❓ What do these grades mean?
We do not issue this rating to attack the speaker, but to protect the listener. This church's overall teaching trend consistently deviates from sound doctrine. As per Romans 16:17, we identify these patterns so believers can guard their hearts.
🧐 Overview
Sermon Summary: This sermon uses five principles from sports psychology to motivate listeners to 'play great' in their spiritual lives. It's an energetic and engaging message aimed at helping people overcome mental blocks and achieve their potential.
Big Idea: Play to play great, not to avoid mistakes. [00:54:15 ▶️ 📄]
Pastoral Analysis: The sermon is theologically weak, employing a secular self-help framework from sports psychology as its primary structure and subordinating Philippians 3 to it. This results in an anthropocentric message focused on human performance, process, and mindset, effectively making God a coach for self-improvement. While not heretical, it is spiritually anemic, promoting a therapeutic and pragmatic faith rather than one grounded in the objective work of Christ.
Biblical Parallel(Archetype): Laodicea — The sermon's framework is a secular self-help model focused on achieving personal greatness, presenting God as a coach for a better life rather than the object of worship.
🧭 Biblical Alignment Dashboard
Overall Verdict: Theologically Weak
| Category | Status | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Soteriology | ⚠️ WEAK | The message is overwhelmingly anthropocentric, built on a series of human-centric imperatives (Decide, Commit, Stay Present). This focus on human process and mindset obscures the monergistic work of God in salvation and sanctification, functionally presenting a synergistic model where human effort is the determinative factor. |
| Bibliology | ⚠️ WEAK | Scripture is used pretextually. The sermon's structure and main proposition are explicitly borrowed from a secular source, and Bible verses are then used to support this pre-existing framework, rather than the framework being derived from the text itself. |
| Hermeneutic | ❌ FAIL | The hermeneutic is eisogetical. It imposes an external, secular philosophy (sports psychology) onto the biblical text, using Scripture as a veneer to spiritualize self-help concepts. This fails to let the text speak for itself and establish its own agenda. |
| Theology Proper | ✅ PASS | The sermon does not explicitly teach error about the attributes of God. However, it functionally reduces His role from Sovereign King to a personal coach, which is a weakness rooted in the faulty hermeneutic rather than a direct error in the doctrine of God. |
| Sacramentology | ⚪ N/A | No sacraments (Communion or Baptism) were observed or discussed in the sermon portion of the service. |
📖 How they Handle Scripture & Jesus
Primary Text: Philippians 3:10-14 (Pretextual (Thin))
Scripture Saturation: Verses Read: 9 | Referenced: 2 | Alluded: 4
Passages Read Aloud:
- Philippians 3:10-14 [00:56:31 ▶️ 📄]
- Philippians 3:7-9 [01:24:27 ▶️ 📄]
- Galatians [unspecified verse, likely 6:2] [00:43:16 ▶️ 📄]
Key References: Revelation [unspecified chapter], 1 Samuel 17 (David and Goliath)
Christological Connection: None (Moralistic): The primary framework is derived from secular sports psychology (Dr. Bob Rotella), with Christ serving as the ultimate goal or enabler for the human-driven 'process' of playing great. The five principles are overwhelmingly anthropocentric imperatives (Decide, Commit, Stay Present, Embrace, Trust your training/identity).
🧱 Sermon Outline
- Introduction: Play to Play Great [00:48:04 ▶️ 📄] : Introduction to the 'Game On' series and the core principle from sports psychology: Play to play great, not to avoid mistakes.
- Principle 1: Decide to Play Great [01:00:20 ▶️ 📄] : Overcoming spiritual mediocrity and limiting thoughts. Using the example of Tiger Woods changing his mindset mid-round.
- Principle 2: Commit Fully to Every Shot [01:06:45 ▶️ 📄] : Indecision kills performance. Be faithful where God has placed you, even in small acts of service.
- Principle 3: Stay Present (One Shot at a Time) [01:13:01 ▶️ 📄] : Focusing on today and forgetting the past or worrying about the future, referencing Paul's running analogy.
- Principle 4: Embrace Mistakes as Part of the Game [01:16:57 ▶️ 📄] : Mistakes are feedback, not condemnation. Rehearse victories (like Jack Nicklaus and David) instead of failures.
- Principle 5: Trust God (Your Training in Your Identity) [01:24:11 ▶️ 📄] : Identity comes from Christ, not performance or works. Trusting in what He has done, not what we can do.
- Conclusion & Altar Call [01:28:28 ▶️ 📄] : Shift from results-oriented to process-oriented living. Final illustration (reading the end of the book). Call for salvation and commitment.
🗝️ Key Topics & Themes
- Performance : Playing to win versus playing not to lose.
- Identity : Finding identity in Christ rather than works or achievements.
- Commitment : Committing fully to every task and avoiding indecision.
- Mindset : Overcoming limiting thoughts and rehearsing victories.
✅ Commendations
Homiletics | Engaging and Clear Delivery
The speaker's delivery is energetic, passionate, and well-structured. The use of personal stories and sports analogies makes the message accessible and relatable to a broad audience.
Pastoral Tone | Motivational Intent
The sermon clearly intends to encourage and build up the congregation, calling them to move past mediocrity and live with purpose. This desire to see people grow is commendable.
Liturgical Practice | Corporate Confession
The prayer led at [00:19:34 ▶️ 📄] serves as a valuable moment of corporate confession and realignment, acknowledging the temptation to find satisfaction in things other than God. This is a strong element of worship.
⚠️ Theological Concerns
🟠 Biblical Utilitarianism (Secular Chassis)
Root Cause: Biblical Utilitarianism: This pragmatic approach treats Scripture as a tool to achieve a pre-determined human goal (in this case, 'greatness') rather than as the authoritative and primary source of truth that sets the agenda for the believer's life.
"So the solution came in this little book I found by Dr. Bob Rotella... And there was one principle from that book that I want to share with you today... Play to play great, not to avoid mistakes." [00:52:58 ▶️ 📄]
Correction: The main point of a sermon must be the main point of the text. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 states all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete. The text itself provides the structure and power for transformation, not external philosophies.

[00:03:48] We love it, especially now that we have a new series game on.
[00:03:56] Pastor Olin, Coach Olin is in the house, and I'm wearing a Miami Hurricanes shirt, and I also have my...
[00:04:05] Banner that I have for 15 years.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
He has to rub it in.
[00:04:15] We already texted him a picture.
[00:04:18] Hey, by the way, guys, write us in the chat.
[00:04:21] We want to know if it's snowing where you are at today.
[00:04:24] We're supposed to receive a lot of snow.
[00:04:26] And by a lot, I mean nothing.
[00:04:29] Not a lot.
[00:04:29] Probably nothing.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
One inch is not a lot.
[00:04:31] Calm on down.
[00:04:32] You know what?
[00:04:34] It's different when you worship.
[00:04:35] and House.
[00:04:37] It's different when you hear the Word of God sitting instead of online.
[00:04:41] So come on down.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
We would love to meet you.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yes.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
Ronnie will buy you a muffin.
[00:04:45] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:

[00:04:46] Just come on down.
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
Come on down.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Just look for me.
[00:04:50] So, hey, it's supposed to snow.
[00:04:52] No big deal.
[00:04:53] Come on down.
[00:04:54] One inch is not going to happen.
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
I mean, come on, guys.
[00:04:56] It's really not.
[00:04:57] Live groups.
[00:04:58] Hopefully it does snow.
[00:04:58] Live groups.
[00:04:59] Live group launch.
[00:05:00] Oh, my gosh.
[00:05:01] Tell us if you have joined a live group.
[00:05:03] Write us in the chat.
[00:05:04] We're at freedomhouse.cc slash live.
[00:05:06] We're in that chat right now monitoring it.
[00:05:10] So, live group launch.
[00:05:11] We joined like four to five groups last time.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yeah, a lot.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
We're not doing that again.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
I think two or three is good, but five was too many.
[00:05:19] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
Maybe one or two.
[00:05:21] Five was not a smart idea.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
And then you sprinkle all the schedules from the kids.
[00:05:26] Oh, my God, it was a lot.
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
Yeah, yeah.
[00:05:28] But I'll tell you what, we have everything.
[00:05:31] We have socials, Bible studies.
[00:05:34] Sporty stuff, like I'm wearing this shirt because we won two championships.
[00:05:39] Yeah, for the Panthers.
[00:05:40] He buys me the shirt, okay?
[00:05:42] I'm literally in it for the snacks at this point.
[00:05:45] Yeah.
[00:05:46] Yeah, but hey, he told me that they might have a three-peat.
[00:05:49] Do you think those hockey fights are legit?
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
They are real.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
Oh, yeah.
[00:05:53] They're real.
[00:05:53] I think they're staged.
[00:05:54] It's like UFC.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yeah, yeah.
[00:05:56] Tellgate event is coming up.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:

[00:06:08] They're going to have games.
[00:06:08] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:

[00:06:11] Food trucks.
[00:06:11] So come hungry.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yes.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
There's going to be so much fun.
[00:06:14] There's so many activities for the kids to do as well.
[00:06:16] Amen.
[00:06:17] Don't miss it.
[00:06:17] That's how we're going to finalize our Game On series.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yeah, you'll get to connect with people, meet everyone.
[00:06:23] It's just a different vibe when you get in the community.
[00:06:28] You'll get to meet all the campus pastors.
[00:06:30] I mean, come on down.
[00:06:32] Just have a great time.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
We are at Central Campus today.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yes, Central Campus.
[00:06:36] If you're in the downtown area, we have South End.
[00:06:40] If you are going to be in the Lake Norman area, we also have a campus.
[00:06:44] So, we are one house with many rooms.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_03]:
Many rooms.
[00:06:48] Yes.
[00:06:48] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yes.
[00:06:49] So, life group.
[00:06:50] I mean, I heard there's a walking life group.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
Yes.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
It is so cold.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
It's an awesome life group.
[00:06:57] Yeah.
[00:06:57] Okay.
[00:06:58] And us ladies, we're trying to get our 10,000 steps in.
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yeah.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
I heard there's a golf one.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
That's kind of fun.
[00:07:05] I don't golf.
[00:07:06] It's all right.
[00:07:08] It's kind of awkward that we live in a golf course community and I don't golf.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
And we have a mini golf in our backyard.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yeah, they talk to me about golf and I'm like, I don't golf.
[00:07:16] So it's kind of embarrassing.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
But I did learn to hold the stick.
[00:07:18] What do you call it?
[00:07:19] The golf club?
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
The club, yeah.
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
I learned to hold it because Ronnie said, we need to teach you so you don't embarrass me.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
Yeah.
[00:07:26] So anyways, Pastor Olin is a great golfer and a great speaker.
[00:07:31] So come on down.
[00:07:33] It's going to be awesome.
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_09]:
We're excited for today's message.
[00:07:38] You guys are going to love it.
[00:07:39] Yes.
[00:07:39] This is literally the word that I need to hear for 2026, and I know so many of you out there need to hear this too.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_10]:
I don't think you can say anything, but let me give you a hint.
[00:07:48] The principles to live by are amazing.
[00:07:52] So, yeah, that's all I can say.
[00:07:54] So just come on down.
[00:07:55] Let's worship together.
[00:07:57] The presence of God is in this place, and I'm telling you.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]:
Hey, good morning, Freedom House.
[00:08:02] You guys stand to your feet.
[00:08:05] Come on, who's got the joy this morning?
[00:08:23] This is the day you made So I will rejoice and be glad Rejoice and be glad in it
[00:08:37] This is where I believe, yeah That You are more than enough You're more than enough for me You are faithful to Your promise You are strong when I am weak When I'm standing in Your presence I have everything I need
[00:09:39] Jesus come one day You are worthy of all You are worthy of all my praise You are faithful to Your promise You are strong when I am weak
[00:10:54] Holy Spirit let it pour out
[00:11:42] Holy Spirit Put those hands together church If you've got a little bit of joy this morning you know who it belongs to It says it will sing even the rocks
[00:13:10] I find you in the lowest place Who thought you'd feel me in the crowd?
[00:13:35] And who knew you'd make good of my mistakes You're nothing like I thought you were, you're bad What a God, what a God Can you worship this morning?
[00:13:52] What a God, what a God What a God, what a God
[00:14:02] We stand in awe, what a God, what a God I thought you'd show up for perfection
[00:15:11] The highest place I'll reach is at Your feet
[00:15:35] Then I've done it all If the best thing that I see is Your glory Then I've seen it all Your love has changed my life Forever satisfied God, You are my everything If the highest place I reach is at Your feet
[00:16:00] And I've done it all, it's the best thing that I've seen is Your glory And I've seen it all, Your love has changed my life forever satisfied
[00:17:21] The place I'll reach is at Your feet And I've done it all And the best thing that I've seen is Your glory
[00:18:22] This place all reaches at Your feet Then I'll turn it all The best thing that I see is Your glory Then I'll save it all Your love has changed my life Forever satisfied
[00:18:45] One word is the only thing you speak And I've heard it all If I feel your heart And I never see your hand I still have it all No treasure in all this life Could ever satisfy You are my everything Yes You are You are my everything
[00:19:21] God, what a God you are, my everything
[00:19:34] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_08]:
You know, I think sometimes we need a spiritual chiropractic adjustment.
[00:19:42] Because I think sometimes we can get off to the left or to the right and think that our money will satisfy.
[00:19:48] Oh, if I could just get enough money, that'll satisfy me.
[00:19:51] We'll get off to the left like, oh, when I just get that thing, when I just get to that achievement, when I have that set of knowledge, it'll be enough.
[00:20:01] and honestly this song makes us like oh nothing will satisfy nothing will satisfy God you are everything and and sometimes we get off on that and we just need God to to lovingly like come in and and correct that that alignment to put us back in alignment with the truth that is that he's everything
[00:20:20] and the way we do that is we say it out of our mouth and mean it from our heart when we say you are my everything yeah i know that i think that that report that comes in it'll be it'll make things better no no but i know that regardless of what that report says my bank account says my job says whatever you are my everything
[00:20:35] and so we're going to pray in this moment and maybe if you were if you're honest and i'll be honest too sometimes we sing these words and we're just like oh you are my everything huh meanwhile i'm thinking about my bank account whatever we're going to pray honestly i'm going to start with a little repentance because i too can get in here and say words out of my mouth i don't mean from my chest but i don't want to do that with god we do that with people let's not do that with god today
[00:20:56] So Lord, I thank you for who you are.
[00:20:59] Forgive me.
[00:21:00] Forgive me.
[00:21:00] I'll speak for myself.
[00:21:02] Forever saying something just frivolously.
[00:21:05] Forever just kind of throwing on or out.
[00:21:09] No, forgive me, Lord, because honestly, you are everything.
[00:21:11] And it doesn't matter if I have zero dollars, if I'm on the floor, if I'm on the mountaintop, I'm in the valley.
[00:21:18] You are everything.
[00:21:19] You are my everything.
[00:21:20] There's nothing else that can satisfy me.
[00:21:22] Forgive me for ever thinking there was.
[00:21:24] And Lord, I thank you that when we align with your truth, when we align with who you are, it actually brings freedom, it brings peace, it brings wholeness to us.
[00:21:34] And we don't have to try to carry this burden we were never meant to carry.
[00:21:38] because those other things aren't going to satisfy the way that only you can and so we love you and we trust you we thank you for your forgiveness and for your grace and for your goodness and we thank you that as we look to you you keep us in perfect peace whose mind is fixed on you because we trust you so we trust you today and we love you today we thank you for your grace and mercy and for what you're doing already been doing and what you're going to continue to do in our circumstances as we see more and more of your goodness unfold in our lives because it's who you are
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_07]:
we love you we trust you in that in Jesus name somebody give him an amen today like he's the god of the universe he deserves our amen amen man he is our everything and as we go into this next song it's called holy forever and as i was thinking about it i'm reminded of this picture that we get in the bible in a couple of different places but specifically in revelation where john gets this vision
[00:22:30] God is seated there and there's angels that are flying around him and constantly coming before his face and each time they behold our Heavenly Father they cry out holy holy holy and when we sing together it's not just the voices in this room we are joining and echoing the angels in heaven singing holy to our Father
[00:22:55] So let's keep that posture as we go into this next song.
[00:22:58] Our leaders are going to come forward.
[00:22:59] If you need prayer for anything in your life, come and join with the faith of our leaders.
[00:23:04] Let's stay in this attitude, in this posture of worship and reverence to the one who is holy.
[00:23:12] Let's worship together.
[00:23:31] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]:
Holy Holy A thousand generations Falling down in worship To sing the song of ages together And all have gone before us
[00:24:00] Sing this song of ages to them
[00:24:38] All creation Christ Holy He will lift it high Holy Holy Christ
[00:26:35] All we stand above
[00:28:26] Your name is the highest.
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER UNKNOWN]:
Your name is the greatest.
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]:
Your name stands above them all.
[00:28:44] Send it out above all thrones and dominions of powers and positions.
[00:28:47] Your name which stands above all the nations.
[00:28:55] Holy, all creation rise Holy, you are lifted high Holy, holy forever

[00:30:15] Holy, lift your story high.
[00:30:34] Holy, you are lifted high.
[00:30:35] Holy, holy forever.
[00:30:37] Let your people sing it holy to the King of Kings
[00:31:06] Will Your Spirit hold me holy forever?
[00:31:19] Yes, it will.
[00:31:20] Oh, we worship You.
[00:31:24] Your name is the greatest.
[00:31:26] Your name stands above them all, above all thrones.
[00:31:37] Your name stands above them all Your name is the highest There's no other name
[00:32:06] Let your prayers fall Oh fill us up God Oh yes Lift up His name Oh your name Stands above them all Above all thrones and dominions All powers and positions Your name
[00:32:35] Stands above them all and the angels cry
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_11]:
Thank you Jesus.
[00:34:06] There's no name greater.
[00:34:09] We lift up the name of Jesus.
[00:34:14] We surrender it all to you God.
[00:34:17] All of our pride, our pain, our deep hurts.
[00:34:24] Lord I thank you for mental healing.
[00:34:28] I thank you that you remind those who feel unseen that they are seen that they are worthy they are they have so much worth because of your love God we rest in your presence thank you Jesus just rest just lean lean in his love take a moment
[00:34:55] To sit in his presence.
[00:34:56] I know life gets busy, it gets crazy, but we need to just be still.
[00:35:02] And the word that keeps coming to my mind is dwell.
[00:35:05] I believe God wants you to dwell.
[00:35:07] To dwell in his presence.
[00:35:12] To dwell in his healing.
[00:35:16] We thank you, Jesus.
[00:35:19] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:35:22] How we love you.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]:
Holy are you.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_11]:
Holy are you, Jesus.
[00:35:40] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:35:42] We love you, God.
[00:35:43] We thank you.
[00:35:44] Thank you for your love, for your goodness.
[00:35:45] Thank you for everything, Jesus.
[00:35:51] Thank you.
[00:36:00] We rest in you.
[00:36:13] We look to you.
[00:36:16] We don't look at what's around.
[00:36:18] We look up.
[00:36:20] We look up.
[00:36:20] Look up today.
[00:36:21] We receive your love, God.
[00:36:25] We receive your healing.
[00:36:28] And I just speak Jesus over this room.
[00:36:31] over the lives of everyone in this room God that they carry the power and the authority that you have for there is no name greater and we carry that with us not just today but through the rest of our life we thank you Jesus we honor you and we praise you amen praise him just praise him thank you Jesus
[00:37:14] Well, it was awesome worshiping with you.
[00:37:20] You may greet your neighbor on the left and right and turn your attention to the screen and enjoy the rest of service.
[00:37:41] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_06]:
Hey everyone and welcome to Freedom House.
[00:37:43] My name is Troy Maxwell and my wife Penny and I are your senior pastors.
[00:37:48] We are one house with many different rooms and our heart is very simple to help equip you to experience Christ's freedom in your everyday life.
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]:
We have a big vision here at Freedom House.
[00:37:59] You will notice every week at every campus we have live teachers and preachers.
[00:38:06] Why do we do that?
[00:38:07] Because we are a relational church, we love connecting, and we are not a video venue.
[00:38:13] You'll also notice over in our kids area, they have the same thing.
[00:38:17] Live teaching, preaching, worship.
[00:38:21] We're not a babysitting service.
[00:38:23] They are getting a fresh, relevant Word of God, just like you are.
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_06]:
And hey, maybe you're new or you haven't got connected yet.
[00:38:30] All you got to do is very simple.
[00:38:31] Just open your phone up, click that little circle on the seat back pocket in front of you, and check out all the amazing things that are happening at your church.
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]:
That's right.
[00:38:40] We can't wait to get connected with you.
[00:38:41] Take a look at what's coming up here at Freedom House.
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_00]:
Good morning, Freedom House.
[00:38:49] We have a lot of things coming up, so let's get right into it.
[00:38:53] If you were ever on a sports team, you know how nerve wracking it can be.
[00:38:56] You meet all these different people and at first it's awkward and scary, but you start working together and something shifts.
[00:39:04] You go from being nervous to having a lot of fun because you're all working with the same goal in mind.
[00:39:11] Life groups have the same intention to support each other and uplift each other while working on their faith together.
[00:39:18] Life groups make it simple for you to get outside of your comfort zone and get around a community.
[00:39:23] It can be joining a Bible study or going to a local coffee shop.
[00:39:28] I even lead a life group and it's awesome.
[00:39:30] So whatever your interest is, whenever you're available, there's a life group to support your need for community.
[00:39:37] Today is life group launch.
[00:39:39] So after service, go to the lobby, find a team member at one of the tables, and see what life group you can be a part of.
[00:39:46] You can also go to freedomhouse.cc slash life group.
[00:39:50] We weren't meant to do life alone, so let's go out and find our people and do life together.
[00:39:57] It's so easy for people to come into the church, listen to the sermon, and then leave.
[00:40:02] It's simple and it's safe.
[00:40:04] But when you actually plant yourself in the church and get involved, you go from simple and safe to thriving in community.
[00:40:13] Get On Track is a class that helps you connect with the mission and the vision of Freedom House.
[00:40:19] You learn how you can use the gifts God has given you to serve in that house and how you can create an environment that completely changes somebody's experience at church.
[00:40:30] You learn how to expand your faith and how you can help others step into their calling.
[00:40:35] If you're ready to take the next step, join us February 1st during Second Service to officially make this house your home.
[00:40:43] Go to freedomhouse.cc slash getontrack to let us know you're coming.
[00:40:48] We can't wait to see you there.
[00:40:50] Men, Strong Breakfast is back.
[00:40:53] We are setting up the tone for the year by pouring into our men.
[00:40:57] Our world has gotten so accustomed to men who have stepped outside of their role as leaders.
[00:41:02] This is why we are in such desperate need of strong men.
[00:41:07] Our Strong Men's Breakfast is all about pouring into our men and sharpening them to become better disciples.
[00:41:13] Join us Saturday, February 7th at our Central Campus for worship, an inspiring message from Pastor Troy, and strong community, and some great food.
[00:41:24] To register, go to freedomhouse.cc slash strong.
[00:41:28] Let's start this year off stronger than ever.
[00:41:31] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_07]:
For all this and more, download the Freedom House app or head to freedomhouse.cc slash connect.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_04]:
So where are our strong men?
[00:41:40] Yeah, yeah.
[00:41:41] First Saturday in February, we want to see you there.
[00:41:44] Hey, listen, it's strong men.
[00:41:45] There'll be no woke men there.
[00:41:47] There'll be no wimpy men there.
[00:41:49] Now, if you know some woke and wimpy men and you want to invite them so we can teach them how to be strong men, you can do that.
[00:41:54] Invite your neighbors, invite your friends, invite your brother-in-law that you don't really like, you know, anybody.
[00:41:59] But listen, it's going to be a great time and we're going to have a great time together.
[00:42:03] We have a great word from one of our pastors.
[00:42:05] I'm one of the volunteer life group leaders here at Freedom House.
[00:42:12] On behalf of our senior pastors, Troy and Penny Maxwell, I want to thank you for spending this time with us today.
[00:42:18] You know, you could have done anything today.
[00:42:20] I mean, the weather's not great.
[00:42:22] You could have sit home.
[00:42:23] But you know what you decided to do?
[00:42:25] You decided to put God first, to come into His house, to hear a great word from Pastor Olin.
[00:42:30] It's going to be a great word.
[00:42:32] and give him first place of your week.
[00:42:34] And I believe that you're gonna have the best week that you've had in the entire year
[00:42:40] This week, so because you decide to put God first.
[00:42:43] Hey, now's the time in the service when we like to honor God with the receiving of our tithes and our offerings.
[00:42:48] That first 10% of our income, that's our tithes, and our offerings are anything above in that.
[00:42:53] And here at Freedom House, we call those people who give offerings kingdom builders.
[00:42:57] So if you've been on this generosity journey with us for a while, thank you for your obedience and your faithfulness.
[00:43:04] And if you're just starting your generosity journey,
[00:43:06] Hey, you can find out more information at freedomhouse.cc slash give and you can get all the information you would need there if you would like to start on this journey.
[00:43:16] You know, I was reading a scripture in Galatians where it says, "'Carry one another's burdens, for this is the will of Christ.'"
[00:43:23] And I was thinking about, what does that really mean?
[00:43:26] What does that look like?
[00:43:27] Well, really what it looks like is Jesus invites us to come along with Him with what He's doing in His world and in His kingdom.
[00:43:34] You know, I was looking back over the miracles that happened in the Bible.
[00:43:38] There are so many miracles that He did.
[00:43:41] And most of the time, He invited the disciples and those around Him to participate with Him.
[00:43:47] I mean, think about it.
[00:43:49] One of the first miracles, turning water into wine at a wedding feast.
[00:43:53] He asked the servants, hey, go fill the water pots.
[00:43:56] He did the miracle, but the servants went and got the water and filled the water pots.
[00:44:01] Or how about when he first called the disciples, they had been out fishing all night, didn't catch a thing, they were mending their nets.
[00:44:07] He tells them, hey, cast out
[00:44:10] and You'll Catch a Great Harvest.
[00:44:11] They were doing the necessary.
[00:44:13] They were mending their nets, but they had to do the possible.
[00:44:16] He did the impossible and give them a great catch.
[00:44:19] He invited them to participate.
[00:44:21] How about the four guys who had the sick friend, but they couldn't get into the house where Jesus was teaching, but they wanted him to have healing in his body.
[00:44:29] They tore the roof off the house to get their friend
[00:44:33] To where Jesus was, where Jesus could touch him in healing.
[00:44:36] You know, he invites us to participate.
[00:44:38] How about when Jesus was out in the wilderness one day preaching a great sermon and then all of a sudden one of the disciples says, Hey, send everybody home so they can go get something to eat.
[00:44:49] Jesus looks at them and goes, No, you guys give them something to eat.
[00:44:52] They found a guy that had a couple of fish and a couple of few loaves of bread, but Jesus did a great miracle.
[00:44:58] The disciples distributed, so he invites us.
[00:45:01] He does the same thing with us today.
[00:45:03] Now, there's a couple ways that we can participate with what he's doing in his kingdom today.
[00:45:08] One is sign up for a life group.
[00:45:10] You know, there is a lot of opportunities.
[00:45:13] You may be lonely.
[00:45:14] You may be needing friends.
[00:45:15] You may, whatever you may need.
[00:45:17] Listen, life happens in life groups.
[00:45:21] It really does.
[00:45:22] My first life group I joined was a little over ten and a half years ago.
[00:45:25] Some of my best friends, people who I consider like family, are still part of my world today.
[00:45:31] When I needed a friend, when I was broken,
[00:45:36] I found healing here in this house and through life groups.
[00:45:40] That's what happens.
[00:45:41] You know, and the other way we can do that is through our tithes and our offerings.
[00:45:46] Jesus just invites us.
[00:45:47] It's no pressure.
[00:45:48] We can't buy our way into heaven, but guess what?
[00:45:51] When we participate,
[00:45:53] We do great and mighty things together that we can't do on our own.
[00:45:56] Like open a new campus at Ballantyne.
[00:45:58] You know, you're saying, hey, there's 750 houses of worship in Charlotte.
[00:46:02] Why do we need another church in Charlotte?
[00:46:04] Because there's over 100 people moving to Charlotte every single day, and we want to make sure there is nobody that lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, or the surrounding areas that's going to hell.
[00:46:13] We're going to do everything we can
[00:46:15] to show them that they can have a real relationship with the God of this world, with Jesus Christ, the God of the universe.
[00:46:23] So we just thank you for that.
[00:46:25] So let's just pray.
[00:46:26] Lord, we are so grateful that you are always faithful.
[00:46:29] that you Lord that you give us the opportunity to come along with what you're doing thank you for that Jesus Lord as we sing this morning Lord you are our joy Lord there is no God like you Lord Lord it's because of you that we have joy that we have peace that we found favor in your life that we have a relationship with you it's because of you your love changes us and so Lord we want to share that love with everybody we come in contact with every single day of the week and Lord as a
[00:46:58] Community, as a group of believers here at Freedom House, Lord, that we can reach more people for your glory and for your kingdom.
[00:47:05] In Jesus' name we pray.
[00:47:07] Amen.
[00:47:07] Enjoy the rest of the day.
[00:48:04] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_05]:
Hello, Freedom House Central Campus.
[00:48:06] Are you guys excited to be in God's house today?
[00:48:09] I'm excited to be here with you.
[00:48:11] How many football fans I got in the house?
[00:48:15] All right, I'm moving this, I'm getting closer to you.
[00:48:17] I feel too far, yeah.
[00:48:19] I like to feel close to y'all.
[00:48:20] I love y'all so much.
[00:48:21] Y'all are good looking.
[00:48:22] Everybody say amen.
[00:48:25] Amen.
[00:48:25] I'm gonna teach y'all how to take a compliment today.
[00:48:27] Watch this.
[00:48:27] Y'all are good looking.
[00:48:30] Amen.
[00:48:30] Y'all are the best looking church in Charlotte.
[00:48:32] [SPEAKER UNKNOWN]:
Amen.
[00:48:33] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_05]:
Come on, doesn't that feel good?
[00:48:35] Amen, amen.
[00:48:36] Well, hey, I enjoy some football.
[00:48:38] I know we serve a God of grace, God of mercy, because we had worship and we had people wearing cowboys jerseys, 49ers jerseys in Panther territory.
[00:48:50] Come on, somebody.
[00:48:52] Like, I know God is good.
[00:48:54] He's a God of forgiveness and grace and mercy.
[00:48:58] We still love y'all, we still love y'all.
[00:48:59] Well, my name's Olin Carter.
[00:49:01] I serve here on our teaching team.
[00:49:02] If you're new to Freedom House Church, one thing you're gonna see in everything we do, we do everything here as a team,
[00:49:09] From the parking lot to the pulpit, we do everything as a team.
[00:49:12] So we have a teaching team, we have a live communicator each and every Sunday at all of our campuses, and today is no different.
[00:49:20] So I love being a part of this team, and you know what we're gonna talk about today?
[00:49:23] Hey, if you don't like sports references, you're in the wrong place.
[00:49:25] Because I'm going to be Pastor Olin today, but I'm going to slip a little bit into Coach Olin today.
[00:49:30] Is that okay?
[00:49:32] If I coach you up a little bit, get you all fired up about your week, about your year.
[00:49:36] I think this is going to be an amazing year.
[00:49:38] But before we jump in, I do want to greet those that are joining us online.
[00:49:42] We've got folks right now.
[00:49:43] North Carolina, Georgia, New York, Arizona, New Jersey, Illinois, Virginia, California, Florida, Washington, D.C. Come on, they need Jesus in Washington, D.C. And South Carolina, you guys give it up for them.
[00:49:57] We love you guys very, very much.
[00:50:01] So glad you are with us and you're a part of our family.
[00:50:04] You're not just tuning in online, you're a part of this family and we love you very, very much.
[00:50:09] So we're in a series right now, game on.
[00:50:13] We're talking about how to understand God's plan from his playbook, the Bible, and what that looks like for our lives, man.
[00:50:21] And we're going to get fired up about it today.
[00:50:23] I am a coach.
[00:50:24] I coach some basketball.
[00:50:25] I've coached some other things.
[00:50:27] And so I get a little, yeah, Debrea knows.
[00:50:28] She's seen me.
[00:50:29] Like, I get a little fired up.
[00:50:30] I'm not a mean coach.
[00:50:32] I'm not a Bob.
[00:50:33] I don't throw chairs.
[00:50:34] I don't do that.
[00:50:35] None of that.
[00:50:36] But I do get fired up.
[00:50:37] I like to encourage my players.
[00:50:39] And so I'm gonna try to coach you up today because I believe there's some potential buried deep inside each and every one of you.
[00:50:47] I believe God has more for you.
[00:50:48] I believe for all of us, there's some amazing things that God wants to do in and through us this year.
[00:50:56] But in order for that to happen, we gotta game on, right?
[00:51:00] We got to make a decision to get in the game, to play our game.
[00:51:03] And so that's what we're going to talk about today.
[00:51:06] Now, years ago, I coached an eight-ball pool team.
[00:51:10] You might be thinking, wow, how do you coach pool?
[00:51:12] But I did coach an eight-ball pool team.
[00:51:15] Dabria was actually on my team years ago.
[00:51:17] And so I loved to play pool and used to have a table and my buddy got me into it.
[00:51:23] And we just loved going up there every Monday night we would play.
[00:51:25] And the guy that had been our captain said,
[00:51:27] for a long time he he left and so uh i kind of inherited that role and i became the captain and the coach of the team and one thing when i took over the team i'm very competitive anybody competitive in the house yeah you like you don't like to lose i'm i'm very competitive i don't like to lose and uh we we weren't doing so great i was fired up because i'm like you know because i'm the coach now we're gonna win everything right
[00:51:52] I was like you know I'm in charge we're gonna we gonna get this thing going like we're gonna win we're gonna go to cities we're gonna go to Vegas like we're gonna be it you know but we weren't performing so well we would show up and in practice we would play well everybody was loose everybody's having fun hitting shots you know hanging out and like you know really dialed in and just playing free and having a great time and then the match would start the lights were on everybody's watching and it counts it matters
[00:52:22] and we would lock up.
[00:52:24] We would get nervous, we would underperform.
[00:52:27] Anybody ever had that in your life before?
[00:52:28] Like you know you're good at something, but then when you get in the game, when everybody's watching, all of a sudden, you choke, right?
[00:52:37] You just cannot perform at the level, and you know it's in you, and I think there's nothing more frustrating than to know you can do it, but then you don't do it.
[00:52:47] You're trying to tell everybody, no, really, I'm pretty good, and they're like, yeah, sure you are, okay.
[00:52:51] I mean, it's so frustrating.
[00:52:53] And so for our team, I had to find an answer.
[00:52:58] So the solution came in this little book I found by Dr. Bob Rotella.
[00:53:03] Now, if you've never heard of Dr. Bob, Bob Rotella is one of the world's leading sports psychologists, mental coaches.
[00:53:12] He has been the personal mental coach for great golfers like Rory McIlroy,
[00:53:17] Davis Love III, Ernie Els.
[00:53:19] He's coached, he's consulted with the NBA, the NFL, NASCAR, the United States Olympic team, their ski team.
[00:53:27] He's been a consultant for them.
[00:53:29] And so this guy is like, he's the guy, right?
[00:53:32] He is the most sought after sports psychologist.
[00:53:35] So I got his book and I began to read his book about the mental game.
[00:53:40] And I put together this little list.
[00:53:43] I think it was like 10 rules.
[00:53:45] and every week we would go over these rules and all of a sudden we started to win.
[00:53:53] People started to play better.
[00:53:54] We weren't as tight.
[00:53:55] We weren't as nervous.
[00:53:57] We started to play our best.
[00:53:59] We started to win and there was one principle from that book that I want to share with you today.
[00:54:06] I'm not going to, I think it was like 10 rules I had, but there's one.
[00:54:09] There's one that stood out.
[00:54:10] There was one that I thought really changed the game for us and it is this.
[00:54:15] Play to play great, not to avoid mistakes.
[00:54:23] Play to play great, not to avoid mistakes.
[00:54:30] You see, here's the truth.
[00:54:32] Most players play out of fear.
[00:54:35] Most players play not to lose.
[00:54:38] Most players play to avoid embarrassment.
[00:54:40] Most players try to play like someone else.
[00:54:44] And when you play that way,
[00:54:46] You'll never play your best.
[00:54:48] I remember years ago, the Panthers had this coach, John Fox.
[00:54:51] Anybody remember John Fox?
[00:54:53] Oh, John Fox.
[00:54:55] John Fox tested my Christianity on a regular basis.
[00:54:59] Like, you know, I'm supposed to walk in love and forgiveness, and I walked in like homicide and murder.
[00:55:06] Like, I wanted to choke this man.
[00:55:07] Like, there was no lead too big that John Fox couldn't lose it, right?
[00:55:12] and the reason is because no matter how good the Panthers were playing when we got a lead he would coach us not to lose like we would stop doing everything we did we would stop taking chances we would stop rushing the quarterback everything fell back into like a prevent defense everything run the ball run the ball run the ball punt run the ball run the ball run the ball punt it was like I mean I just I want to throw something at my TV
[00:55:40] But that's how most of us live our lives.
[00:55:44] We're afraid to take chances.
[00:55:45] We're afraid to go after it.
[00:55:47] We're afraid to really be who God has called us to be.
[00:55:51] And because of that, we never play our best.
[00:55:56] What does it look like for you to live your best life in 2026?
[00:56:02] Now listen, I'm not talking prosperity gospel, live your best life, like get your own Bentley and private jet
[00:56:09] Have servants coming and waiting on you hand and foot.
[00:56:12] Okay, that's not live your best life.
[00:56:15] Live your best life for a Christian.
[00:56:17] What does that look like for us?
[00:56:19] I think it's being who God has called us to be.
[00:56:23] I think it's serving others.
[00:56:24] I think it's building the kingdom.
[00:56:26] Let's see what the Apostle Paul thinks here in Philippians chapter three.
[00:56:31] Philippians chapter three, we're starting in verse 10.
[00:56:34] We're gonna bounce around a little bit today in this chapter, Philippians chapter three, if you wanna kinda stay there in your Bible.
[00:56:39] It says here in verse 10, he says, number one, he says, I want to know Christ.
[00:56:43] Do you want to know him today?
[00:56:44] It's got to start there, right?
[00:56:46] It's got to start with knowing Jesus.
[00:56:49] He says, I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.
[00:56:56] I want to suffer with him, uh-oh, sharing in his death so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead.
[00:57:09] He says, you know what?
[00:57:10] The new life that I can find in Christ is worth dying his death, suffering with him.
[00:57:17] I believe when you read scripture and especially the writings of Paul, this pattern becomes clear that living our best life as a Christian, being everything God has called us to be, you can really drill it down to three simple things.
[00:57:31] One is know Christ, two is become like Christ, and three is partner with Christ.
[00:57:38] I've got to know Him.
[00:57:40] I've got to become like Him.
[00:57:42] And I've got to partner with Him.
[00:57:46] What is He doing in my life today?
[00:57:47] Whatever it is, I want to be a part of it.
[00:57:50] I don't want to be resisting what God is doing.
[00:57:53] I want to be partnering in whatever God is doing in my life.
[00:57:56] And if I spend my life knowing Him, being transformed by Him, so that I can partner in whatever He's doing in and through me, that is a life well lived.
[00:58:09] Now that brings up an important question.
[00:58:12] Because for many of us, we're like, yes and amen.
[00:58:16] That sounds good.
[00:58:17] I would love to know him more.
[00:58:20] I would love to partner with Jesus.
[00:58:24] But I'm stuck.
[00:58:26] How do I get there?
[00:58:27] Maybe many of you spiritually are where our old pool team was.
[00:58:32] You know it's in you.
[00:58:34] You know you can do it.
[00:58:36] You've seen it before.
[00:58:38] You've been there before.
[00:58:39] You've been on fire for Jesus before.
[00:58:40] You've shared your faith before.
[00:58:42] You've served at a high level before.
[00:58:44] You know it's in you, but somewhere along the way, maybe in the last few years, you've gotten stuck.
[00:58:51] Old habits have resurfaced.
[00:58:54] Sinful things.
[00:58:54] Maybe just limiting thoughts.
[00:58:56] A lack of faith.
[00:58:56] Maybe issues in your life and you just can't seem to break through.
[00:59:00] I want to be this person.
[00:59:03] I want to know him.
[00:59:04] I want to become like him.
[00:59:05] I want to partner with him.
[00:59:08] But I'm stuck.
[00:59:10] What do you do when you're stuck?
[00:59:12] I think Paul tells us.
[00:59:13] Let's continue reading here verse 12.
[00:59:15] Paul says, I don't mean to say that I've already achieved these things.
[00:59:21] or that I've already reached perfection, but I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
[00:59:31] No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing, forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.
[00:59:40] I press on to reach the end of the race, to receive the heavenly prize for which God through Christ Jesus is calling us.
[00:59:51] Paul gives us a blueprint.
[00:59:53] He gives us some principles hidden in this chapter three of the book of Philippians that I believe if we unpack them can tell us how to get unstuck this year, how to play great this year, how to live our best life for Jesus, not for us.
[01:00:08] but for him, are you ready today?
[01:00:11] I'm encouraging you today, take some notes, write these principles down because there's probably one or two of them that are gonna jump out and grab your heart.
[01:00:18] So write these things down, principle number one.
[01:00:20] Principle number one, decide, everybody say decide.
[01:00:24] Decide.
[01:00:25] To play great.
[01:00:27] You gotta decide to play great.
[01:00:30] You gotta make a decision to play great.
[01:00:31] Now I know what a lot of you are thinking, oh gee, thanks coach.
[01:00:36] Just decide to be awesome.
[01:00:38] Okay, I'll be awesome.
[01:00:40] Awesome mode.
[01:00:43] Like, how dumb is that, right?
[01:00:44] It's like when I hear diet people say, you just gotta eat salads.
[01:00:48] I'm like, oh, okay.
[01:00:50] Great, that's easy enough.
[01:00:53] It's hard putting it into practice though, isn't it?
[01:00:56] And I know sometimes you hear that like, well, decide to play great, decide to live great, decide to live my best life for God.
[01:01:02] Like, great, sounds good, but how do I do it?
[01:01:06] But see, here's the important thing you blow right by.
[01:01:11] That is the most important principle I'm going to give you today.
[01:01:17] Because so many of us have decided already in our heart to settle for spiritual mediocrity.
[01:01:27] I can tell you as a pastor, I talk to people all the time, all the time, who say things like, I can't have faith like that.
[01:01:36] I don't understand the Bible I've tried to serve it doesn't work for me I don't know how to pray I'll never be spiritual like him or her and what you're saying is what you're saying I've already decided not to play great
[01:01:54] I can't be the person God has called me to be.
[01:01:57] I can't live out the potential that God has put in me, so I'm gonna settle for an artificial lid, spiritually, in my life.
[01:02:09] Paul is being humble, but he's also being bold and confident in this verse.
[01:02:13] He says, I haven't reached perfection.
[01:02:15] Perfection here, it doesn't mean perfect like we use perfect.
[01:02:20] Doesn't mean Paul's saying, oh, I haven't reached a point where I don't make mistakes and I never mess up and I don't sin or I'm never tempted, I'm perfect.
[01:02:27] That's not what he's talking about.
[01:02:29] That word in the Greek, what it actually means is completion, maturity.
[01:02:35] What he's saying is, is guys, you know what?
[01:02:37] I haven't arrived, but thank God I've left.
[01:02:41] I might not be exactly what God has called me to be, but I'm gonna press on until I become the man that God created me to be.
[01:02:49] That I fulfill the role that God created me to fill, and I will not settle for anything less than being the complete me that God has called me to be.
[01:03:02] That decision for you, what I'm telling you today, it starts right here.
[01:03:07] It starts right here, 1997.
[01:03:10] 1997 this guy you maybe never heard of him before he's kind of obscure figure named tiger woods anybody ever heard of him slow golfer you know won a few tournaments i think tiger woods he all the hype was about tiger woods 1997 he plays in the masters tournament but
[01:03:30] There was a problem.
[01:03:31] See, the world is watching all this hype.
[01:03:33] He's gonna be the greatest thing ever.
[01:03:34] But on the front nine, round one, the front nine holes, Tiger shot a 40.
[01:03:40] Now, for those of you who are not golfers, 40 is not bad.
[01:03:46] It's catastrophic.
[01:03:48] This train wreck can't look away like what is happening bad.
[01:03:52] It is headline on ESPN bad.
[01:03:55] It is everybody's phones going off.
[01:03:57] Tiger shot, did you hear?
[01:03:58] Tiger shot a 40.
[01:04:00] It is validation to every Tiger hater.
[01:04:03] See, he ain't that good.
[01:04:06] He shot a 40, did you?
[01:04:09] Tiger shot a 40 on the front nine.
[01:04:13] Problem is, the round wasn't over yet.
[01:04:17] See, Tiger shot a 40 on the front nine, but when he got past the ninth hole, he had a little conversation with himself.
[01:04:23] And you know what he said?
[01:04:24] He said, I have to stop playing scared.
[01:04:30] I've got to play the golf I know I can play.
[01:04:34] The next nine holes, he shot a 30.
[01:04:38] He went on to take the lead a day or so later.
[01:04:41] Then it was a big lead.
[01:04:42] Then he won the tournament by the largest margin ever.
[01:04:46] Making golf history and changing the game.
[01:04:51] Now, what happened in between hole nine and hole 10?
[01:04:58] Did Tiger change equipment?
[01:05:01] Did he get new golf balls?
[01:05:03] New golf clubs?
[01:05:04] Oh, I need a new driver.
[01:05:05] Did he call a timeout and go spend two hours on the range with his coach?
[01:05:09] Hey, Butch, I need you.
[01:05:11] The swing's messed up, man.
[01:05:12] I don't know, what am I doing?
[01:05:14] Video me, like what?
[01:05:15] Did he have time for any of that?
[01:05:17] No, no, he had to walk from the green on nine to the tee box on number 10, and in that minute or two time span,
[01:05:27] Something had to change.
[01:05:29] What was it?
[01:05:30] It was his mind.
[01:05:32] He had to make the decision, I'm going for broke.
[01:05:35] I'm just gonna let go and I'm gonna play my best.
[01:05:40] Doesn't matter if I hit it in water, if I hit it great, if whatever, I'm gonna trust who I am, I'm gonna play my best, and he went on to change golf forever.
[01:05:52] That can be you this year.
[01:05:54] All you've got to do is change these limiting thoughts in your head because God, this is a fact, God wants to use you.
[01:06:02] He wants to move in you.
[01:06:04] He wants to transform you.
[01:06:05] The only thing that's stopping him are these thoughts and beliefs in your head that say, he can't, I can't, he won't, it won't happen.
[01:06:17] Can we let go of those thoughts this year?
[01:06:20] Can we decide to play great this year?
[01:06:25] Let's say this together.
[01:06:26] Say this out loud.
[01:06:26] Say, I'm gonna play to play great in 2026.
[01:06:31] Say it a little bit louder.
[01:06:33] Say, I'm gonna play to play great in 2026.
[01:06:38] I believe this can be your year.
[01:06:41] Amen?
[01:06:42] Amen.
[01:06:42] Principle number two.
[01:06:43] Principle number two.
[01:06:45] Commit fully
[01:06:46] to every shot.
[01:06:49] Commit fully to every shot.
[01:06:52] I'll just tell you this.
[01:06:53] I didn't tell first services so y'all get a little bonus.
[01:06:56] That's my word for this year is fully.
[01:07:00] That's my word.
[01:07:01] My personal word this year is fully.
[01:07:02] I'm gonna be fully committed.
[01:07:05] I'm gonna be fully honest.
[01:07:07] I'm gonna be fully bought in.
[01:07:09] Everything fully, I'm going all the way.
[01:07:13] I'm not gonna hold anything back.
[01:07:14] That's my word this year.
[01:07:16] You gotta commit fully to every shot.
[01:07:18] Indecision kills performance.
[01:07:20] And I can't tell you how many times I've stood over a shot, a golf shot or a putt, totally unsure, and then what happens?
[01:07:26] I hit a terrible shot.
[01:07:28] And then you know what I say?
[01:07:29] I knew it.
[01:07:32] Right?
[01:07:33] For those of you that are golfers, every time when you're not sure and then you hit it, it's always bad.
[01:07:37] And then what do you say?
[01:07:39] I knew I should have backed away.
[01:07:40] I knew that wasn't the shot.
[01:07:42] I knew that wasn't the line.
[01:07:43] I knew!
[01:07:43] I knew it!
[01:07:45] Because indecision, it kills our performance.
[01:07:48] The Apostle Paul could have done a lot of things.
[01:07:50] He could have chosen to do so many different things with his life, but he chose to do the one thing that God called him to do, Billy Graham.
[01:07:59] Do you know they tried to get Billy Graham to run for Congress?
[01:08:02] To run for president, to be a civil rights activist.
[01:08:05] Do you know there was pressure on Billy Graham to do all these other things?
[01:08:08] But you know what he said time and time again?
[01:08:10] He said, no.
[01:08:12] He said, I'm called to be an evangelist, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
[01:08:18] And he stuck with the one thing that God had called him to do.
[01:08:22] What this looks like in golf also translates to our life.
[01:08:25] You gotta make a clear decision and you have to trust it.
[01:08:30] Don't stand over the ball with doubt and second guessing.
[01:08:33] Confidence is part of execution.
[01:08:36] So maybe today you're questioning what is your current shot right now?
[01:08:41] Is this the right shot?
[01:08:43] In the kingdom of God, this means being faithful where God has placed you.
[01:08:47] Let me give you an illustration.
[01:08:49] This is what it means.
[01:08:50] I don't know what God's called me to do.
[01:08:51] Look at me.
[01:08:52] Stop doing this and start doing this.
[01:09:00] because there's needs where you can be used by God right beside you.
[01:09:07] And so often, we want the glamorous, we want the amazing, we want the massive, we want the huge.
[01:09:12] We don't settle for the small things, and God says, just look right around you.
[01:09:17] I heard this pastor say this the other day.
[01:09:18] He said he was super convicted for going to this church meeting, and it's like, why would you be convicted for going to a church meeting?
[01:09:24] He said, well, I left my home running late.
[01:09:27] I had to get to this meeting,
[01:09:28] And he said, I get to the meeting and he said, I was so convicted because I drove right by my neighbor who God has been dealing with me about to share my faith.
[01:09:39] To invite this guy over to my home and to talk to him about Jesus and to share my faith and I drove right by him on the way to a church meeting to learn about personal evangelism.
[01:09:51] He said, what good is it to go to a conference or a class on evangelism if I'm going to drive right by a person that's lost that needs to hear about Jesus?
[01:10:01] And so many times in our lives we drive right by opportunity after opportunity after opportunity to serve God, serve the house, serve other people, share our faith because we're looking for that great big opportunity.
[01:10:17] That one day thing that's going to make us important in somebody and we miss the very opportunities that God has put in front of us.
[01:10:26] Be decisive this year.
[01:10:28] Commit.
[01:10:30] Here's the thing.
[01:10:30] Well, what if I serve and I'm in the wrong place?
[01:10:36] So?
[01:10:36] Well, I'm not called to children's ministry.
[01:10:40] We'll probably figure that out pretty quick.
[01:10:45] Like if you're terrible at something, we'll figure that out, trust me.
[01:10:50] We're a high feedback church here, amen?
[01:10:53] We'll help you out.
[01:10:56] But you know what?
[01:10:57] Most people, I think our church does better than most, but a lot of churches, it's filled with 80% of the people that never get engaged in ministry because they never start.
[01:11:09] They never do anything.
[01:11:11] Well, I don't want to be a greeter.
[01:11:12] I don't want to serve in the parking lot.
[01:11:13] I don't want to get over it and just do it anyway.
[01:11:17] Just do something because in that pathway, God will use that to position you where he wants you.
[01:11:24] Decide this year, I'm going to do something.
[01:11:26] And listen, when you do it, do it 100%.
[01:11:29] Don't be one of those people that signs up and you miss every other time.
[01:11:33] If you sign up to serve and you're here every other week, whatever it is, be here, be early, be great.
[01:11:37] Listen, I used to serve on the parking team, and what I used to do here at Central Campus, nobody wanted to do the circle back in the day.
[01:11:43] Pastor Adam remembers that one.
[01:11:45] We used to have a little bit more of a traffic jam.
[01:11:48] The circle was a little challenging.
[01:11:51] And I used to, I'll do the circle, and I used to go out there and do parking, and I would gamify it.
[01:11:56] I would sit out there in the circle, and I would track how many people I could get to look me in my eye, and I could make them laugh.
[01:12:03] If I can make them smile or laugh, I got a point.
[01:12:07] And then I would learn and memorize the cars of all the elderly ladies of our church and I would spot them and I would get them a closer parking spot.
[01:12:17] That was double points.
[01:12:19] Because if I'm gonna do something, I'm gonna do it.
[01:12:23] And I'm gonna whoop your butt at it.
[01:12:25] Like if we're in the parking lot, I'm gonna beat you.
[01:12:28] I'm gonna be a better parking lot attendant than you are.
[01:12:31] That's just how I'm wired, right?
[01:12:33] Like if I'm gonna do a thing, I'm gonna do it.
[01:12:35] Listen, that's good that you put your heart into something.
[01:12:39] This isn't a negative, you know, competition thing.
[01:12:42] Don't look at it like that.
[01:12:43] But it's fun and you put your heart into something, that's when you're gonna meet people, make connections, come alive.
[01:12:49] That's when you're gonna find that purpose that God has for you.
[01:12:53] Let's say it out loud.
[01:12:54] Say, I'm gonna play.
[01:12:55] to play great in 2026.
[01:12:59] Principle number three, stay present.
[01:13:01] Say stay present.
[01:13:03] Stay present.
[01:13:04] One shot at a time.
[01:13:06] You gotta stay present, man.
[01:13:07] If you're playing golf, you gotta stay present one shot at a time.
[01:13:09] Golf is hard, can I get an amen?
[01:13:11] Those of you who play, golf is hard for some of us more than others.
[01:13:15] I remember years ago, I was playing with Pastor Troy, and he was playing with another pastor who was pretty good.
[01:13:21] Not as good as him, but he was better than me.
[01:13:23] He was a pretty good golfer.
[01:13:25] And I was playing with a guy at our church.
[01:13:27] He came here to Central Campus named Shane.
[01:13:29] Now Shane, big guy, used to play on the Panthers.
[01:13:32] And he was an okay golfer.
[01:13:33] Me and him played about the same.
[01:13:35] We shot about the same.
[01:13:36] So it was the two of us versus Pastor Troy and this other pastor.
[01:13:41] and they should have been beating us but we were just playing out of our mind we were playing so good so we get to the turn we get the hole number 10 we've finished the first nine holes and Pastor Troy no kidding he does this he looks down at the scorecard and he goes yeah this is when Olin's gonna fall apart yeah he's playing way too good no way he keeps this up
[01:14:06] He's gonna look at this scorecard.
[01:14:08] Oh, it's gonna get all in his head.
[01:14:10] He's saying this out loud.
[01:14:12] My own pastor is waging psychological warfare against me.
[01:14:18] Not just a pastor, my pastor.
[01:14:22] Like, you're my pastor.
[01:14:23] And he is waging psychological warfare.
[01:14:26] You know why?
[01:14:26] Because he knew he had played with me before, and whenever I play good, if my mind goes to the next shot, the round, the score,
[01:14:35] I lose my focus.
[01:14:37] I lose my focus.
[01:14:38] Now, it has nothing to do with the sermon.
[01:14:41] I just wanna brag a little bit.
[01:14:43] Me and Shane did hang on, and we whooped him that day.
[01:14:47] Come on, thank you, Jesus.
[01:14:50] To date, that was the only time I'd ever beat PT in golf ever, ever.
[01:14:54] And so just to show you how competitive Pastor Troy is, we get down to the 18th hole.
[01:14:58] I have to hit this long putt.
[01:15:00] for us to win.
[01:15:00] I hit the putt, so we've got the lead.
[01:15:02] He has to make this long putt to tie us.
[01:15:05] He misses.
[01:15:06] So it's over, right?
[01:15:07] But he's got like a little two-foot putt left, so he walks over to tap in the little two-foot putt.
[01:15:12] He goes to tap it in.
[01:15:13] Doesn't matter at all.
[01:15:15] Just taps it in.
[01:15:16] It lips out.
[01:15:18] And Shane, Shane's like a big kid, he goes, oh, that counts, like that.
[01:15:24] And Pastor Troy, he looked up, getting his ball, he looked up.
[01:15:28] It doesn't even matter, Shane.
[01:15:32] He was mad, let me tell you.
[01:15:33] He'll deny it.
[01:15:34] He was angry.
[01:15:35] He was angry.
[01:15:36] Pastor Troy was angry.
[01:15:38] Listen, here's the truth.
[01:15:40] I can't do anything about the last shot.
[01:15:44] Maybe last year was horrible for you.
[01:15:47] Hell on earth.
[01:15:48] Listen, can't change it.
[01:15:51] You can't do anything about the last shot.
[01:15:54] And if I'm thinking about my next shot, I won't execute on the current shot.
[01:16:01] Most of us, most of us live our lives obsessed with yesterday and tomorrow.
[01:16:11] So much so, we never live today.
[01:16:14] We can never give today everything because we're distracted by our past and by some future that hasn't even happened yet.
[01:16:23] Listen, there is only this shot.
[01:16:28] Today is all you've got.
[01:16:30] Paul said, forgetting what lies behind and straightening forward.
[01:16:34] This is a picture of a runner committed to finishing the race.
[01:16:40] Let's say it together.
[01:16:40] Say, I'm gonna play to play great in 2026.
[01:16:45] Say it again.
[01:16:46] You gotta make me believe it now.
[01:16:47] I'm your coach.
[01:16:48] Come on, say, I'm gonna play to play great in 2026.
[01:16:54] Principle number four, embrace mistakes.
[01:16:57] Embrace mistakes as part of the game.
[01:17:01] There's a three iron of mine in a tree on what used to be Lark Haven Golf Course.
[01:17:08] There's a pond there and you have to hit over the pond and I did not clear the pond.
[01:17:15] My ball is still, it sleeps with the fishes.
[01:17:19] We'll say that.
[01:17:20] My poor little golf ball went kaplunk.
[01:17:23] and I think I did it a second time but whatever it was it built up and I lost it and thank God the guy playing with me had the sense to duck because I said something and I I swung that three iron and it still is up in a tree somewhere in those woods now I am not proud of that I am proud to say I have not thrown a club in many many years praise Jesus he is working on me but some of us in this room are still throwing golf clubs
[01:17:53] Some of us emotionally, relationally, when things don't go our way, we're throwing a club.
[01:18:00] You know what that looks like for us as adults?
[01:18:02] It looks like an adult tantrum.
[01:18:05] It looks like I lose my cool.
[01:18:06] I become toxic with the people around me.
[01:18:09] I get angry and vindictive.
[01:18:11] I blame others.
[01:18:12] I beat myself up.
[01:18:14] I cannot handle a loss.
[01:18:18] And that's not maturity in Christ.
[01:18:20] There's a great book I read years ago.
[01:18:22] It's called Thanks for the Feedback.
[01:18:24] Pastor Penny got onto it.
[01:18:25] She loved it.
[01:18:25] And I think now our whole staff here at the church has read the book.
[01:18:28] And it's a phenomenal book that explains that everything in life is feedback.
[01:18:34] Everything is feedback.
[01:18:36] And feedback is your friend.
[01:18:37] When you're driving a car, you turn the wheel, there's feedback.
[01:18:41] The way you feel in a certain way is feedback.
[01:18:44] Your bank account in some form or fact is feedback.
[01:18:47] Everything you do is feedback telling you if what you're doing is working or it's not.
[01:18:54] What does Dr. Bob say about feedback and about mistakes?
[01:18:57] He says, Mistakes don't define the round.
[01:19:00] Expect some misses.
[01:19:02] Don't be surprised by them.
[01:19:04] Use them as information, not condemnation.
[01:19:09] Now, many of you, if you're not golfers, maybe have never heard of this man, but outside of Tiger Woods, he's probably the greatest golfer to ever live.
[01:19:15] His name is Jack Nicklaus.
[01:19:16] Anybody heard of Jack Nicklaus?
[01:19:18] Heard him interviewed years ago, and talking to this reporter, he said, you know the difference between amateur golfers and professional, like really elite golfers?
[01:19:27] And the guy said, you know, well, you guys hit it way further, and you putt way better, and you know how to read the greens, and he's like, no, no, no, no, no.
[01:19:35] He's like, well, what is it?
[01:19:36] He said, it's up here.
[01:19:37] The difference is up here.
[01:19:38] He says, what do you mean?
[01:19:40] And Jack Nicklaus told him, he said, well, you know, I play with all these amateur golfers in these pro-am tournaments before the professional tournament.
[01:19:47] So I'm playing with these amateurs all the time.
[01:19:49] And he says, some of them are really, really good golfers.
[01:19:52] Like, they're good.
[01:19:53] They can really play.
[01:19:54] They're good golfers.
[01:19:55] But he said, at the end of the round,
[01:19:57] He said almost 100% of the time, the way they talk after their round is always the same.
[01:20:02] They go back into the clubhouse and they're like, man, if I wouldn't have hit it so bad on number three, oh, if I wouldn't have pulled that one shot into the water, oh my gosh, that putt on 17, can you believe, I'm an idiot.
[01:20:15] Oh my gosh, I'm so terrible.
[01:20:16] Do you see how three putted on hole number 17?
[01:20:19] He said they are always focused on their misses.
[01:20:23] He said, now, professionals, he said, when I get done with a round of golf, he said, I might shoot 68, 69, 70, that's how many shots he's had that day.
[01:20:33] He said, I'm not sitting here thinking all the shots or thinking about the bad shots.
[01:20:36] He said, I'm thinking about one or two.
[01:20:38] He said, I'm walking off the 18th green.
[01:20:40] He said, you know what I'm saying?
[01:20:41] I'm saying, you know what?
[01:20:43] Man, on number six, I might have hit the best three iron of my life today.
[01:20:48] Man, did you see that putt I made on 18?
[01:20:50] That was clutch.
[01:20:52] What a putt that was and I felt it like I could see the line and I mean I just oh it felt so good he said we rehearse our victories not our losses but how many of us in our everyday lives as Christians all we do is rehearse our failures and our sins and our mistakes
[01:21:16] Woe is me, I'm such a terrible person.
[01:21:19] I've been stuck in this rut for five years.
[01:21:21] I'll never get ahead.
[01:21:22] Oh, I sinned again, I messed up again.
[01:21:24] I always screw everything up.
[01:21:26] You know the problem with thinking like that?
[01:21:29] Jack figured out a long time ago, if he thought about all his misses, the problem is the next day, he's gonna have to make that same shot again.
[01:21:38] And when you rehearse all the failures of your faith, all the weaknesses of your flesh, all the sins that you've committed, that same temptation, that same opportunity, that same challenge, you're gonna face it again.
[01:21:51] And instead of being filled with confidence and faith, you're gonna think about this thousand times you've rehearsed how you failed.
[01:22:00] Don't think that's biblical?
[01:22:03] What did King David say when he had to fight Goliath?
[01:22:06] They said, he's too big.
[01:22:07] He's too strong.
[01:22:08] You're a little guy.
[01:22:09] You can't fight him.
[01:22:10] And what did David say?
[01:22:11] He said, let me tell you something.
[01:22:13] I keep after my father's sheep.
[01:22:16] And when the lion came, I grabbed him by the beard and I knocked him out.
[01:22:21] I killed him.
[01:22:22] When the bear came after the sheep, you know what happened?
[01:22:25] I ran him down and I grabbed him by the beard and I killed him.
[01:22:28] You know what David was saying?
[01:22:29] He said, if my God could come through for me with the bear, if my God could come through for me with the lion, who is this uncircumcised Philistine?
[01:22:38] My God will come through yet again.
[01:22:41] And if you develop the habit not of rehearsing your weaknesses and your mistakes, but in rehearsing all the times that God has forgiven you, that God has encouraged you, that God has come through for you, that God has healed you, that God has delivered you, that God has empowered you.
[01:22:59] Then when you face that challenge, you'll say, who is this uncircumcised Philistine to stand in my way?
[01:23:06] What is a cancer diagnosis when I know who my God is?
[01:23:09] When I've seen Him deliver me time and time again, He put the lion and the bear in my hand, this will be no different.
[01:23:17] It's a different way of thinking, not confidence in myself, but confidence in my God.
[01:23:25] To know even when I sin, I've sinned before, He forgave me.
[01:23:29] He cleaned me up.
[01:23:31] He lifted me up out of the mire and the clay and He placed me on a firm foundation.
[01:23:37] He can do it again.
[01:23:38] Because so often in our guilt and our shame we turn away from God and God says, no, turn to me.
[01:23:45] I want to equip you.
[01:23:47] I want to help you.
[01:23:48] I want to be with you.
[01:23:50] Instead of allowing Satan to use our sins to condemn us in 2026, let's turn to God and let's allow him to forgive us and to transform us.
[01:24:02] Let's say it together.
[01:24:02] Say, I'm gonna play.
[01:24:04] To play great in 2026.
[01:24:08] Last principle, principle number five, trust God.
[01:24:11] Your training in your identity.
[01:24:14] Trust your training in your identity.
[01:24:17] This one is essential and it's also extremely biblical.
[01:24:21] Look with me, Philippians chapter three.
[01:24:23] Now we're gonna go back a couple verses.
[01:24:24] This is verse seven to nine.
[01:24:27] and Paul says but whatever gain I had I counted as loss for the sake of Christ indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord for his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law it's not my works it's not the law it's not following the rules but that which comes through faith in Christ
[01:24:57] The righteousness from God that depends on faith.
[01:25:02] Athletes leave everything behind to become their best.
[01:25:05] Christians leave everything behind to receive His best.
[01:25:11] See, repentance is turning our back on our past, walking forward into what God has for us, not based on who I am or even what I can do, but based on who He is and what He has already done.
[01:25:25] It's assurance that if I leave everything I've had, that I count it as valuable, as important, and I throw it all away, and I turn to Christ, that He will come and He will live in me.
[01:25:38] He will make me who He wants me to be.
[01:25:41] Our identity comes from our Savior.
[01:25:44] Our standing comes from our Savior.
[01:25:46] And so while an athlete trusted his or her training or practice, we trust in the source of our identity and our calling.
[01:25:55] I can trust in Him.
[01:25:58] I don't have to trust in me.
[01:26:00] I don't have to be nervous I'm not going to perform.
[01:26:03] He's already performed.
[01:26:05] and I can trust in that.
[01:26:07] Let's say it again together.
[01:26:08] Say, I'm gonna play to play great in 2026.
[01:26:12] Say, I'm gonna play to play great in 2026.
[01:26:20] Maybe that's your marriage.
[01:26:21] You know what?
[01:26:21] You can have the best marriage of anybody you've ever met.
[01:26:26] Some of you might, no, you don't know.
[01:26:28] You can have it.
[01:26:30] You can have it.
[01:26:31] Maybe it's physical.
[01:26:33] There's sickness in your body.
[01:26:35] Listen, we serve a God that's a healer.
[01:26:38] But so many of us, when you really boil all of this down, it comes down to this.
[01:26:43] We've gotta stop being results-oriented in our thinking, and we've gotta be process-oriented.
[01:26:48] What does that mean?
[01:26:51] It means, man, I really need some money this year.
[01:26:54] No, you don't.
[01:26:56] You need to become the type of person that doesn't have money problems.
[01:27:02] I really want to get past this this this shame and guilt in my life and these sinful habits in my life I need to stop doing this stop doing no no no no no no you need to become the type of person that lives free from sin because you walk so close with Jesus
[01:27:20] If you develop the processes in your life that lead to victory and success, if you take the limiting thoughts off this year, there's no limit for me, I'm gonna be everything, I'm gonna do everything that God has called me to be and to do this year.
[01:27:37] And you create these processes, then listen, no matter what comes your way,
[01:27:43] Whether it's a cancer diagnosis, a lost job, a financial whatever, somebody betraying you, relational issues, doesn't matter.
[01:27:51] Every day you wake up, I'm good.
[01:27:54] Because I got a process.
[01:27:56] I'm gonna spend time with Jesus this morning.
[01:27:59] I'm gonna grow in my walk with Him.
[01:28:01] I'm gonna be closer to Him today.
[01:28:02] I'm gonna be more obedient to Him today.
[01:28:04] I'm gonna be in the Word today.
[01:28:06] And because I do that each and every day, doesn't matter what life throws my way, and I serve the King of Kings anyway.
[01:28:14] No matter what, He's in control.
[01:28:17] But I've got confidence that if I'm obedient and faithful and I do the things God has called me to do, man, victory becomes inevitable.
[01:28:28] I'm going to share one last thing and we're going to pray.
[01:28:33] Go ahead and stand to your feet.
[01:28:37] A funny little thing I've shared before about me and ball games.
[01:28:43] I get really emotional, especially about the Tar Heels.
[01:28:47] For those of you who know me, I'm a pretty crazy Tar Heel fan.
[01:28:51] And what I'll do is if it's a championship game, a game that I guess gets my heart like it's just too much, I will record the game, wait and see who wins, and then go back.
[01:29:04] So like if we win, I go watch it.
[01:29:07] And I'm like, this is great.
[01:29:10] Because no matter what, we're down.
[01:29:12] Doesn't matter, we're winning.
[01:29:13] I'm just eating popcorn, you know, like this is great.
[01:29:16] I'm just watching how we win this game.
[01:29:18] If we lose, I don't want to watch that anyway.
[01:29:21] Just delete, right?
[01:29:24] Listen, as a Christian, that's how we should live our whole life.
[01:29:29] No matter what comes your way, you can just kick your feet up, smile on your face.
[01:29:34] Yeah, but that's a big deal.
[01:29:36] That's life or death.
[01:29:38] It doesn't matter.
[01:29:38] I've read the end of the book.
[01:29:39] I win.
[01:29:41] It doesn't matter what happens today, what happens next week, what happens this month.
[01:29:46] It doesn't matter what February 2026.
[01:29:48] I've read the book.
[01:29:50] At the end of the day, we win, I win, because I'm with Him.
[01:29:55] And all the stress goes away.
[01:30:00] Man, what a way to live.
[01:30:03] Do you want to play your best this year?
[01:30:06] Do you want to be your best this year for Jesus?
[01:30:10] I want to ask you to take a moment, bow your head, close your eyes.
[01:30:14] Maybe you're here today and you've never made a hard commitment to serve Jesus, to give Him your heart, your life.
[01:30:24] I want to give you an opportunity to do that right now.
[01:30:27] You've heard the gospel today.
[01:30:29] It's not about our performance.
[01:30:31] None of us are good enough.
[01:30:32] We've all sinned.
[01:30:33] We've all fallen short.
[01:30:34] But Jesus, Jesus came.
[01:30:37] He died on the cross for our sins.
[01:30:41] Why?
[01:30:41] Because He loves us and He wants us to live that life, that best life that He has for us, that potential, and He wants to walk with us every single day.
[01:30:52] If you're here today and you've never made Jesus your Lord and Savior, I want to ask you to do something bold right now.
[01:30:58] I want to ask you to lift up your hand and just say yes to Him.
[01:31:02] Just respond to Him right now and say yes to God.
[01:31:05] I need you, God.
[01:31:06] Yes, I want you in my life.
[01:31:08] I want to be who you've called me to be this year.
[01:31:11] Amen.
[01:31:12] If you're online, there's a button you can push in the chat.
[01:31:14] We've got folks that will pray with you, connect with you.
[01:31:17] We want you to be a part of this with us.
[01:31:20] Church, let's pray right now with all those that raised their hand.
[01:31:23] And listen, this prayer is for all of us.
[01:31:27] If you've been saved 20 years, listen, this prayer is for you.
[01:31:30] Because we're gonna boldly declare what we're gonna do, what God is gonna do, what we're gonna open our hearts to Him to do in 2026.
[01:31:38] So let's pray this together.
[01:31:39] Say, Father God.
[01:31:41] Thank you for sending Jesus to die on a cross for my sins so that I could be yours.
[01:31:51] I believe in Jesus.
[01:31:54] I trust in Jesus, in His death, in His resurrection, in His life.
[01:32:02] I believe He has power to change me from the inside out.
[01:32:07] And I ask you right now,
[01:32:10] God, fill me up with your Holy Spirit that I can live boldly for you this year.
[01:32:17] No more limits.
[01:32:20] I renounce every demonic lie that would say I can't in Jesus' name.
[01:32:30] I can, I will believe you this year.
[01:32:35] I will see you move in my life
[01:32:39] and I receive it right now by faith in Jesus' name.
[01:32:45] Amen, amen.
[01:32:46] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_07]:
Amen, amen.
[01:32:48] Amen.
[01:32:48] Come on.
[01:32:51] Man, thank you Coach Pastor Olin for that message.
[01:32:55] I'm gonna play to play great in 2026 and if you just accepted Jesus, you made the best decision.
[01:33:01] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_08]:
Can we give it up for every single person who's accepted?
[01:33:05] Like the angels are like freaking out in heaven right now.
[01:33:07] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_07]:
That's right.
[01:33:08] if you just made that decision we'd love to meet you we'd love to get a free gift in your hand help equip you to live out this Christian life and if it's your first time we'd love to meet you as well if you fall in either one of those categories stop by our guest central right inside the auditorium doors as you leave today and if you've been around freedom house for a while you know we have a lot that is going on so to help

[01:34:08] Because what's going to happen is you're going to take the card, you're going to get home, and then you're going to forget like we all do because we've got a million things going on.
[01:34:13] Go ahead and stand in that lobby.
[01:34:15] Scroll through the options.
[01:34:16] Find what fits your season because there's something for you.
[01:34:20] We are better when we are together.
[01:34:22] It's not just a cute slogan that we put on a t-shirt.
[01:34:24] It's real life.
[01:34:25] So make sure you sign up for a life group before you leave today.
[01:34:27] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_07]:
That's it.
[01:34:27] There's a life group for you.
[01:34:28] Go check them out.
[01:34:30] Freedom House, we love you.
[01:34:30] We'll see you next week.
[01:34:31] You are dismissed.
