The Danger of Moralism: Why Effort Cannot Replace Grace

While the sermon offers practical advice on holiness and forgiveness, it is theologically compromised by a complete omission of the Gospel. The teaching reduces Christianity to a system of moral striving and behavioral modification, failing to anchor these commands in the finished work of Christ and the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit. This approach risks leading believers into legalism and despair, as it implies that spiritual victory is achieved through human effort rather than divine grace.

🔍 Biblical Discernment: The 7 Church Parallels
The Faithful Parallels Smyrna • Philadelphia
Teaching that parallels the churches that endure suffering with true spiritual riches (Rev 2:9) and keep the Word of Christ without denial despite having "little strength" (Rev 3:8).
The Cold Orthodox Parallel Ephesus
Teaching that upholds doctrinal precision yet parallels the loss of the "first love"—the vital, motivating power of the Gospel (Rev 2:4).
The Compromised Parallel Pergamum
Teaching that parallels churches tolerating the "doctrine of Balaam" through cultural accommodation (Rev 2:14), characterized by weak boundaries, sloppy theology, and worldly compromise.
The Corrupted & Dead Parallels Thyatira • Sardis • Laodicea
Teaching that parallels churches with active heresy, synergism, therapeutic deism, or dead orthodoxy (Rev 2:20, Rev 3:1, Rev 3:17). These represent systemic, fundamental errors that corrupt the Gospel.
Why strictly "Mark & Avoid"?
We do not issue this rating to attack the speaker, but to protect the listener. This ministry's overall teaching trend consistently deviates from sound doctrine. As per Romans 16:17, we identify these patterns so believers can guard their hearts.

🧐 Overview

Theological Verdict & Summary

Sermon Summary: A critical examination of a sermon that emphasizes moral discipline and spiritual routines but fundamentally misses the core message of salvation by grace alone.

Pastoral Analysis: While the sermon offers practical advice on holiness and forgiveness, it is theologically compromised by a complete omission of the Gospel.

Biblical Parallel (Archetype): Sardis — The sermon exhibits the characteristics of the church of Sardis, having a reputation for spiritual vitality and moral discipline while being spiritually dead in its theological foundation. By reducing the Christian life to behavioral commands and human routines while entirely omitting the monergistic work of Christ's atonement and the Holy Spirit's regenerating grace, the teaching presents a 'name that it is alive, but is dead' orthodoxy. It relies on human effort rather than the life-giving power of the Gospel.

Big Idea: Believers must cultivate a sensitive relationship with the Holy Spirit by avoiding behaviors that grieve Him, such as impure speech and division, in order to walk in the narrow way of holiness and effectively witness to the world. [00:53:50 ▶️ 📄]

Overall Verdict: Fundamentally in Error

CategoryStatusReasoning
Gospel Presentation ❌ FAIL The Gospel Engine is not intact. The sermon contains a Critical Gospel Omission, reducing the Christian life to moral striving and human routines while entirely omitting the monergistic work of Christ's atonement and the Holy Spirit's regenerating grace.
Soteriology ❌ FAIL The sermon fails to present salvation as a gift of grace through faith, instead implying that spiritual victory is achieved through human effort and moral discipline.
Bibliology ✅ PASS No specific errors were detected regarding the nature or authority of Scripture in the provided reports.
Hermeneutic ✅ PASS No specific errors were detected regarding the method of interpretation in the provided reports.
Theology Proper ✅ PASS No specific errors were detected regarding the nature of God in the provided reports.
Sacramentology ✅ PASS No sacramental errors were detected.
Confessional Depth ❌ SHALLOW The sermon lacks depth in its theological exposition, focusing on surface-level moral applications without grounding them in the deeper truths of the Gospel.

⚙️ The Core Gospel Framework

What is this? This section checks if the sermon contains the essential building blocks of the Gospel. We look for explicit, substantive mentions of God's holy standard, human inability, and Christ's finished work on the cross.

Why it matters for the final verdict: A complete Gospel framework protects a sermon from becoming man-centered. If a preacher gives commands for good behavior but leaves out the grace and atonement of the Gospel, it often results in a 🔴 Critical or 🟠 Major error for Moralism (teaching human self-improvement rather than reliance on Christ). However, if these Gospel elements are missing simply because the pastor is preaching a highly focused, practical message to mature believers (e.g., instructions on biblical marriage), our system applies a "Safe Harbor" pardon, graciously reducing the omission to a 🟡 Minor error.

The Law And Wrath:

"let all bitterness or wrath or anger or clamor or evil speaking be put away from me with all malice" [01:15:12 ▶️ 📄]

Total Depravity And Inability: Not observed in the sermon.

Active Obedience Of Christ: Not observed in the sermon.

The Cross And Atonement:

"if he forgave on the cross his enemies if he forgave on the cross can't we forgive" [01:16:01 ▶️ 📄]

⚠️ Theological Concerns

🔴 Critical Gospel Omission

Root Cause: Moralism

The Belief/Behavior: The teaching reduces Christianity to moral striving, implying that spiritual victory is achieved through human effort, such as giving glory to God before checking devices or spending an hour in the Bible.

Why It's Dangerous: This approach is dangerous because it leads believers into legalism and despair, as it implies that sanctification is a human work rather than the result of God's grace.

Biblical Correction: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

✅ Commendations

Pastoral Care | Emphasis on Forgiveness

The pastor correctly urges the congregation to forgive those who have attacked or lied about them, citing Jesus' example on the cross.

Moral Instruction | Call to Holiness

The pastor commands the congregation to actively remove negative emotions and behaviors like bitterness and anger, replacing them with kindness and tenderness.

[00:00:00] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[00:00:00] I want to talk to you as my brothers and sisters because I believe you've come today not because we're here you've come today because you believe in your hearts he's here and you want to experience him in a deeper way so I'm going to ask you to respect his presence by not walking around or talking to each other or not paying attention because
[00:00:40] He is all we have. Without Jesus life has no meaning whatsoever. Without the Lord it would have been better not to have been born into this world. And he promised us something most remarkable. He said in his word that he would come and
[00:01:11] and abide with us, he would manifest himself to us.
[00:01:19] Now, you have to understand what he means in John 14, 21.
[00:01:26] I'd like you to go with me and look at that beautiful portion of scripture.
[00:01:31] And I hope you all have a Bible.
[00:01:35] And if you don't, well, someone next to you probably does.
[00:01:40] But for sure, you can see it on the screen anyways.
[00:01:46] I'd like you to pay attention to what it says.
[00:01:50] He that hath my commandments, meaning the word of God, and keepeth them, keepeth them.
[00:02:01] I'll talk about that in a minute.
[00:02:05] He it is that loveth me, and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him.
[00:02:14] Now watch the following words, and will manifest myself to him.
[00:02:21] Stop right there, stop, stop.
[00:02:22] manifest myself to him? Wait, has anyone ever said that in any religion to their blind followers?
[00:02:41] No. Our God, the true God, the living God, the only God, says to us that he'll manifest himself to us if we do what? If we have his commandments and keep them. If we have his word and keep it.
[00:03:07] If we have his word and keep it. That's a very simple request he makes. If you have my word and you keep it. Now if you look at these amazing words, he that hath my commandments, my word,
[00:03:30] and keepeth now that word keepeth by the way means to guard to guard from what from loss to guard from loss so you don't lose what you're reading and forget what he said it also means to
[00:03:57] keep your eyes on the word it also means to maintain it so that word keepeth keepeth means what to guard it don't lose it keep your eyes on it and maintain it and one more thing
[00:04:18] hold fast hold fast to it like hold it like you hold your own life don't ever let it go now very few christians really understand what that means i think you do i hope but it took me
[00:04:42] years to come to that place and that's why i say that many christians don't know it because i did not know it when i was young and i did not know it when i was even in the ministry ah that surprised
[00:04:55] some of you because you learn as you grow in the christian life that the scriptures and only the scriptures will manifest Christ Jesus to you. Not singing, not even worshiping. Only his word.
[00:05:22] Only his word. A lot of people sing and all they do is they wear themselves down and out and they tired and give up but when you get into the scriptures slowly never rush never rush never
[00:05:43] rush it's like people eating when they enjoy a meal you know you chew slowly every taste is joyful and just right and you look for Jesus in scripture this is a mistake I made when I was
[00:06:08] young when I got saved in 1972 February 14 on a Monday morning 7 50 in the morning to be exact I did not know that I'm to look for Jesus in the Bible I just read the Bible before that I had to
[00:06:33] read the Bible in Israel because I grew up in a Catholic school with Catholic nuns who made us read the bible because if we did not read it we were beaten those nuns were tough franciscan
[00:06:54] sisters i don't know if anybody here grew up in a catholic school i did how many did put your hands up high oh lots of you then you know what i'm talking about but see in israel they were a
[00:07:08] lot tougher than maybe here i don't know over there they carried a nice big stick so you read the Bible not because you knew the Lord, because you were scared of the nun. Then later the monks
[00:07:23] came along, Franciscan monks who wore brown robes and sandals, and we had to read the Bible because those men were not as nice as the nuns. You live in Israel, you have to know the Bible,
[00:07:39] but I did not know the Lord. Then when I got saved, now I read the Bible, but I'm reading about Adam and Eve and about Noah and the ark and about Abraham Isaac Jacob and Joseph and the
[00:07:52] sons of Israel and on and on and later I heard Catherine Kuhlman in the early 70s on radio say and I never heard anyone say that before she said the bible is a revelation of one person
[00:08:12] Jesus that was kind of an eye-opener to me that the Bible is a revelation of one person Jesus it's not about a nation called Israel or about a people or about a tribe it's about the Lord
[00:08:29] and then you see him in all the shadows and all the types in everything in the old covenant yes God was talking to his people of course we know that there is a nation called Israel
[00:08:42] of course God made a promise to Abraham of course but it's all about the Lord everywhere you look and Jesus said search the scriptures you think you'll find life yet they speak of me now when
[00:09:01] you find him oh this is when the journey begins that's really when it begins and then you understand second corinthians 3 we with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the lord are
[00:09:18] changed into the same image quickly go to second corinthians chapter 3 and look at verse 17 and 18 i want to show you something then we'll we'll come back and look at this beautiful verse here in john
[00:09:32] because this is so profound now the lord is that spirit and what the spirit of the lord is there is liberty now look at verse 18 but we all with open face not veiled like moses was beholding as in a
[00:09:50] glass that word glass means mirror meaning the bible the glory of the lord you see god's word is is a mirror the bible says we behold the glory of the lord as we read his word are changed into
[00:10:05] the same image from glory to glory even as by the spirit of the lord i feel the anointing here talking about it so we look at the scripture it's an ever beholding of christ jesus
[00:10:26] and ever beholding of christ jesus in scripture i don't have the time to explain everything i'm saying but for example Joseph it's not about Joseph it's about the Lord you say how simple so when you read the story of Joseph loved by his father hated by his brothers sold into slavery and
[00:10:50] on it's all a picture of Christ why who was loved by his father God almighty hated by his brothers Israel. Sold. So was the Lord. Placed in a pit. That's his dash. Later we see he went into prison.
[00:11:15] So did the Lord. And then what? He comes out of that prison. That's the resurrection.
[00:11:27] And now something amazing happens. He is seated at the right hand of Pharaoh.
[00:11:35] that's Christ at the right hand of God and Pharaoh gives him a Gentile wife and Jesus received the church how many see it put your hands up high finally so you look for the Lord you look for the Lord you get it don't you yeah so when you see the Lord in every story in
[00:12:04] every type and every shadow and in very clear scriptures about his birth in Micah 5 1 and 2 and in Isaiah 7 14 or his ministry in Isaiah 9 and so much more you say he's all over the new
[00:12:22] he's all over the old covenant you know never forget this never forget this the new in the old is concealed and the old in the new is revealed shall I say it again okay the new testament in
[00:12:43] the old is concealed you have to look for it but the old in the new is revealed so when the early church read the bible they did not have Matthew Mark Luke John the Acts and the epistles
[00:12:58] they looked for the Lord in Genesis and Exodus and Leviticus and so on so it's very important to understand you look for the Lord and then let's go back to John 14 if you don't mind
[00:13:11] and then he says he'll manifest himself to you and I he that hath my commandments my word and keeps and guards them doesn't lose them I'll manifest myself to you how precious that word manifest myself to him means to appear exhibit make known myself how many of you want to really
[00:13:41] really know the Lord put your hands up high get to know his word get to know his word and just a few more minutes because this is not my message tonight this is this is only the
[00:13:55] appetizer I'm ministering today on the Holy Spirit but I got to finish this because so important we have got to understand the power of it because when you begin to see the Lord in his precious word oh dear lord this is when he becomes precious to you like first peter 2 7 says
[00:14:27] this is when let's go to philippians 3 verse 8 through 10 quickly this is when you say i count all things but loss to know christ i'm willing to lose it all ye doubtless and count all things
[00:14:47] but lost for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and to count them but dung that I may win Christ so when you when you when
[00:15:00] you taste you know how it says taste the Lord and see that he's good so you see him in in the word and now you long and now you say I'm going to give up this one to give up that I'm going to
[00:15:12] give up this and you start giving things up that don't matter in life anymore because you have found the Lord how many understand say yes that's it that's it all right David said whom have I in
[00:15:32] heaven but thee and there's none upon the earth that I desire beside thee in Psalm 73 verse 25 that is where you'll end up when your knowledge of the Lord becomes so real so deep so rich
[00:15:47] you'll cry out whom have I in heaven but thee listen now we're not going to heaven to see our mom and dad that's not why Jesus died when you get to know him so deeply you say Lord
[00:16:11] have no one in heaven but you I'm not going to see my mom and my dad or my loved ones even though they'll be there I'm going because you're there and I desire none upon the earth but you lift
[00:16:33] your hands and say those words it's there for you read it whom have I in heaven and there's none upon the earth that I desire besides the tell him that pray that prayer right now pray that prayer
[00:17:00] on the screen say Lord just say Lord bring me to that place Psalm 73 25 let that be your cry I know they have a different scripture but there it is whom have have I in heaven but thee
[00:17:25] there's none upon the earth that I desire beside thee that's what you get that's what you come to that place in your life when you know him you don't want anything you don't want anyone in heaven
[00:17:40] you don't care who's there except jesus isn't that precious lift your hands and love him and tell him how much you love him to him be all the praise hallelujah all right ladies and gentlemen
[00:18:00] thank you now you stay with me there greg real gentle you can stop playing but you just stay seated right there I want to ask you a question before I begin ministering on the Holy Spirit
[00:18:15] because this is a very important question I want you all to think about remember that the Bible says it's not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord now a lot of people don't
[00:18:30] understand that I'd like to help you understand that the children of Israel saw power mighty power. They saw God divide the Red Sea. They saw the glory of God as fire by night and a cloud by
[00:18:56] day. They heard God's voice audibly when he gave them the Ten Commandments. And by the way, I hope every Christian today will memorize the Ten Commandments. They're really quite simple to remember look at your hands come on look look look look at your hands watch me watch me watch
[00:19:23] me so you look at your at your right hand and you separate both both hands from each other and here's what you do you remember the first five commandments here they are no god but me
[00:19:37] and by the way bring it down to your level and then you'll remember the exact words no god but me thou shall have no other gods before me number two don't make one that's how you remember don't
[00:19:51] make another one thou shall not make unto thee any greater you know given image so rather than remembering the words you just remember what you put in your head get it no god but me and don't
[00:20:04] make another one number three don't take my name in vain number four i want one day a week sabbath number five don't forget mommy and daddy honor your mom and dad now you got it right there in
[00:20:23] your pocket right that's how you remember that and i'm i'm i'm showing you how you can do it okay the other hand now let's look at the other hand what what does god say first now he's focusing
[00:20:38] on our duty to man right now this is our duty to god right here hello this is our duty to who and our duty to God is also honor mom and dad that's God's commandment to honor him
[00:20:56] to honor you honor your parents now now this is our duty to men number one don't kill nobody just don't kill anybody number two don't kill a family ah now you remember don't commit adultery
[00:21:16] because adultery is killing a family.
[00:21:21] Are you getting it?
[00:21:24] Yeah.
[00:21:25] Now, please remember, these are quite simple if you put them in your head.
[00:21:31] Don't kill and don't kill a family.
[00:21:35] Don't kill nobody and don't commit adultery.
[00:21:38] And then, don't be a thief.
[00:21:42] Don't steal.
[00:21:45] He didn't say don't lie.
[00:21:46] He said don't steal because every thief is a liar.
[00:21:50] And then finally, don't talk anything bad about anybody.
[00:21:55] right that's right don't be a false witness number 10 don't be greedy thou shalt not covet it's so simple to remember the 10 commandments lift your hands lord help him remember every one of them say amen they'll help you live a good life by the way so god speaks to them from heaven
[00:22:22] audibly that's power they see the mountain shake and Israel after seeing the mighty God of heaven opened the Red Sea for them they walk on dry land they see his glory they hear his voice
[00:22:46] what do they do they go building an animal and call it God why why is that there it shows us that the power of God does not change the hearts of men the power of God doesn't change the hearts
[00:23:03] of men only the Holy Spirit changes the hearts of men so now let's go to the New Testament and this is the question I have for you if you were there with the disciples Peter James John
[00:23:23] and all the other disciples and you saw the Lord heal the sick and raise the dead would that change your life now some will say yes no it will not change your life because it did not change their
[00:23:36] life think about this with me please they saw the Lord heal the sick raise the dead cleanse lepers calm the storm they saw the Lord Peter James and John so saw the Lord on the matter
[00:23:58] of transfiguration and they saw the glory of God and they heard the voice of God say this is my son listen to him what did they do well Peter denied him the others forsook him Judas betrayed him
[00:24:16] and then when he went to the cross they said we thought he was the Messiah wait hold it how can you say that you saw him raise Lazarus from the dead and you still question if he's the Messiah you saw him heal the multitudes all were healed
[00:24:41] you saw him calm the storm and he said what kind of man is this you saw him walk on water and you still questioned and the other thing that's so amazing is when the Lord spoke to them
[00:24:58] about his death and resurrection they did not even understand it even when they came down from the mountain after they saw the glory of God and heard the voice of God Peter James and John saw
[00:25:15] the glory like they they came into the cloud but the cloud was on them they saw Elijah they saw Moses and now on the when when the Lord is walking down with them and talks about his death and
[00:25:33] resurrection they were talking back what is he talking about they did not even understand it why it's not by might it's not by power but by my spirit so they saw might and power a lot of might and power but without the Holy Spirit it did not change their hearts
[00:25:55] nor did they even understand what he said and that's why the Lord said it is more expedient for you that I go away because I have many things to say to you but you cannot bear them now you
[00:26:12] won't even understand them so I will send the Holy Spirit who will reveal all the truth to you and how amazing yeah you can give the Lord a mighty hand for that one and how amazing that
[00:26:33] the apostles knew more about Jesus after he left than while he was there how the Holy Spirit now the Holy Spirit is a person and when people ask me today who is he I have one answer he is
[00:26:53] Jesus unlimited so I'm going to ask you who is the Holy Spirit one more time who is he he is Jesus with no limit because when the Lord was on earth he was limited in the flesh he would
[00:27:13] go from place to place or you had to go see him today he's in your heart and he's everywhere at the same time through his spirit he's omnipresent but he said I am with you and I shall be in you
[00:27:29] it's the same Lord you read earlier now the Lord is the spirit in Corinthians so I want you to understand the importance the importance of knowing him how many were here last year when I was here put your hands up high put your hands down how many were not here last year
[00:27:52] about about well more than last year fine put your hands down I'm glad you're all here today and I'm grateful to Ken Copeland here for having this wonderful service and But before I minister to the sick, and I will, I really want to explain from my heart how you, sweet people of God, can walk in power.
[00:28:27] It's really quite simple.
[00:28:29] And I'm asked all the time, what is it?
[00:28:34] How do you do it?
[00:28:35] I don't.
[00:28:41] I'm going to tell you the story that many of you maybe have never heard.
[00:28:45] I began preaching at 21 years old when when I was 24 I had a most amazing remarkable invitation from the Catherine Kuhlman Foundation now I had gone to her meetings when I saw Miss Kuhlman
[00:29:06] she was extremely dramatic to me I was like stunned by her dramatic ways she dressed in a long white dress and went up and down like a ballerina in some of her meetings but the the the presence
[00:29:27] of the Lord in her meetings was so tangible you were just you cried the whole time and I'll tell you a little bit later about what happened to me when I went the first time but I want to tell you
[00:29:40] about what happened when I was 24 so we we would take buses from Canada I lived in Toronto we would take buses with a man named Jim Poynter, a free mother dispatcher who became like a wonderful
[00:29:52] spiritual father to me. And a lot of people who were older people would come down on the bus from Toronto to Pittsburgh who were sick. And I saw some amazing miracles. We took a woman with us
[00:30:05] on the bus who was crippled like the hunch of Notre Dame, like this, healed before our very eyes.
[00:30:14] Her whole body began to stretch in her seat with nobody laying hands on her.
[00:30:21] That woman, we put her in a wheelchair.
[00:30:23] I was the guy with a young man named Al Perichon who became the president of CBN in Canada.
[00:30:30] We wheeled her wheelchair.
[00:30:32] And she was like this the whole time on the wheelchair with severe arthritis.
[00:30:37] And her husband, who was a short man, carried her purse for her.
[00:30:43] But she was very witty.
[00:30:46] She said, hey, boys, don't let them see my wheelchair.
[00:30:50] For two days on the bus, every time the bus would stop, Al and I would go down and get the wheelchair out and open it and put our body in.
[00:30:59] And we'd take her to the bathroom or to the restroom, whatever.
[00:31:03] Another day of the service, we had to carry her because she did not want us to bring the wheelchair because Catherine Hooman did not allow wheelchairs on the main floor.
[00:31:13] Anybody on the wheelchair had to go down to the basement, which nobody understood why but Catherine was quite whatever and we ran down the aisle in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on a good Friday service and put her in her chair and she's sitting like
[00:31:37] this the whole time we ran on the balcony and sat way up top because all the seats were full down below by the time we were done helping her and when Ms. Schumann walked on the platform
[00:31:49] within minutes that woman began to move in her seat i'm telling you people before god almighty she was doing this and i was in my seat hitting jim next to me and i was going
[00:32:04] i couldn't talk when you see somebody's body for two days crippled like the hunch of notre dame and they start pulling god pulling their body in their seat with nobody laying hands on them you too would go it marked my life brother Ken I saw a miracle of a woman that I helped for two days
[00:32:33] get straight her body was straightened in the seat and I will never forget when she got back when she got back on the bus that bus driver almost died when he saw her he was an unbeliever
[00:32:52] who drove us from Canada and when that woman walked up he was just like he I thought the man would have a heart attack the poor guy was so scared because she was like this and now she's
[00:33:03] walking up straight but it was a very amazing moment on the platform when Miss Koeman was about to pray for her because all of us were screaming and the people were crying when they were around
[00:33:14] and and Catherine said what's this what's this and they bring and they bring the lady up and She comes straight walking up, and Ms. Schumann wants to pray for her.
[00:33:24] And this woman says, just a second, Ms. Schumann.
[00:33:29] Imagine, Ms. Schumann was about to pray, you know, everybody's crying and cheering.
[00:33:34] And the lady is healed completely straight.
[00:33:37] And Catherine is about to lay hands on her.
[00:33:39] And the lady said, just a second, Ms. Schumann.
[00:33:42] He forgot the finger.
[00:33:43] she said he forgot the finger because nobody saw that the little finger was still twisted like that like nobody cared but that woman wanted the whole thing straight you know but wait wait so Catherine says in her way and I'll try
[00:34:05] to imitate her she said honey I will not do that he left it there that you might to remember. When you see a miracle like this, it'll change your life. So here I am, 24 years
[00:34:24] old. Catherine and I never met. I get a call from Maggie Hartner. Now, a lady named Marty Phillips, Marty became a friend of mine, and Marty ran the Catherine Community Ministry in Canada.
[00:34:39] So Marty said, they want you to conduct her memorial service. I said, what? She said, the Catherine Kuhlman Foundation chose you to conduct her memorial service which was a year after her passing she passed away February 20th in 76 this is February 2077 I said why me she said
[00:35:08] I don't know but they want you to be to do the service and at that time Miss Kuhlman in 1975 had had gone to las vegas and was the first time ever she allowed cameras to tape her service
[00:35:21] all the other stuff that was done at you know at oru were hidden cameras that's a fact the only time she allowed cameras in her meetings was one service las vegas nevada in may of 75
[00:35:36] and they showed us a whole healing service that you can still see it was called living dry land living water and Maggie says we're gonna show the film and afterwards you will minister it's okay and then she said do you have a tuxedo I said no she said go
[00:35:53] rent one so I had to go to downtown with Jimmy McDonald her soloist to get a tuxedo because I never had one and never wore one before that so now I get to the office and she says these words listen to me these words changed my life she
[00:36:11] said, this is Maggie Hartner. Now Maggie Hartner was Catholic woman's right-hand lady. She ran the whole ministry for Ms. Kuhlman. She said, don't you go pray now and get all tied up with yourself so God can't use you. Just go take a nap. I was stunned. The woman said to me, word for word,
[00:36:32] don't you go pray now and get all tied up with yourself so God cannot use you. Go take a nap.
[00:36:40] and I'm thinking as I walked out of the office I'm thinking this lady is the most unspiritual woman I have ever ever talked to so of course I did pray I didn't care what she said I was begging God I
[00:36:57] was so scared you know to conduct Catherine Coombs memorial service are you kidding I had to pray so I show up Carnegie Music Hall Northside Pittsburgh Pennsylvania still there I show up I was stunned the place is packed with people who did not know my name the choir beautifully
[00:37:20] dressed long gowns and the women and all the men with tuxedos they show the film I'm sitting in the back looking at the film and then Jimmy said to me before the service he said listen we're
[00:37:32] going to show the film. I'm going to introduce you. You come on and minister to the people. Now listen to me carefully. I'm going to show you how the Holy Spirit works. So I get up on the platform. I look
[00:37:44] behind the curtain and I got scared. I was 24 years old. I'm 73 now. Figure it out. I looked. I said oh dear God I cannot do this. So now they start singing and Jimmy had said to me prior we're
[00:38:04] to sing the song jesus jesus there's something about that name and you walk on so he gets up and sings the song no benny he sings the song the second time no benny why because i'm scared
[00:38:19] hiding behind the curtain i saw that crowd and i froze an usher jimmy says on the platform willing to sing the song for the last time and benin will walk on the platform an usher pushed
[00:38:38] me on the platform before god the man pushing on the platform i come on the platform being pushed by the usher spotlights on my face you know when the spotlights hit your face you can't see nobody
[00:38:52] and and i'm and i'm my head is frozen my brain is frozen they have just been playing the song now they changed the key and you know when your head is frozen when your brain is frozen you just
[00:39:04] think about the same song let's sing the same song again you know but when when the key changed i i forgot what the key was so i sang in the highest key possible and had to stop halfway it was a
[00:39:15] disaster a beginning disaster imagine singing jesus jesus and you did not finish it because the key was too high and they did not know how what on earth you were doing i stopped in front of 3,000 people who did not even know me.
[00:39:32] I lifted my hands and I said, Dear Jesus, dear Jesus, I cannot do it.
[00:39:38] I cannot do it.
[00:39:39] Imagine starting a service by saying that.
[00:39:42] I cannot do it, Lord.
[00:39:44] I cannot do it.
[00:39:46] And I thought, this is the end of my life.
[00:39:48] This is it.
[00:39:51] I heard him say, I'm glad.
[00:39:59] Now I will.
[00:40:05] before God I'm telling you the truth I said I cannot do it I gotta and the Lord said I'm glad now I will and the miracles hit just just like that I'm on the platform didn't even sing hallelujah
[00:40:16] didn't even preach Maggie was out of her seat Ruth Fisher Marion March all these ladies worked with them they were getting the the healings they were getting healed coming up and before they got near me they were falling under the power I was just standing watching I did nothing except say
[00:40:38] I cannot do it now don't tell me the Holy Ghost is not real when I said I cannot do it he showed up it's time you say I cannot do surrender surrender some people are so tied up with
[00:41:06] themselves, God cannot use them. And Maggie was right. The greatest miracles and meetings I've ever had, Ken, is when I was completely relaxed. William Branham said the best meetings he ever had is when he was completely relaxed. And I didn't know that till I read it later.
[00:41:32] God cannot use you nor heal you if you're all tied up with your problem. He cannot get through that.
[00:41:41] just relax just relax trust him and i think this is when the holy spirit takes over our lives jesus said we must become like children to enter the kingdom lift your hands to heaven father i pray in your wonderful name jesus that you'll begin to explain and reveal lord
[00:42:17] the holy spirit to every life in every heart in jesus mighty name amen make sure your instrument is please working at all times greg greg did you hear me make sure it's working at all times because
[00:42:42] i will need you i want to introduce you to this most amazing most remarkable person because i believe the days are coming when God is going to use every single one of you. And I mean every
[00:43:05] single one of you. And without knowing the Holy Spirit as a person, you cannot do it. So here's the, here's the problem today. People are looking for his power, not him. When you look for his
[00:43:33] power, then you want to use him. But when you look to him, he will use you. May I repeat that?
[00:43:49] When you look for the anointing, you want to use him. When you look for the power, you want to use him. But when you look to him, he'll use you. Get to know him. Get to know him. Because if you look
[00:44:08] for the power you become a fanatic if you look for the power you end up in fanaticism but when you look for the Holy Spirit there's order there's love and power order love now it's very important
[00:44:35] to understand that the moment you see him as a person and I think sometimes we forget that that you see that he's worthy now to receive your adoration he's worthy to receive your faith he's
[00:44:56] worthy to receive your love he's worthy of your surrender yes the Holy Spirit is not an it he is a person God Almighty Jehovah God in Isaiah chapter 6 the Lord spoke to Isaiah and he said
[00:45:20] go tell my people they have eyes to see ear to hear but they're dull of hearing they have eyes and they see not they have ears and they hear not paul the apostle repeats that in act 28 when he
[00:45:37] was in rome and said so well the holy ghost spake through isaiah saying to the fathers in isaiah it says the Lord the Lord said to Isaiah the Lord said Jehovah said to Isaiah go tell my people
[00:45:57] go tell them they have eyes to see and they see not ears to hear and they hear not but then you look there in in Acts 28 where Paul said so said the Holy Ghost to Isaiah because he is God don't
[00:46:14] try to understand the trinity because the day you do you'll bring God down to your level and then he will be no longer God and nor will you be able to worship him our minds are too small
[00:46:35] to understand the trinity impossible God Almighty one God three persons that's what the Bible teaches, that's where we stop. And a mighty man of God, Winston Nunes in Canada, told me years ago, Benny, when the Bible speaks, you speak. When the Bible is quiet, be quiet. Now, the Holy Spirit,
[00:47:13] the most blessed person of the Trinity, oh, how precious He is. When we see Him as a real person, holy, wise, mighty, tender, we surrender to Him. And this wonderful person, as real as Jesus,
[00:47:38] ever-present like Jesus, a loving friend like Jesus, a mighty helper like Jesus, always ready to help in every emergency of life this precious wonderful person of the Holy Spirit I will never forget reading for the first time with new eyes first Corinthians chapter 2 let's
[00:48:16] go to it please verse 10 and on because God began to reveal to me after my experience in Ms. Kuman's meeting who he is and I'm sure you've all or many of you have read Good Morning Holy
[00:48:34] Spirit. How many have? How many have not? It'll change your life not because I wrote it but I will tell you quickly very very quickly how it began before I go on. I was 20 years old when I
[00:48:58] going to see Ms. Kuhlman, not knowing what to expect, and her staff told me later this is the only time that they ever remember this happening in any service. The healings were happening beautifully and powerfully, and Ms. Kuhlman began to weep, sobbingly, I mean like with pain,
[00:49:19] and her head was bowed on the platform, the altar at First Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, beautiful building still there in downtown, and she began to weep, and everything stopped.
[00:49:31] everybody looking like what's what what happened and when she lifted her face lifted herself up I will never forget her face being so red so red and she began to beg the crowd beg them please
[00:49:49] don't grieve the Holy Spirit it's all I have and I never heard anyone talk like that And then she said words that caused my heart to leap with a cry.
[00:50:07] She said, he's more real to me than you.
[00:50:13] And a cry in my soul said, Lord, I want to know you like this.
[00:50:22] And I went home that evening, seven-hour drive on the bus from Pittsburgh, physically tired.
[00:50:29] I'm in bed.
[00:50:31] I feel someone pulling me, pulling me to go on my knees.
[00:50:35] I get on my knees and the first words out of my mouth I said Holy Spirit first time I ever talked to him I said Holy Spirit and I stopped and I thought am I supposed to talk to him I kind of
[00:50:55] wasn't sure then I thought well if I'm wrong God will correct me I said Catherine Kuhlman said today, you're a friend. Can I know you like this? A few minutes went by, nothing happened.
[00:51:18] Within minutes, I feel this beautiful blanket of power and love surround me, like heaven.
[00:51:28] I had my eyes closed. I thought, or I just died and gone to heaven, or I'm back in Pittsburgh, because that same atmosphere was now in my bedroom. I opened my eyes. I'm in my bedroom.
[00:51:44] In Canada, I went to sleep.
[00:51:50] First thing in the morning, I wake up and I said, Good morning, Holy Spirit.
[00:51:56] And his presence comes right back.
[00:51:59] It went for a whole year, every single day.
[00:52:04] His presence was in my room.
[00:52:06] My brother William, sitting right there, stand up so they see you.
[00:52:14] He and I, he and I share the same bedroom.
[00:52:22] Come here a second.
[00:52:25] He used to work at a gas station.
[00:52:27] He's a pastor now.
[00:52:30] He used to work at a gas station.
[00:52:36] And I would be in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
[00:52:40] And he was afraid to walk in the room.
[00:52:43] Tell them why.

[00:52:45] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_00]
[00:52:45] Because I would hear crying behind the door.
[00:52:49] And I would look beneath the door and I would see his knees.
[00:52:55] And I would have to sleep on the couch many, many nights.
[00:53:00] You hogged the room.

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[00:53:04] But look what the Lord has done.
[00:53:07] And now all my brothers are serving the Lord.
[00:53:10] and his son and his son are two pastors stand up boys gentlemen one is a pastor in Dallas one in Naples Florida love you the Holy Spirit has so changed not only my life but my family
[00:53:31] and for a whole year he was revealing who he is and then Jesus because I wanted to know who is he and the first scripture is this that was the first scripture i read after that service
[00:53:50] but i'd like to go a little further and maybe begin a little earlier if we can go to first corinthians chapter two let's let's begin actually with like verse let's go back to verse nine
[00:54:08] okay first corinthians two as it is written i have not seen nor ear hath heard neither have enter into the hearts of men the things which God has prepared for them that love him let's go to
[00:54:21] verse 10 but God hath revealed them unto us by spirit now watch these words for the spirit searcheth all things yea the deep things of God now that struck me that the Holy Spirit is searching
[00:54:40] the deep things of God for one reason verse 11 please for what man know what the things of a man save the spirit of man which is in him even so the things of God knows no man but the spirit of God
[00:54:56] keep going now we have not now we have received not the spirit of the world but the spirit which of God, watch these words, that we might know, we might know the things that are freely given to us.
[00:55:14] What are they? What he was searching. Remember in verse 10 and 11, he's searching the deep things of God. To do what? That we might know the things that are freely given to us. That's incredible.
[00:55:33] that he reveals the deep things of God to us so why do we need the Holy Spirit we are the ones that receive the depth of God is revealed to us by his spirit and then it says then it says which things also we speak not in words which
[00:56:00] with which man's wisdom teacheth but which the Holy Ghost teacheth the Holy the ghost teacheth. So, we have got to understand how much we need him. Otherwise, we will never reach the depth God wants us to reach. How many want to reach the depth of the heart of Jesus?
[00:56:25] Put your hands up high. You won't without him. You won't without the Holy Spirit. It's impossible.
[00:56:34] So, getting to know him is vital to your life, your experience, your walk with the Lord.
[00:56:41] So here's such knowledge that belongs to you and to me.
[00:56:49] And this wonderful person has a will.
[00:56:53] In Romans 8, 27, it talks about his will.
[00:56:58] And in Romans 15, verse 30, it talks about his love for the love of the Spirit.
[00:57:06] Now, saints, I want to bring one thing to you that is so precious.
[00:57:15] In Ephesians 4, verse 30, we read these beautiful words.
[00:57:25] Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption.
[00:57:36] I want to read to you that portion, because I think a lot of times we forget what causes him to grieve.
[00:57:53] And he is the only member of the Trinity that this is connected to.
[00:58:02] I want to begin by reading in verse 26 of Ephesians 4.
[00:58:38] proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers, and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day
[00:59:01] of redemption. I really want to talk to you about this, and my heart is moved because the closer you get to the Lord Jesus, and it's the Holy Spirit who brings us that close, something happens to you that I will try to explain. Please, please listen to what I have to
[00:59:35] say. Marilyn Hickey in 2012 challenged me to read my Bible three times a year, one time through every four months i've been doing it ever since i read god's word three times a year and i've been
[00:59:57] doing it since 2012. i did not know the impact it would have on my life i did not know the change it would cause in my heart so when people tell me today what have you learned i've learned that
[01:00:15] signs and wonders will not keep you i've learned that the gifts will not keep you only the The Scriptures will keep you.
[01:00:25] And when you know the Word of God, Jesus becomes so real because the Holy Spirit reveals Him in His Word like I showed you earlier.
[01:00:35] But something else happens to you.
[01:00:39] You begin to abhor the world.
[01:00:43] You begin to abhor the flesh.
[01:00:45] You begin to reject the flesh and all that the world offers.
[01:00:52] And one thing you become very aware of, that the Holy Spirit is grieved when you speak filth.
[01:01:06] When you speak filth.
[01:01:09] I cannot handle.
[01:01:12] I can no longer listen to the filth that comes out of the lips of Christians.
[01:01:21] I can no longer handle.
[01:01:26] I want to run.
[01:01:28] I'm not trying to impress you.
[01:01:31] I beg you to listen.
[01:01:35] I cannot even watch TV anymore because filth comes through the lips of people doing the news.
[01:01:45] I'll be bold.
[01:01:50] You may not like me anymore.
[01:01:54] I don't even want to watch and listen to our president because he cusses.
[01:01:59] Because when you become so close to Jesus, you reject anything that is not of him.
[01:02:10] Even if you like, even, wait, wait, even if you like the individual you don't like what they say because the Holy Ghost is too holy to listen to that thou art of purer eyes it says that in the scriptures than to behold iniquity
[01:02:31] God is purer than you'll ever know to behold sin and Jesus warned us if your eye offends you cut it off if your hand offends you cut it off it's better to enter into life without an eye
[01:02:54] than lose your whole soul without a hand or lose your whole soul we are to walk the narrow way not the wide way listen to me beloved of God the Lord said strive strive means fight to walk in that
[01:03:16] narrow way he said many will try and won't be able to many will try and not be able to walk in the narrow way and the narrow way is described to us in Matthew 5 read it and reread it the narrow way
[01:03:42] is the way of the meek blessed are they who are meek the broken the merciful those who are prosecuted for righteousness sake the narrow way is explained clearly in the sermon on the mount he said if your righteousness will not exceed the righteousness of the pharisees
[01:04:15] you'll not enter the kingdom and the next thing he said is beware of false prophets who are they they're the ones who make the way to heaven easy it's in that chapter right after he talks about the narrow way. He says, beware of false prophets who tell you that the way to glory
[01:04:45] is easy. No, it's not. Many will look and not find it. Strive. I'm here to tell the whole church, strive. Help me with that baby, lady. Help me with that baby. I didn't come here to hear babies.
[01:05:07] strive to enter into the narrow way because the way to life and I beg you now if children cry

[01:05:34] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]
[01:05:34] they must be taken out distraction kills what God wants to do because you must take him out of the building for their sake sitting around you I demand reverence for the presence of the Lord

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:05:54] it's the holy spirit that will help you find that narrow way i beg of you do not lose your souls for anything in life for popularity don't lose it for money don't lose it for friends that you should not have around you don't lose it holy holiness without which
[01:06:31] no man shall see the lord the greatest desire in my life today is to be accepted in his sight

[01:06:41] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]
[01:06:41] on that day i don't want to be rejected by the lord and only the holy spirit only the holy spirit will bring us to that place that precious person who grieves every time we say something we should
[01:07:06] not say and when you read that portion it's not just about that but he said that all bitterness

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:07:19] wrath anger clamor evil speaking be put away from you these grieve the Holy Spirit but what pleases him be kind one to another tender hearted forgiving even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you

[01:07:32] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]
[01:07:32] so this precious Holy Spirit so tender so loving so merciful dwells in our hearts

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:07:41] he sees every act he hears every word he knows every thought whenever there is an act or a word or a deed that's impure unholy unkind or selfish or untrue this one precious person is grieved
[01:08:01] grieved i don't understand why blasphemy against him is unforgivable i don't understand that all i know it's in the bible that for jesus to say the words if you say a word against the son of man
[01:08:18] i'll forgive you but if you say anything against the holy ghost i will not what kind of blessed person is that that god father and son have decided not to forgive the person who blasphemes
[01:08:33] him and i'm going to plead with the church stop attacking each other on social media stop attacking men and women who serve the lord just so you can get followers and money shame on you i see precious

[01:11:10] don't be the judge there's only one judge jesus said to us judge not lest you be judged be loving be kind every time you speak a word against someone you grieve the most precious person

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]
[01:11:33] anywhere on the globe when you attack this precious man of god sitting up there when you attack this precious man up there you grieve the lord because you disagree with

[01:11:49] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:11:49] something he says it's none of your business god will judge we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ and no one will defend us on that day no one no one yeah the ministry is war but we
[01:12:17] will not give up never give up I'm so proud of these young people Rachel love you her mom passed away her dad passed away but God is going to use her to keep Daystar going with her sister Rebecca
[01:12:41] the family, going and dear Joshua, I love you so much thank God for you and Jonathan and Rebecca and all of you, because they're paying a price paying a price we'll gladly pay it and how privileged we are
[01:13:09] that we don't live in some country where they chop our heads off did you hear what I said?
[01:13:23] Christians are dying today in many parts of the world I just heard, Ken, 250 children were killed in Syria a few years ago.
[01:13:38] I did not even know about it.
[01:13:41] The children were told to deny Jesus.
[01:13:45] And they said no.
[01:13:48] And they took those kids, those terrible enemies of the gospel.
[01:13:53] They took those children and shredded them in massive machines like meat.
[01:14:01] Do you believe that?
[01:14:04] that children are dying today in a place like Syria or they did I don't know about now maybe things are better I don't know for saying no we will not deny Jesus and yet we live in a free

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]
[01:14:21] country with a blessed people yet we attack each other to get followers on social media you may not

[01:14:42] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:14:42] like me after this I don't really care I'm begging you as your brother be kind one to another tender-hearted it says so let's go back to Ephesians 4 one more time please forgiving one says grieve not the Holy Ghost but let's go to verse
[01:15:12] 30 one please verse 31 let all bitterness or wrath or anger or clamor or evil speaking be put away from me with all malice and now verse 2 be kind one to another will you do that tenderhearted
[01:15:32] forgiving I'm going to ask you not to do something I wasn't planning on it I want you to forgive everyone who has said anything against you now by your head and forgive them forgive every person
[01:15:52] that has come against you forgive every person that has lied about you that's what jesus wants

[01:16:01] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]
[01:16:01] from you if he forgave on the cross his enemies if he forgave on the cross can't we forgive of course we can tender-hearted he said to us forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you it's time we show the world we love each

[01:16:33] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:16:33] other that the gospel might be truly preached around the world how can the world believe us if we are fighting each other how can they believe that God loves us if we hate each other it's impossible how can we win the lost when
[01:17:01] when when when we're attacking those are serving God time will be grief not the Holy Ghost and finally I have one more thing to say that I'm gonna minister to you the more you know the Holy Spirit the more you know Jesus and make it your
[01:17:32] daily decision from your own that when you get up in the morning give him all the glory before you even talk to anyone before you answer your phone before you look at your phone before you look at your text messages give him the glory and
[01:17:54] then open your Bible and spend time at least an hour with him I plead with you that you do that because it will change your day your day will be brighter stronger, greater. Whatever battles that you may have to face, you'll win that day.
[01:18:17] You will not lose that day. And get very close, very close to Jesus. Cling to Him, cleave to Him, because He'll make Himself real to you through His Word. Now lift your hands to heaven.
