[00:10:10] Our scripture lesson this morning, I'm not going to be able to put it up so you have to follow along.
[00:10:16] It's in Philippians, the third chapter.

[00:10:22] verses 1 through 14 and it's the same one that we read last week and I want to make sure because sometimes I read from the NIV I want to make sure I read from the one that you all will be reading from so that we get the same word and the same message so Philippians the third chapter
[00:10:48] verses 1 through 14 reading from the New Living Translation and the scholars has put I think in the NIV version it would say put no confidence in the flesh now you know you know me I believe that's one of the traps of the church we put confidence in what we see what we believe what we think and the Bible said there is no good thing that dwells in the flesh
[00:11:15] And when I say it, don't beat up on me now, I'll just tell you what the word is saying.
[00:11:19] In the book of Jeremiah 17th chapter, I think it's verse 9, it says, The heart is deceitfully wicked, who can know it?
[00:11:27] So what it really is saying, I don't know all that was in this thing.
[00:11:32] So, oh Lord have mercy, I'm getting in trouble.
[00:11:34] So when people say, God knows my heart, I usually say, you got that right.
[00:11:40] Amen.
[00:11:41] He knows, but we don't always know what's in there.

[00:11:46] So, you know, that's not a negative to what they're saying, how much we need him.
[00:11:51] All right, anyway, so let's read from Philippians, the third chapter, verses 1 through 14 from the New Living Translation, the one I have entitled that the scholars put the priceless value of knowing Christ.
[00:12:07] Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord.
[00:12:11] I never get tired of telling you these things.
[00:12:16] I do it to safeguard your faith.
[00:12:20] Watch out for those dogs, those people who do evil, those mutilators who say you must be circumcised to be saved.
[00:12:31] For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised.
[00:12:38] We rely, here's the point, we rely on what Christ has done for us.
[00:12:43] That's all the Bible is trying to say.
[00:12:44] We rely on what Christ, not us.

[00:12:57] Though I could have confidence in my own effort, if anyone could.
[00:13:03] Indeed, if others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more.
[00:13:10] I was circumcised when I was eight days old.
[00:13:14] I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin, a real Hebrew.
[00:13:23] If there ever was one, I was a member of the Pharisees who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.
[00:13:33] I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church, and as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault.
[00:13:44] I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of that which Christ has done.
[00:13:53] Yes, everything else is worthless when compared to the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
[00:14:03] For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage.
[00:14:10] So that I could gain Christ and become one with Him, I no longer count my own efforts righteousness through obeying the law.
[00:14:24] Rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ.
[00:14:28] For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith.
[00:14:34] I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.
[00:14:42] I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death so that
[00:14:48] And so that one way or another, I will experience the resurrection from the dead.
[00:14:55] The word of God for the people of God.

[00:31:58] And our church captured those thoughts in our doctrine to make us understand how much we need Jesus.

[00:32:17] All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

[00:36:47] And Satan wants it, and that's a form of idolatry, because he wants us to think he's more than he is.

[00:37:19] What I did was something this morning and it's kind of like a slight detour but not a detour.
[00:37:27] The theme is living the high-impact life.
[00:37:32] But I think it's important to kind of redirect, if you will, or refocus on some things that I think are fundamental to our walk with God and how God set up his kingdom.

[00:39:10] But I want to start off by saying, first of all, God has what I call two types of children.
[00:39:16] Created and redeemed.
[00:39:22] And he wants there to be a difference
[00:39:26] between His created children and His redeemed children.
[00:39:31] Or maybe I should have said His redeemed children and His created children.
[00:39:36] We are children of the light.
[00:39:39] We may be going through the same thing, but we are able to handle it differently.

[00:39:49] God want to uptight and mad like the world would get, although we may go through the same thing.
[00:39:56] He want us to have assurance that He has our back and I'm not worried about how it's going to turn out because I already know how it's going to turn out.
[00:40:13] See, we wonder when we have the assurance, but then we sing the song, Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine.
[00:40:25] Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine.
[00:40:30] Did we sing it?
[00:40:36] So much of what we hear is what God is going to do.
[00:40:41] And my point is, he's done it.
[00:40:45] The ball is in our court.
[00:40:50] And what people are saying to us is, well, do this and do that and God's going to bless you.
[00:40:57] And I say, wrong!
[00:40:58] That's not the way he set it up.

He gave us his word and my obedience to his word will determine the outcome of my life.

For example,
[00:41:12] We know it's true in the natural.
[00:41:15] Your brother Stacy gives me directions to get to Statesville.
[00:41:22] And he said, let's just take the easy route.
[00:41:25] I know I can go another way, but let's go this route.
[00:41:28] He said, when you leave the church, turn right on Bradshaw.
[00:41:33] And you get down to Mooresville Road or 150, turn left.
[00:41:37] And take that all the way into UC 77 North.
[00:41:41] And I do this.
[00:41:42] All the opposite of what you said.
[00:41:45] Then I say, this is a bad direction.
[00:41:51] You told me how to get there.
[00:41:54] My job is to follow the direction that you gave me and I will arrive at the destination that I'm trying to get to.

[00:42:01] All I'm saying, church, is that God has promised you.
[00:42:04] He has given us His Word.
[00:42:06] He said, do this and do this and you will arrive.
[00:42:10] What we are hearing now is what God wants you to just give us some praise.

That's a lie from hell.

When the word is so simple, you tell me how to make a cake and put the flour in and then the eggs and milk, whatever, you know, all that stuff like that.

[00:43:13] Why is it a mess?
[00:43:14] Because I didn't follow the instruction.

I can pray, I can pray all day long, I can come to church, I can work in the church all day, but until I follow the direction and the instruction, I would, the cake would not turn out right.

[00:43:38] And I need to learn the Word of God so I can get the results that God intends for us to get.

I know that's very simple.
[00:43:50] See, Satan don't want us to know that.

[00:44:06] See, the church so busy pointing out there, not knowing he seeks to come in here and set himself up as God.

That's why people do what they do.

[00:44:42] For such people are false prophets, false apostles, deceitful workers masquerading as apostles of Christ, and no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

[00:45:06] That's why you're able to trick people with light.
[00:45:09] We get into the different names we call him for a reason.
[00:45:13] Satan, the devil, you know, a real name is Lucifer, which he was an angel of light.

[00:45:26] So you got to know what the name means.
[00:45:30] When the Bible says Satan or the devil, what is he talking about?
[00:45:34] What characteristics or what is his deception?
[00:45:38] How is he deceiving us?
[00:45:40] So he come to the church and masquerade as an angel of light.

Yeah, he'll put on a robe like I have on.

He'll wear anything that triggers.

[00:46:15] Let's say they get messed up by one pastor, the next pastor is going to catch hell.

[00:46:23] Because they can't tell the difference, so we're going to make sure this one don't take advantage of it like the last one did, and I'll mistreat this one because I can't tell the true one from the false one.

[00:46:34] And if I'm not careful, I'll treat the false one right, and I'll treat the true one wrong.

Same thing with pastors.

[00:46:46] If I don't know a true church, I'll treat the true church like a bad church and the right church like a good church.

[00:47:21] I have shined the light in their lives so that they can see the true and living God versus the false God.

[00:47:41] It's called to address these crazy issues that's going on in our nation now.
[00:47:51] Church, I keep saying, don't be surprised here if we end back up in slavery.
[00:48:03] Satan, the Bible says you got to understand Satan, he's going to foothold.
[00:48:08] Get a foot in the door.

[00:48:11] He'll make it worm his way all the way through.
[00:48:15] Think about what's going on.
[00:48:17] From the Department of Defense to defend ourselves, to the Department of War, we're going to be the aggressors.

Read Jeremiah and Isaiah, and especially Jeremiah, what got him in so much trouble with the kings of Israel.

Because he dealt with the issues of what was going on in the world.

[00:49:18] Do you not know the church has sanctioned the evils of this nation?
[00:49:22] The church sanctioned slavery?

[00:49:39] Jesus said to Peter, when he said, you know, when he asked him, who do people say that I am?

[00:49:50] Now, remember what we're teaching, what Paul is saying in this text.
[00:49:55] Paul said, I want to know Christ.

[00:50:08] And I got to understand what's in the context of knowing Christ.

[00:55:26] So he gave us his word, if you fully obey me, the blessings are already yours.
