm gonna tell you man many of us have been there done that got the t-shirt and want to give it away we're like man
[00:36:03] we thought that was going to bring us some happiness. We thought that was going to bring us some joy. And listen, I ain't going to lie to you. Sin can be fun for a season,
[00:36:11] but man, it'll lead you to guilt and shame. And the devil wants to put shackles on shackles and shackles on top of you because he doesn't want you to live in your destiny. But if he's Elohim,
[00:36:24] he can break every chain in Jesus name. And if he's Yahweh, even though in my sin, he doesn't give up on me. He knows me by name. And if he could break every chain and he knows
[00:36:36] me, my name, it's not out of fear of this God. It's out of a willingness. As Isaiah said, here I am, Lord, here I am at a night. Send me my dreams, my desires, my demands. Listen,
[00:36:51] when I was 18 years old, I took a blank piece of paper with a Sharpie and I wrote my name at the bottom. And I said, as I signed my name to a blank piece of paper, God, you fill in the blanks. I'll
[00:37:01] do whatever you tell me to do. And I just wonder, could God get the victory in your life today?
[00:37:08] You know him as Elohim, you know him as Yahweh, but is he Adonai in your life? I love you, but you've got to hear this. Many people just want Jesus so their sins can be forgiven and they
[00:37:20] could die and go to heaven. Meanwhile, they live the life they want to live on this earth in direct rebellion to a king that saved you. But instead, if he saved you, changed you, then every day you
[00:37:32] wake up and go, God, I want to live for you. And if you tell me to do this, I'm going to do this.
[00:37:36] I ain't going to do this because I used to do this and I don't want to go back to this. And there's a whole lot of other people doing this and doing this. Ain't going to get this, this joy.
[00:37:48] Come on. Say it again, brother. Say it again, brother. Talk to me. Come on. Come on, dude.
[00:37:59] Come on. Two months sober. Tell me your name. Come on. Testify. Testify.
[00:38:23] Yes, sir. David, we are so proud. God has delivered you from 30 years.
[00:38:31] And David, come on, talk to me. We got nearly 3,000 people in this room and you just all of a sudden shouted out, shouted out that you've been sober for two months or 10 months, 10 months.
[00:38:47] 31 years isn't at it right there if he Elohim Yahweh Adonai could do it for him he could do it for you somebody ought to clap freedom is happening in this place the sermon is over
[00:39:12] thank you DJ for preaching the sermon today come on let's get up on your feet if he Elohim Yahweh Adonai could do it for DJ he could do it for you but what DJ had to do
[00:39:29] in his own life is go I can't rule and reign my life no more because my life me making myself in control has led me down this way but I'm giving my life to Elohim he could break every chain
[00:39:41] Yahweh is my personal savior and every day I wake up and go I am not leading my life he's leading my life he's Adonai and I want to say this to you because I love you
[00:39:51] you may know him as Elohim you may know him as, as Yahweh, but do you know him as Adonai? Have you surrendered? I know, I know a lot of people have given their lives to Jesus, but have you surrendered? I believe recommitments and
[00:40:03] repentance should be happening from Christians on this earth, in this room, across our campuses.
[00:40:09] God, forgive me for trying to rule my own life. You saved me and set me free. And I've been trying to do my own thing. God set me free by surrendering and submitting to you. See this conviction you're
[00:40:20] feeling right now makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable. It makes you feel uncomfortable because you know, some stuff's got to change. You know, some stuff's got to be different.
[00:40:30] And if you ain't careful, then what religion will tell you is that you got to figure this out. No, no, no. Watch this. It's Elohim who does it. He's powerful to break the chains. He's powerful to do
[00:40:42] the supernatural. And then when you feel so tired and so lonely and you're like, God, this is hard.
[00:40:47] Yahweh you're here with me you won't walk away from me and every day let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven let your will be done in San Antonio as it is in heaven what are we
[00:41:04] saying let Adonai reign in San Antonio let Adonai reign in CBC let Adonai reign in me come on can we clap together to that that'd be all right heads bowed eyes closed thank you DJ for somebody that
[00:41:20] wants to give their lives to Jesus. Heads bowed, eyes closed. We're going to pray this prayer in faith. Let's say this out loud together. Lord Jesus, I'm not perfect, but I believe in you.
[00:41:30] Save me. Change me. I give you my life. If you prayed that prayer all across our campuses right now, I want you to lift your hand. How many of you just go, Pastor Ed, I did that today. It's real.
[00:41:40] I just gave my life to Jesus. We're clapping all across our campuses. Welcome to the family of God.
