The Ark and the Cross: Finding Rest in a Better Noah

The sermon is a strong example of Christ-centered, typological preaching from the Old Testament. The speaker successfully presents Jesus as the fulfillment of the Noah narrative, grounding the application in the doctrines of grace, atonement, and new creation. The core theological propositions are sound. However, a significant point of pastoral concern is the reliance on subjective claims of divine revelation ('God told me'), which, while used for a positive end (evangelism), undermines the formal principle of Sola Scriptura and requires correction.

❓ What do these grades mean?
🔍 Biblical Discernment: The 7 Church Parallels
The Faithful Parallels Smyrna • Philadelphia
Teaching that parallels the churches that endure suffering with true spiritual riches (Rev 2:9) and keep the Word of Christ without denial despite having "little strength" (Rev 3:8).
The Cold Orthodox Parallel Ephesus
Teaching that upholds doctrinal precision yet parallels the loss of the "first love"—the vital, motivating power of the Gospel (Rev 2:4).
The Formalist Parallels Sardis • Laodicea
Teaching that parallels churches relying on a reputation of being alive while being spiritually dead (Rev 3:1), or resting in lukewarm self-sufficiency, claiming to be "rich" while spiritually bankrupt (Rev 3:17).
The Compromised Parallels Pergamum • Thyatira
Teaching that parallels churches tolerating the "doctrine of Balaam" through cultural accommodation (Rev 2:14), or allowing seductive teachings that lead the flock into false gospels and immorality (Rev 2:20).

🧐 Overview

Sermon Summary: This sermon powerfully connects the ancient story of Noah's ark to the cross of Jesus, revealing how the ark was a wooden vessel of grace pointing to an even greater salvation. It explores themes of God's justice, mercy, and the ultimate rest found only in Christ.

Big Idea: Sin flooded the earth, but Jesus flooded the earth with peace, grace, and rest. [00:42:36 ▶️ 📄]

Pastoral Analysis: The sermon is a strong example of Christ-centered, typological preaching from the Old Testament.

Biblical Parallel(Archetype): Ephesus — The sermon demonstrates commendable doctrinal soundness and tests truth claims (John 5:39), but the use of extra-biblical subjective authority ('God told me') represents a subtle departure from a 'first love' of Scripture's total sufficiency.

🧭 Biblical Alignment Dashboard

Overall Verdict: Biblically Sound

CategoryStatusReasoning
Soteriology ✅ PASS The sermon clearly articulates salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It defines sin as rebellion against God and presents Christ's atoning work on the cross as the sole remedy, functionally affirming a monergistic view of salvation.
Bibliology ✅ PASS The sermon affirms the authority and Christ-centered nature of Scripture, explicitly using John 5:39 as a hermeneutical key. However, the subjective authority claims noted in 'Primary Errors' create a tension with the doctrine of Scripture's sufficiency.
Hermeneutic ✅ PASS The hermeneutical approach is intentionally Christocentric and typological. The preacher effectively demonstrates how Old Testament narratives find their ultimate meaning and fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Theology Proper ✅ PASS God is presented as holy, just in His wrath against sin, yet profoundly merciful, patient, and gracious in providing a means of salvation. The sermon avoids the error of Marcionism by showing the unity of God's character in both judgment and redemption.

📖 How they Handle Scripture & Jesus

Primary Text: Genesis 6:5-8 (Expository (Deep))

Scripture Saturation: Verses Read: 19 | Referenced: 4 | Alluded: 3

Key References: Exodus, Torah, Ten Commandments, Leviticus 16

Christological Connection: Typology: The sermon establishes Jesus as the 'Better Noah.' The Ark (wood) is a type of the Cross (wood), and the pitch (Hebrew: Kippur/Atonement) is used as a direct typological link to Christ's atoning blood, demonstrating a redemptive trajectory from Genesis to the New Testament.

🧱 Sermon Outline

  • Jesus flooded the earth with peace, grace, and rest. [00:42:30 ▶️ 📄] : Noah's name means rest/peace, and he found favor (grace). Jesus is the giver of peace, grace, and rest.
  • The ark was God's grace in wood form. The cross is God's grace in wood form. [00:55:11 ▶️ 📄] : The pitch (Kippur/atonement) used to seal the ark points to the cross, which is the ultimate atonement.
  • Jesus, the better Noah, brings us into a new creation. [01:01:57 ▶️ 📄] : Noah landed on new land; Jesus takes us through the empty tomb to the new heaven and new earth where there is no more death, grief, or pain.

🗝️ Key Topics & Themes

  • Jesus is Better : Jesus is presented as the fulfillment and superior reality to the Old Testament figure, Noah.
  • Grace and Rest : The connection between Noah's name (rest/peace) and finding favor (grace) to Jesus's offer of rest and grace.
  • Atonement (Kippur) : The Hebrew word for pitch (Kippur) used on the ark is the same word for atonement, linking the ark to the cross.
  • New Creation : The ultimate hope of the resurrection and the new heaven and earth where God dwells with humanity.

✅ Commendations

Hermeneutics | Excellent Christocentric Interpretation

The entire sermon was skillfully built on the principle articulated in John 5:39, showing that the Old Testament testifies of Christ. The typological connections between the ark, the wood, the 'covering' (atonement), and the cross were powerful and biblically grounded.

Soteriology | Clear Presentation of the Gospel

The explanation of grace, sin as cosmic rebellion, and Christ's substitutionary atonement was clear, passionate, and accessible. The call to faith was a call to trust in a finished work, not to initiate a new one.

Pastoral Application | Effective Engagement with Guilt and Shame

The sermon correctly identified guilt and shame as consequences of sin and rightly pointed to the grace of God in Christ as the only true remedy, offering genuine hope rather than behavior modification.

⚠️ Theological Concerns

🟠 Appeal to Subjective Authority

Root Cause: Neo-Montanism: This error reflects a modern form of Montanism, which claimed new, continuing prophecy and revelation from the Holy Spirit that was considered authoritative alongside Scripture. It prioritizes subjective experience over the objective, closed canon of the Word.

"I believe God told me to invite you to church." [00:57:46 ▶️ 📄]

Correction: The Bible is the complete and sufficient Word of God. We are warned not to add to it (Revelation 22:18). The Spirit's role is to illuminate the written Word (John 16:13-14), not to provide new, binding revelation. Our confidence must rest in 'Thus saith the Lord' as written in Scripture, not in subjective impressions.

📝 Other Corrections & Notes

  • The word pitch in Hebrew is Kippur, which is the same word for atonement.Correction: The Hebrew word for 'pitch' in Genesis 6:14 is 'kopher.' The word for 'atonement' is 'kippur.' While they share the same consonantal root (k-p-r), meaning 'to cover,' they are not the same word. The theological connection is valid and powerful, but the linguistic claim is imprecise. (Genesis 6:14, Leviticus 16:6)
  • Before you could advance to become an adult Pharisee by the age of 12... you had to know Genesis to Malachi.Correction: This is a historical exaggeration. While the education of a Pharisee was exceptionally rigorous, especially concerning the Torah (the first five books), memorization of the entire Tanakh (Old Testament) by age 12 was not a standard requirement and is not historically verifiable. (Standard historical sources on Second Temple Judaism.)

🧠 Questions for Reflection

Use these questions for personal study or small group discussion:

  • The pastor described sin as a 'cosmic rebellion' against God. Do you see the problems in the world and in your own life as stemming from a broken relationship with our Creator?
  • The sermon presented the ark as a picture of salvation, a safe place from God's judgment. How does the idea of Jesus's cross being a similar 'ark' of safety for our souls strike you?
  • The pastor spoke of a 'new creation' where God will wipe away every tear. Does the hope of a world without pain, death, or grief, in the presence of a loving God, appeal to you?

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_03]:
He is worthy.
[00:22:48] What a way to start our time together.
[00:22:50] Transformation Church, can we give it up one more time for our incredible music team?
[00:22:57] We will exalt you.
[00:22:59] Amen and amen.
[00:23:00] Well, welcome to Transformation Church.
[00:23:02] Go ahead and have a seat.
[00:23:04] My name is Winnie Erb.
[00:23:05] We are so glad that you're here with us today.
[00:23:08] Maybe it's your first time.
[00:23:10] We want to say good morning, welcome.
[00:23:12] We're so glad that you're here.
[00:23:13] And we'd love to invite you out to the Next Steps area at the end of the service.
[00:23:18] The team there would love to meet you and give you a gift, a copy of Pastor Derwin's book, The Good Life.
[00:23:24] Really, this is just our way of saying thanks so much for being here with us today.
[00:23:28] Now, no matter how long you've been here, I wanna invite you to get better connected here at Transformation Church.
[00:23:34] Now, a quick way to do that is the connection card that's in the seat back right in front of you.
[00:23:39] You can fill that out and jump in.
[00:23:42] and be a part of what God is doing here.
[00:23:44] Trust me, He is moving in incredible ways.
[00:23:48] And we wanna invite you to walk alongside and be a part of all that He's doing in and through Transformation Church.
[00:23:56] Well now it's time for us to have our financial generosity to worship through our financial generosity.
[00:24:04] We have a God that is good and faithful and worthy and He has gone over and beyond by giving us His first and best.
[00:24:14] Our financial generosity gets to be a beautiful reflection and response to that when we go over and beyond and give our first and best.
[00:24:23] Now here at TC there are multiple ways that you can give generously you can hop online you can utilize our app or if you're here in the room you can also utilize our generosity drop boxes on the way out but ultimately this is a way that we get to worship through our financial giving we have a good and generous God what a beautiful way to worship and be a reflection of that
[00:24:45] Now another way that we get to worship through generosity is a special thing that we do called Roll Out Hope.
[00:24:52] This is a beautiful thing that Transformation Church is we get to walk in generosity and love our community well.
[00:24:59] Now I want you to hear just a little bit more about it.
[00:25:01] So take a look at this.

[00:25:07] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_00]:
As Christmas approaches, many of us plan to celebrate by making memories with our family and friends through gift-giving meals and traditions.
[00:25:16] Yet, for many families in our community, this season doesn't feel like a celebration.
[00:25:22] Through Roll Out Hope, we get to provide hope and affirm dignity for families by equipping them to make their own Christmas memories.
[00:25:30] It all starts as we purchase gifts from our online wish list.
[00:25:34] Each gift has been individually selected for a specific child and affirms that child's God-given interests.
[00:25:41] Then, those gifts are delivered to Transformation Church, where we organize and get them ready to distribute directly to the parents and guardians.
[00:25:49] Along with each gift, we provide everything the family needs to wrap their gifts and prepare a Christmas meal so that they can create their very own Christmas experience.
[00:25:59] As we enter this Christmas season, we have the opportunity to bring hope, give generously, and reflect God's faithfulness to the families in our community.
[00:26:08] Join us as we roll out hope together.

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_04]:
All right, let's give a big Transformation Church welcome to all of our guests at TC Indialand, TC Lake Wiley, and to our friends that are tuning in from Fort Mill to Brazil.
[00:26:24] And I especially want to give a big welcome to those of you who especially feel like you've done too much, you're unforgivable, your sin is too great for God.
[00:26:35] You are in the right place.
[00:26:38] And here's why.
[00:26:39] Your grace, God's grace is greater than your sin.
[00:26:43] No matter how far you've traveled, the distance is not too far along for God to come and get you.
[00:26:48] You are welcome here.
[00:26:51] This is a house of God's grace, all right?
[00:26:54] Yeah.
[00:26:58] Secondly, let's give it up to the over 1,400 correctional facility partnerships that are tuning in.
[00:27:05] The mighty men, incredible women of God.
[00:27:09] Think about this.
[00:27:10] We have more people who are in correctional facilities that are tuning in to our messages than outside.
[00:27:16] That is a gift.
[00:27:17] Let's give it up for the TC family.
[00:27:20] You guys look beautiful.
[00:27:21] Welcome, welcome, welcome.
[00:27:23] Glad to see you.
[00:27:24] So before I dive into the sermon, the one and only,
[00:27:28] Our chief of staff, my girlfriend.
[00:27:33] Me and my girlfriend.
[00:27:35] One and only Vicki Gray has an announcement.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]:
Transformation Church, so good to see you all.
[00:27:44] We have an exciting and unique opportunity coming our way.
[00:27:48] So December 14th, we are gonna have All Give Sunday.
[00:27:54] This is the first time in our 15 plus years of existence that we've ever done this.
[00:28:00] We want to try something different where people get the opportunity to participate all together.
[00:28:07] And so this gives us an opportunity.
[00:28:10] So we're inviting the entire TC community, and this is from like the babies on up through the teens to our most seasoned saints.
[00:28:19] What we're aiming for and praying for is 100% participation.
[00:28:24] This isn't about the amount of money raised.
[00:28:26] Please, I want you to hear that first and foremost.
[00:28:29] This is about a lot of people taking their first step to say, I trust God because this is His money anyways.
[00:28:37] This is an opportunity for us to do it together and then corporately experience the power that happens when the entire body of Christ participates.
[00:28:47] And so we want to ask you to pray about, first of all, if you already regularly tithe and give to Transformation Church, thank you for joining us on bringing His kingdom here to earth.
[00:28:59] and we just ask that you would pray like maybe this is an opportunity God wants you to give above and beyond what you normally give but if you have never given before we want to invite you in for this opportunity and again it's not about the amount it's about the heart that says Lord the same way I worship you through singing those incredible songs the same way I want to worship by giving this back to you and so we are going to be doing that on Sunday
[00:29:27] December 14th, we're calling it our All Give Sunday because we're all in, we all give, and it's all for God's glory.

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_04]:
Amen.
[00:29:40] Ain't no woman like the one I got.
[00:29:43] Listen, I ain't heard a word she said.
[00:29:47] So I hope y'all heard what she said.
[00:29:50] I've been married 33 years.
[00:29:51] Praise God.
[00:29:55] By the way, husbands, I hope your wives know how much you are attracted to them, that you make them feel like they first, like when y'all first met, you know, when you used to write that terrible poetry and stuff.
[00:30:07] It's the heart that counts, brother.
[00:30:08] It's the heart that counts.
[00:30:10] And you ready for this?
[00:30:11] You can get flowers on days you're not supposed to.
[00:30:21] All right, guys, so let me pause real quick.
[00:30:24] So if you're new here, you're like, oh, here they go.
[00:30:26] Church is always talking about money.
[00:30:28] So let me pause here.
[00:30:30] First of all, God ain't broke, you are.
[00:30:34] Secondly, secondly, I know, right?
[00:30:36] Secondly, secondly, God doesn't want something from you.
[00:30:39] He wants something for you.
[00:30:41] What does He want for you?
[00:30:42] Number one, He wants for you not to have anxiety over money.
[00:30:47] Number two, He doesn't want you to mismanage His money.
[00:30:50] Number three, He wants you to have a generous heart.
[00:30:54] He doesn't want you to have greed because what we idolize deforms us.
[00:31:00] What we worship transforms us.
[00:31:03] And so generosity is our way of giving back to God.
[00:31:06] So you see this big old building.
[00:31:07] Do you think it just fell out of heaven one day?
[00:31:10] No.
[00:31:10] There were people like me and so many others who generously gave.
[00:31:14] Why?
[00:31:14] Because we have one mission, one mission only.
[00:31:16] We want to reach the world with the greatest news that there is.
[00:31:21] And guess what we're going to do?
[00:31:23] Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself, but I can't help it.
[00:31:24] We're going to get Bibles translated for two tribes in Nigeria that don't have the Bible in their own language.
[00:31:35] That's a big deal.
[00:31:36] And there's a lot of other things we're gonna do.
[00:31:39] I don't know if you know this, but we've been feeding 500 plus people a month for years through our free grocery store.
[00:31:48] I don't know if you know this, but over the last three to four years, we've paid off nearly $30 million of medical debt
[00:31:56] for people all this is online by the way if you go there and look so so we're not we're not we're not trying to do a hustle or a grift god ain't broke we're broke he wants to fix us to give us hearts of generosity i cannot wait for december 14th for those of you online we can all participate and it's going to be great it's going to be great i'm super super excited about it so let's pray about that then i got another thing i need to say uh lord on all give sunday it's not about amount it's about how much of amount you have of our hearts
[00:32:27] What we behold takes hold of us, and we want to see you for all that you're worth, Lord.
[00:32:31] You are God the Father's first and best.
[00:32:34] You gave your life so that we could have life.
[00:32:36] When we give back to you financially, it's not we have to, it's I want to, I get to.
[00:32:44] and Lord bless us to be a blessing in Jesus name.
[00:32:46] Amen, amen and amen.
[00:32:49] Okay, if you're new to Transformation Church, we talk about difficult issues because we believe that Jesus is Lord over all of life.
[00:32:57] And so we need to talk about what's happening in our community.
[00:33:00] So as followers of Jesus, shaped by Jesus, we believe that border security,
[00:33:09] Immigration and human dignity don't compete against each other.
[00:33:16] You can have strong borders, you can have immigration, and you can have human dignity.
[00:33:25] It doesn't have to be bifurcated, and please, follower of Jesus, do not let politicians pimp you into becoming what God did not create you to be.
[00:33:37] You can be loving, and you can be just.
[00:33:41] Now, the email I'm gonna get, and you can send it to school, you can say, well, Pastor, what should you do?
[00:33:45] How should you do it?
[00:33:46] They didn't hire me on immigration and ICE.
[00:33:48] That ain't my job.
[00:33:51] Why I gotta have an answer for it?
[00:33:52] Can't I just say, hey, if you guys are the professionals, let's do things in such a way that human dignity is honored.
[00:34:00] and that national security is honored and immigration as well.
[00:34:03] Speaking of immigration, for those of you who don't know, there's a lot of conversations I have with a bunch of people that I'm not gonna name that would shock you.
[00:34:10] So I'm just gonna say that, but I will say this.
[00:34:12] I've been to Capitol Hill, put on a suit and tie and everything to lobby for immigration reform.
[00:34:17] I talked to donkeys, I talked to elephants and I came back and talked to my wife and I said I'd never do it again.
[00:34:24] It was the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced
[00:34:29] You walk into a room and immediately, no immigration deal's gonna get done until the Democrats do this.
[00:34:35] No immigration deal's gonna get done until the Republicans do this.
[00:34:38] How about for Americans?
[00:34:41] Aren't we the United States of America?
[00:34:46] Friends, do not let social algorithms on Instagram brainwash you.
[00:34:53] Wash your mind in the Scriptures.
[00:34:56] Read your Bible.
[00:34:58] Respectfully, some of you spend more time listening to podcasters who are paid by political organizations than you do listening to the voice of God.
[00:35:08] Get in your word.
[00:35:09] Don't let nobody harden your heart.
[00:35:13] Now, since we're here, as you guys know, we partner with A21.
[00:35:19] It is a sex trafficking organization, human trafficking.
[00:35:22] Charlotte is one of the worst places in the United States for human trafficking.
[00:35:26] So we've partnered with 821 for years.
[00:35:28] I've been to places in Greece that for anybody who does not believe in hell, you need to go see a child abused and quickly you'll begin to believe in hell.
[00:35:39] So listen, pedophilia is not a political discussion.
[00:35:44] Do not politicize pedophilia.
[00:35:48] by anybody or anyone.
[00:35:51] Do you know the hell that people have gotta go through who've been abused like that?
[00:35:55] The mental health challenges that they have to go through.
[00:35:58] Please do not politicize evil.
[00:36:01] Evil is evil and there must be justice.
[00:36:04] Regardless of who does it.
[00:36:08] Last thing.
[00:36:11] I'm gonna introduce you to a term.
[00:36:12] Digital segregation.
[00:36:15] Digital segregation means this.
[00:36:18] What you like on the internet will give you more of it.
[00:36:23] Some of you may not even know the other part of news because you only get what reinforces your ideas.
[00:36:30] You know what that's called?
[00:36:31] Ignorance.
[00:36:34] So please, make sure you look at other things.
[00:36:39] But more importantly, instead of Facebook, get in a good book.
[00:36:44] Instead of the Gram, get in a Grace.
[00:36:48] Instead of X, look to the cross.
[00:36:50] Oh, y'all ain't picking up what I'm putting down.
[00:36:55] Okay, now I got 19 minutes and 48 seconds to do my sermon.
[00:37:00] Let's get it.
[00:37:01] So, we're working through a series called Better.
[00:37:03] Jesus is Better.
[00:37:05] And what we're learning is this primarily, is how to read the Bible.
[00:37:09] A crimson cord of grace weaves through every page of the Bible, telling one story, pointing to one name, Jesus, the Savior, whose love floods
[00:37:19] Redemption into the hearts of humanity.
[00:37:22] Redemption is a big word.
[00:37:23] It's an ancient word that's been used for thousands of years.
[00:37:26] We see it as followers of Jesus first in the book of Exodus when the children of Israel were slaves in Egypt, they were redeemed.
[00:37:33] Redeemed primarily means you have bought the freedom of a slave.
[00:37:37] Well, you and I were slaves to sin and death.
[00:37:40] Do you know anybody that's sinless other than Jesus?
[00:37:43] No.
[00:37:43] Do you know anybody that's lived forever?
[00:37:45] No.
[00:37:45] So we're all gonna die and we all have sin and we need somebody to save us.
[00:37:49] And so the Crimson Cord represents the blood of Jesus and how he saves us by his work on the cross and empowers us to live from the power of the cross.
[00:38:01] And because of his resurrection, we too were raised from the dead.
[00:38:05] And so if you come to Transformation Church a lot, you will hear me talk about Jesus a lot.
[00:38:11] Don't be shocked.
[00:38:13] This is his house.
[00:38:14] It's His story.
[00:38:16] Oh, don't get me started.
[00:38:17] It's His glory.
[00:38:18] You don't need no self-help.
[00:38:19] We need the King of Glory to help us.
[00:38:22] The reason why I preach and teach the way I preach is because I learned it from Jesus that all of Scripture testifies to Him.
[00:38:31] Where do I get that from?
[00:38:32] Glad you asked.
[00:38:34] Let's skedaddle over to John chapter 5, 39 through 40.
[00:38:39] Teenagers, young adults, Gen Z, here's the context.
[00:38:44] Jesus is in a conversation with the Pharisees.
[00:38:46] On the count of three, say Pharisee with me.
[00:38:47] One, two, three, Pharisee.
[00:38:48] The word Pharisee means separate one.
[00:38:50] It was a group of about six to seven thousand Jewish men only.
[00:38:54] And their goal was to help the nation of Israel live out the Torah.
[00:38:59] Torah is the first five books of the Bible.
[00:39:01] They took the Ten Commandments.
[00:39:02] The first four, love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
[00:39:06] The next six, love your neighbor as you love yourself.
[00:39:08] They took the ten, but through the Torah,
[00:39:11] They found 603 other laws and said there's 613 laws that we need to follow.
[00:39:16] If we follow it, guess who's coming back?
[00:39:18] The Hamashiach, the Messiah.
[00:39:22] Ooh, and he coming back.
[00:39:23] And you know what he coming back to do?
[00:39:25] Not save nobody.
[00:39:26] He coming back to crush heads.
[00:39:28] He gonna kick the Romans out.
[00:39:31] Many of them wanted Jesus to make Israel great again, not to show how great of a savior he was.
[00:39:39] So that's why they wanted him to come.
[00:39:42] So Jesus is talking to them about what the scriptures are about.
[00:39:47] And he says, you pour over the scriptures.
[00:39:51] So before you could advance to become an adult Pharisee by the age of 12, listen to this, you had to know Genesis to Malachi.
[00:39:59] Not just like little parts, you had to know the themes of the Bible, the major characters of the Bible.
[00:40:04] So in Bible challenge questions, they beat all of us.
[00:40:08] Like they poured their lives into it.
[00:40:11] Why?
[00:40:12] Because you think you have eternal life in them.
[00:40:19] Did you know you can read the Bible but not walk by faith in the one who wrote the Bible?
[00:40:28] Did you know that you can have scripture memorized but you don't obey the scripture that you've memorized?
[00:40:37] Knowing the Bible just means you got Bible knowledge.
[00:40:43] The goal is not just to know the scripture.
[00:40:47] The goal is to know the one who scripture points to.
[00:40:52] I'm not making this up, it's right here.
[00:40:55] You pour over the scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them and yet they testify about me.
[00:41:06] but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have zoe, life.
[00:41:13] This is God's kind of life.
[00:41:15] This is God sharing his life with you to be born again.
[00:41:18] This is one of the saddest parts of all of scripture is you have these Bible knowledge Pharisees who spent their whole life reading the scripture and the one that the scripture testifies to is looking them in their eyes.
[00:41:34] He's right there saying, I'm here.
[00:41:37] Hey friends, He's here.
[00:41:41] Come to Him.
[00:41:43] Not Derwin, I can't help you at all.
[00:41:46] No, no, come to Him, that supernaturally, through the preached word and the Holy Spirit, you can come to Him.
[00:41:53] There's an open invitation, and it's not just for non-Christians to come to Him.
[00:41:58] We continue to come to Jesus.
[00:41:59] Oh my God, we can never run empty on a God who is endless in mercy and kindness and goodness, that every day is a perpetual novelty of His magnificence.
[00:42:11] Do you know who I'm talking about?
[00:42:13] Have you met Him that way?
[00:42:16] Hey, one of the greatest days of your faith is when you are in the thick of it and all you can do is just say, Jesus, I just want you.
[00:42:28] All right, let's dive into it.
[00:42:30] So we're gonna go with our man, Noah.
[00:42:32] How is Jesus a better Noah?
[00:42:36] Sin flooded the earth, but Jesus flooded the earth with peace, grace, and rest.
[00:42:44] Jesus is a better Noah.
[00:42:47] Let me give you the background really quick.
[00:42:48] So when God creates the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, when God creates, it's not because he's lonely, he's a community of three people.
[00:42:55] So when God creates,
[00:42:57] He wants to share what he's had all eternity, a love fest.
[00:43:01] Adam and Eve were created as image bearers.
[00:43:03] God doesn't have flesh or bones.
[00:43:05] It means the ability to rule in the rain, to think, to love.
[00:43:08] And God wants Adam and Eve, get married, have a bunch of babies, and send my glory throughout the earth.
[00:43:15] All you gotta do is trust me.
[00:43:16] Everything I have is yours.
[00:43:18] Trust me.
[00:43:18] And of course, Adam and Eve don't trust him.
[00:43:20] When they do that, sin enters the world.
[00:43:22] The world gets jacked up, toe up from the flow up.
[00:43:25] What does God do?
[00:43:26] He puts them in exile, but he covers them.
[00:43:29] Then they have some babies, and eventually you get to Noah.
[00:43:32] Things are going all right with Noah.
[00:43:34] Then it just get buck wild.
[00:43:35] Translation, buck wild, his peoples was crazy.
[00:43:39] That's the Hebrew translation.
[00:43:41] Here we go.
[00:43:42] Genesis chapter six, five through seven.
[00:43:45] When the Lord saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth, and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time,
[00:43:56] The Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth and was deeply grieved.
[00:44:08] The Lord said, I will wipe mankind whom I created off the face of the earth together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky, for I regret that I made them.
[00:44:19] Let's pause here.
[00:44:21] We often read the Old Testament,
[00:44:24] not from the lenses of Jesus and so therefore we go look at God look see how mean he is question question what would you do if somebody broke into your house tore up everything damage everything that you love that you freely gave them would you go hey police don't come and arrest this person I like having my house destroyed so why is it that you would call the police and want justice but God can't won't can't have justice
[00:44:51] I think the better question is, isn't God patient with us?
[00:44:57] Think about what we do to each other.
[00:45:03] Human trafficking?
[00:45:05] God didn't do that.
[00:45:07] Pollute the earth?
[00:45:08] God didn't do that.
[00:45:10] We steal and cause wars and destroy each other.
[00:45:14] I mean, God is very, very patient.
[00:45:18] I mean that's just globally like we're not even looking in our own hearts of the things that we do.
[00:45:26] But yet God in his mercy and patience does something.
[00:45:32] Watch what he does right here.
[00:45:36] Psychological effects of living in sin.
[00:45:40] These things can actually push us to God as we get to the end of ourselves.
[00:45:44] When we live in sin,
[00:45:46] And sin isn't just, oh, I did a boo-boo.
[00:45:50] Sin is this, sin is cosmic rebellion.
[00:45:52] It is a insurrection.
[00:45:54] It is a God, my way, not your way.
[00:45:56] God, you know what?
[00:45:57] I'm gonna sleep with my girlfriend.
[00:45:58] I don't care.
[00:45:59] Bless me anyway, God.
[00:46:01] You know what, God?
[00:46:01] I'm gonna cheat at work.
[00:46:02] I don't care.
[00:46:03] Lord, you know what?
[00:46:03] I'm gonna watch porn.
[00:46:04] God, you know what?
[00:46:05] I'm gonna be mean and nasty, and you know what?
[00:46:07] and God's like, it doesn't have to be that way, son.
[00:46:09] It doesn't have to be that way, that daughter.
[00:46:11] I've created you for so much more.
[00:46:12] Do you understand?
[00:46:13] I've created you to rule and to reign with me.
[00:46:16] I've created you not for the pig pen but for the palace with me.
[00:46:19] I have created you for good things, not destructive things.
[00:46:22] Stop believing lies because when you do, guilt and shame are gonna flood your life.
[00:46:27] Guilt said I did something wrong.
[00:46:28] Shame says I am something wrong and here's what happens.
[00:46:32] When guilt and shame get a hold of us, it puts us on a cycle of destruction at the root of every addiction
[00:46:37] is guilt and shame.
[00:46:42] A lot of people who've experienced addiction also experience some form of abuse and they're trying to run from the shame.
[00:46:48] Can I say this?
[00:46:50] If you've experienced abuse, it's not your fault.
[00:46:53] You were a kid, you were a child, it was not your fault.
[00:46:57] You don't have to beat yourself up.
[00:47:00] And God knows what you feel like because he felt it on the cross.
[00:47:03] He heard on the cross too.
[00:47:05] You don't have to live in guilt and shame.
[00:47:07] Here's what happens when you and I live in guilt and shame.
[00:47:09] We project that guilt and shame.
[00:47:11] One of the ways that you know you're stuck in guilt and shame is you give people first class tickets for a guilt trip.
[00:47:21] When they do something you don't like, you guilt them to death.
[00:47:24] You guilt your children.
[00:47:25] By the way, that's not gonna make them behave.
[00:47:27] Guilt doesn't make people behave.
[00:47:29] Love and kindness does.
[00:47:34] The best coaches I played for were the ones who say, hey, you're going to make some mistakes, but I believe in you.
[00:47:40] You're my guy.
[00:47:41] I see greatness in you.
[00:47:42] Do we, man?
[00:47:43] Hey, listen, listen, you might be third string.
[00:47:45] You might be a little skinny rump, but man, I can tell you're going to grow.
[00:47:48] You're going to make, you might make it to the NFL.
[00:47:50] I don't know if the coach believed that, but he told me that.
[00:47:53] Well, what God tells you he believes.
[00:47:55] Well, question, what do you believe in?
[00:48:01] Young adults, preteens, and teenagers.
[00:48:04] Back in the day, there was this thing called AM radio and FM radio.
[00:48:09] It's still there.
[00:48:11] So AM didn't sound as good.
[00:48:13] FM was better.
[00:48:15] Well, in the spiritual world, there's AM and FM also.
[00:48:18] AM means voices against me.
[00:48:21] FM means voices for me.
[00:48:23] You need to turn off the AM and turn on the FM and listen to God's voice.
[00:48:31] Frequencies of Grace.
[00:48:33] Next, there's this Restless Despair.
[00:48:36] Our hearts are restless until they rest in you.
[00:48:40] Pastor Augustine said this 1600 years ago in Northern Africa.
[00:48:44] There are people who like to be busy because they think their busyness is somehow gonna fix the crevices and the cracks in their souls, and God is saying, no, no, no, no.
[00:48:57] You need to come to me and rest.
[00:48:59] So look what God does here in Genesis 6-8.
[00:49:03] Noah, however, found favor with the Lord.
[00:49:05] You're like, that's cool, that's cool.
[00:49:07] What does that mean exactly?
[00:49:09] Here's the beauty and the insight of God's word.
[00:49:11] Check this out, check this out, this is fun.
[00:49:12] The name Noah means rest or to be at peace.
[00:49:16] So imagine this, here's Noah.
[00:49:17] He's working with his sons and he's building a big old boat.
[00:49:20] How are you resting and at peace and you building a big old boat?
[00:49:25] because you can have rest and peace not because of what's out there but because of what's in here.
[00:49:33] Did you catch that?
[00:49:34] Some of you are waiting for God to change your circumstances and God is waiting for you to let him change you in the circumstances.
[00:49:43] When you pray, God give me peace, he's gonna allow unpeaceful situations so you can depend upon him.
[00:49:52] One of the biggest issues within Christians is not Bible knowledge, it's faith.
[00:49:57] Faith is the substance of things hoped for but not yet seen.
[00:50:01] Faith is believing what God says is true.
[00:50:06] and it says Noah found favor.
[00:50:07] The word favor means grace.
[00:50:09] So Noah's name means rest to be at peace who found grace.
[00:50:14] Well guess what?
[00:50:15] Jesus is the giver of peace who is full of grace and truth that calls us to come and rest from the flood of sin.
[00:50:22] Let's learn how to read the Bible.
[00:50:24] Look what John 14, 27 says.
[00:50:26] Peace I leave with you.
[00:50:27] Jesus talking to his disciples.
[00:50:28] He says my peace I give you.
[00:50:31] My peace.
[00:50:33] My peace.
[00:50:36] And peace is about harmony with God that the blood of Jesus forgives us and reconciles us to God forever.
[00:50:42] We got peace with God.
[00:50:45] And then peace internally.
[00:50:46] That does not mean that your emotions don't go up and down.
[00:50:50] It just means that your emotions don't make you into a clown.
[00:50:56] It means that you have purpose and you're rooted in the midst of the storm.
[00:51:02] I did not give it to you as the world gives.
[00:51:04] Don't let your heart be troubled or fearful.
[00:51:08] Hey guys, so a couple years ago, Vicki and I went to the Mediterranean and we went to Ephesus, which is modern day Turkey.
[00:51:16] And we got to see all of these temples and we got to see the houses of Roman leaders.
[00:51:23] And you know what?
[00:51:23] Check this out, those temples and those houses, they're all dead and the temples are destroyed.
[00:51:30] And you know what's still here?
[00:51:32] Jesus is church.
[00:51:34] And after America's gone and Russia's gone and everything else is gonna be gone, you know who's still gonna be here?
[00:51:39] Jesus is church.
[00:51:40] Because he said this, the gates of hell will not prevail against my church.
[00:51:44] The church is not a building, the church is you and me.
[00:51:47] The church is people who've been blood blocked.
[00:51:49] So stop being scared.
[00:51:52] If they kill you, you're gonna be with them.
[00:51:54] If they lock you up, you get to preach about them.
[00:51:57] What's the problem?
[00:52:02] Some of you are like, wait, no, I ain't signing up for that.
[00:52:04] No, hey, I'm just, that's all you then.
[00:52:10] You can be anxious if you want to.
[00:52:14] The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
[00:52:16] We observed His glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
[00:52:23] So Jesus gives us peace, Jesus gives us grace.
[00:52:26] What in the world is grace?
[00:52:28] Let me put it to you like this.
[00:52:30] Grace is God coming to our mess and saying, precious child, stop trying to clean yourself up, because there ain't enough soap in the world to do it.
[00:52:43] but my blood can't.
[00:52:45] Grace is God saying, I see you took the exam of life and you got an infinity zero but I scored an infinity 100.
[00:52:54] And because I scored that, you scored it.
[00:52:58] Grace is God saying, I loved you before you were ever born.
[00:53:04] Grace is God saying, I don't love a future version of you, that's better.
[00:53:08] I love the jacked up, toe up from the flow up you.
[00:53:11] And when you let me love you, you will not stay the same.
[00:53:16] Grace is not you climbing a ladder to prove to God, it's God who came down to prove his love to you.
[00:53:24] Grace is God saying, put your sinner resume down and take this cross.
[00:53:30] Grace is what we all need.
[00:53:34] Now I know people, well, Derwin, does that mean I don't have to do anything?
[00:53:38] Hang out with me for a week and you'll see if I don't do anything.
[00:53:43] Grace actually makes you do more.
[00:53:47] Not more stuff, but more of what God has called you to do with more power, with more focus, with more ambition, with more clarity.
[00:53:58] Grace
[00:54:01] is rocket fuel for the soul.
[00:54:02] I wish I could bottle it up and sell it, but it's free.
[00:54:09] Matthew 11, 28.
[00:54:10] Remember the name of Noah?
[00:54:12] He found favor, grace.
[00:54:13] His name is peace or rest.
[00:54:16] Jesus says, come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
[00:54:25] My yoke upon you and learn from me.
[00:54:27] Yoke in the rabbi tradition of the first century of Jesus meant my teaching, the gospel.
[00:54:33] Because I'm lowly and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
[00:54:42] On the count of three, say easy.
[00:54:45] One, two, three, easy.
[00:54:48] Noah means to have rest, to have peace,
[00:54:54] and Grace.
[00:54:55] Jesus is the one who gives us peace, who calls us to his grace, and who gives us rest.
[00:55:04] And we thought it was just about a big old boat.
[00:55:07] It is about a boat, but there's so much more there.
[00:55:11] How was Jesus a better Noah?
[00:55:13] The ark was God's grace in wood form.
[00:55:17] The cross is God's grace in wood form.
[00:55:21] So here's Noah, he's gonna build this ark, he's getting his stuff, and God says to him, make yourself an ark of gopher wood.
[00:55:28] I don't know what it is, but it must be good.
[00:55:31] Make rooms in the ark and cover it with pitch.
[00:55:34] On the count of three, say pitch.
[00:55:35] One, two, three, pitch.
[00:55:37] Inside and out, understand that I'm bringing a flood.
[00:55:40] Flood waters on the earth to destroy every creature under heaven with the breath of it.
[00:55:48] Breath of life in it.
[00:55:51] You know, I just wonder, as Noah's building the ark, he's talking to people.
[00:55:57] Hey, get in.
[00:55:59] Come on.
[00:56:01] I don't see no flood.
[00:56:03] I looked at the weather channel, it's gonna be sunny in 97 for the next 800 years.
[00:56:07] Noah's like, come on, get in, get in, get in.
[00:56:10] Hey, question.
[00:56:11] Do you ask people to get into politics more than you ask people to get into Jesus?
[00:56:18] Is your Facebook page inviting people to Jesus?
[00:56:22] Or are you like working as a political advocate that you don't get paid for?
[00:56:26] Because that really lets you know where your hope is.
[00:56:30] I long for the day that God's people, snotty nose, ugly face cry for their family and friends that don't know Jesus and it will compel you to pray.
[00:56:42] that we would cry in the wilderness saying there's a flood coming and here's an ark that you can be saved.
[00:56:51] I long for the day that we as followers of Jesus would be more excited about people coming to Jesus than our college football teams winning or losing.
[00:57:01] So we were at a restaurant last night actually.
[00:57:05] And a young man, probably early 20s, came in.
[00:57:08] He was with his girlfriend there on a little date.
[00:57:10] And as soon as he walked in, I sensed the Holy Spirit say, invite him to church.
[00:57:14] I'm like, oh man, that's gonna be awkward if this ain't you.
[00:57:18] So we ate, I was praying as we were eating and then Vicki and our guests were ahead of me and I said, hey, give me one of my cards.
[00:57:26] So I have a card of my NFL pictures but on the back is a QR code that you can scan and it'll take you to my website, to sermons and all types of stuff.
[00:57:36] So I use the football stuff to grab people's focus but then they can come and get the word and then eventually come to church.
[00:57:42] So they walk ahead of me and I stop and I say, hey bro,
[00:57:46] It's gonna sound really weird, but I believe God told me to invite you to church.
[00:57:51] And do you attend church?
[00:57:53] And so we began to talk, and as we're talking, his girlfriend goes, or he said, what church is it?
[00:57:59] And I said, Transformation Church.
[00:58:00] And his girlfriend goes, yes, my dad was telling me last night that we need to go to Transformation Church.
[00:58:07] So I bent down and I was like, oh God, thank you, because that could have been really awkward.
[00:58:14] So I pray that they eventually do come to hear the gospel.
[00:58:19] I pray that when God gives you those promptings, you would tell people, come to the ark.
[00:58:27] Say pitch with me on the count of three.
[00:58:29] One, two, three, pitch.
[00:58:30] So here's Noah, here's Noah.
[00:58:32] So he's doing the gopher wood and he's using this pitch to put the wood together.
[00:58:37] What in the world does pitch mean?
[00:58:40] Everything on the earth will perish, but I will establish my covenant with you and you will enter the ark with your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives.
[00:58:46] But what does the word pitch mean?
[00:58:48] The word pitch in Hebrew is Kippur, which is the same word for atonement.
[00:58:53] If you got Jewish friends, every October they celebrate Yom Kippur.
[00:58:57] Do you see it?
[00:58:59] The boat is made of wood and he's putting the wood together using the word for atonement.
[00:59:07] Yes, Noah made a big old boat that saved people, but it was a typology.
[00:59:13] It was a signpost that one day a greater Noah would come.
[00:59:19] and He wouldn't save you on a boat made of wood but a cross made of wood because it's the atonement.
[00:59:27] The atonement, Yom Kippur, one time a year, you can read about it in Leviticus 16, one time a year the holy priest would go into the Holy of the Holies in the temple and there would be the Ark of the Covenant with two mighty angels and the Shekinah glory above and in the Ark of the Covenant, the mercy seat,
[00:59:42] is the Ten Commandments.
[00:59:43] And then he would come in and he would pour the blood of an unblemished lamb over the Ten Commandments showing that the blood covered the people's sins.
[00:59:51] That's called atonement.
[00:59:54] So Jesus on the cross says there's a flood, but my blood is the atonement to save you.
[01:00:05] And it's not just a one-time saving that you get on the ark.
[01:00:09] It's a saving that teaches you how to live life.
[01:00:14] The same blood that saves you from hell is the same blood that sanctifies you to look like heaven on earth.
[01:00:25] Hebrews 2.17
[01:00:28] For this reason he had to become like them, fully human in every way.
[01:00:32] This is the incarnation of Jesus, God the Son, became a human being, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
[01:00:48] Listen, I started this message off saying, if you think you've gone too far,
[01:00:53] It's not greater than God's grace.
[01:00:55] And I'm not talking just to people who've come to Jesus because I'm learning there's a lot of people who have come to Jesus but live like they don't know him because they don't believe his truth.
[01:01:05] They fill their minds with other things.
[01:01:07] The sin of the crime is your mind.
[01:01:09] Fill your mind with the beauty of God, the forgiveness of God, the mercy of God.
[01:01:13] If you want to know what your pastor does to grow, here it is.
[01:01:16] Yes, I read the Bible.
[01:01:17] Yes, I pray.
[01:01:18] But primarily what I'm doing is I am constantly, constantly, over and over, turning up the volume for FM.
[01:01:25] I am forgiven.
[01:01:27] I am loved.
[01:01:28] And you need it most in the middle of life.
[01:01:32] I'm all good for a quiet time, but I need Him all the time.
[01:01:35] The quiet time is easy.
[01:01:37] Ain't nobody there to mess with you.
[01:01:39] You need him at work.
[01:01:41] You need him at school.
[01:01:42] You need him in conflict.
[01:01:43] You need him on a date.
[01:01:44] You need him all the time and everywhere.
[01:01:55] And Noah.
[01:01:57] Jesus, the better Noah, brings us into a new creation.
[01:01:59] Noah and his family and all the animals.
[01:02:01] Ooh, I bet that thing stunk.
[01:02:04] They get to new land, they get to new creation.
[01:02:07] By the way, isn't it ironic that Noah could live by such faith in God to build an ark, but get defeated by a little bottle of wine?
[01:02:19] He got drunk and shamed himself.
[01:02:21] Drinking isn't a sin unless you're underage, but he was abusing it.
[01:02:25] Isn't it crazy?
[01:02:26] You could do something so epic, and then the next thing you land around naked, drunk.
[01:02:33] Hey guys, don't forfeit your birthright for something so cheap when God paid so much for you.
[01:02:43] Jesus takes us on the ark called the empty tomb to new creation.
[01:02:50] So understand this, we're not gonna be lifeless spirits floating around like ghosts.
[01:02:56] That's Hollywood, that's not Bible.
[01:02:58] We're gonna have resurrected glorified bodies here on earth.
[01:03:03] and this is just a glimpse of it.
[01:03:07] Here's the new creation, Revelation 21, one through five.
[01:03:10] Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth.
[01:03:12] For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and the sea was no more.
[01:03:17] Now you know why that's there.
[01:03:19] because what happened in Jewish history?
[01:03:21] A great flood and God is saying that's not gonna happen anymore.
[01:03:24] I also saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
[01:03:31] Then I heard a loud voice from the throne.
[01:03:33] Look, God's dwelling is with humanity and he will live with them.
[01:03:38] They will be his people and God himself
[01:03:41] will be with them and will be their God respectfully.
[01:03:45] I know some people say, and I get it, hey, I can't wait to see my mom or my grandmother.
[01:03:50] I can't wait to see my grandmother either.
[01:03:52] But the highlight of New Heavens and New Earth ain't gonna be your mama or mama or my mama.
[01:03:56] It's gonna be King Jesus.
[01:03:58] Yes, you're gonna see your relatives and loved ones after you get off of your face for about 10,000 years of taking in King Jesus.
[01:04:07] The goal of eternity is to be with him, and that's what allows us to appreciate
[01:04:11] Those others who've gone before us.
[01:04:16] He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
[01:04:19] Oh man, I can't wait for that day.
[01:04:21] Some days I'll be like, Jesus, come back!
[01:04:23] But not too fast, more people need to get saved.
[01:04:26] Friends, death will be no more.
[01:04:29] Grief, crying, and pain will be no more.
[01:04:35] There are some days, man, I wish I could save you from this, but I can't.
[01:04:41] Nor would you want me to, because it's often in these moments that we see God at his greatest.
[01:04:48] And there's some days where all you can do is cry and weep.
[01:04:51] No wonder Jesus says, Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
[01:04:54] But we don't mourn without people, without hope.
[01:04:58] The future of what we have is like a magnet that pulls us through the adversity, that pulls us through the storms, that pulls us when we don't want to go anymore, because we know where we're going.
[01:05:09] Death will be no more, grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.
[01:05:14] Then the one seated on the throne, that be Jesus, by the way, the one seated on the throne said, look, I am making everything new.
[01:05:27] You see, Jesus is a better Noah.
[01:05:32] Noah made a boat out of wood.
[01:05:34] Jesus died on a cross made of wood to give us life.
[01:05:39] Would you come into the ark?
[01:05:45] Let's pray, family.
[01:05:48] Holy Spirit, would you take the words that have been preached, and would you bless us to be a people that live life from the greater Noah, the one who gives us peace, grace, and rest.
[01:06:08] The flood of His blood has saved us from sin and death.
[01:06:15] May we live in that power.
[01:06:18] And right now I want to pray for people saying, hey preacher,
[01:06:23] What you just broke down, I never understood, and I'm ready to follow Jesus.
[01:06:26] I'm ready to give my life to Jesus.
[01:06:27] See, listen, if you're ready to give your life to Jesus and to truly follow Him, I'm talking about just church attendance.
[01:06:32] I'm talking about growing, knowing Him, having your sins forgiven.
[01:06:37] I'm talking about you knowing the better Noah.
[01:06:40] Hey, if that's you here, right now, He wants you to pray this to Him.
[01:06:45] He's here.
[01:06:46] Commit your life to Him right now.
[01:06:48] Say this to him, King Jesus, I believe that on that bloody cross that a flood of your blood came in and forgave me of my sin.
[01:06:55] I believe that on the third day you rose again so that I can live in the ark of your resurrection.
[01:07:00] You're gonna take me to a new creation one day, but until that day I will follow you every day through the power of the Holy Spirit.
[01:07:07] And God's people said amen.
[01:07:10] Let's give God a round of applause, fam.
[01:07:14] Yeah.
[01:07:15] All right, check this out.
[01:07:16] So there are connection cards in a seat in front of you.
[01:07:20] If you're a teenager, a preteen, or somebody who prayed that prayer with me, would you fill that connection card out?
[01:07:26] Nothing weird is gonna happen.
[01:07:28] Let us know you prayed to receive Christ or renewed your faith in Christ.
[01:07:31] Let us know if you wanna be baptized.
[01:07:33] And our teams are gonna connect with you.
[01:07:36] We believe your life matters.
[01:07:39] If somebody would have told me August 2nd, 1997, when I prayed that prayer to receive Christ, my life would be this way, I would say that that's impossible.
[01:07:48] But we serve a God of Him possible.
[01:07:51] So please, please, please let us know.
[01:07:54] Alright?
[01:07:55] So here's our soul tattoo.
[01:07:57] The big idea.
[01:07:58] Live from the life of Jesus to better Noah.
[01:08:01] Listen to this sermon all throughout the week.
[01:08:03] When you work out, when you drive to work, when you go to school, when you just marinate, let it soak into your soul.
[01:08:09] And then share it with somebody.
[01:08:11] Here's our action step.
[01:08:12] Stop in the lobby or go to RollOutHope.com to provide gifts for families this Christmas.
[01:08:20] Listen, we are a generous people here at Transformation Church because our God is generous.
[01:08:26] I love you guys.
[01:08:28] Welcome our campus hosts.

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_03]:
Thank you so much, Pastor Derwin.
[01:08:39] Well, Transformation Church, would you stand with me as we get ready to do our benediction, which really just means a good word or a blessing, but it's the way that we remind ourselves of who we are and who God has called us to be.
[01:08:52] And so we say upward because we love God completely.
[01:08:56] We say inward because in Him we can learn to love ourselves correctly.
[01:09:00] And we say outward because we love our neighbors compassionately.
[01:09:03] I point at you, you point back at me, and we say Transformers, roll out.
[01:09:07] Because this is just the... And now it's time to go play the... All right, let's do it.

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]:
One, two, three.
[01:09:15] Upward, inward, outward.
[01:09:18] Transformers, roll out.
[01:09:20] Have a great week.
