[00:06:47] and so Bishop Wall said it like this we suffer in the church because we don't put the emphasis on the spiritual that brings about the natural help me somebody God is spiritual amen somebody and because he's spiritual he created what we see that which we do not see created that which we see amen somebody
[00:07:10] So you want God to fix stuff in your natural life, you got to get it right in the spiritual life.

People have a hard time forgiving sins.

[00:23:07] It's a broken human nature.
[00:23:08] A lot of things you say, it came with a broken nature.
[00:23:14] So that means I've got to work to get rid of it.
[00:23:19] The stuff that we find in the challenges we have in life, we were born that way.
[00:23:25] I didn't say we became that way.
[00:23:27] We were born certain ways.

[00:23:30] So let me work on it to come out of that.
[00:23:33] Well, this is what the church is for.
[00:23:35] And that's how it would be a balance about who God is and what God is calling us to do.
[00:23:42] Because see, what's in your lopsided gospel nowadays, what God is going to do.
[00:23:46] And I tell you, yeah, God can do it.
[00:23:50] But I have to do my part.
[00:23:53] See, it's a covenant.
[00:23:54] A covenant means God is responsible for certain things.

[00:24:01] So I cannot realize the promises of the covenant if I don't do my part.
[00:24:10] See, that's what a church fails right there.

[00:24:21] And if I don't do my part, it won't happen.

There are many things that music does for us, but one of them that we don't talk about much nowadays is broken spirits.
[00:35:39] Saul came, Saul was a broken spirit, and David played music with him.
[00:35:49] A lot of things we try to kick out of the church, but it used to be
[00:35:57] Come and sit quietly.
[00:36:01] And the music will be playing before we even start in worship.
[00:36:07] Come with somebody.
[00:36:09] And let the music get a heartbeat all week long.
[00:36:14] And you come in this sanctuary, come in this quietness, except for the soft music is playing.
[00:36:25] Saul understood that in this day.
[00:36:28] I got a whole series on what I have to deal with the sanctuary, how it is set up, and why it's set up in a certain way.

[00:36:45] We don't just do what we do.
[00:36:49] The communion table, where it is, represents
[00:36:53] The Ark of the Covenant.
[00:36:55] Really, that's what it's for.
[00:37:01] That's why it's placed.

[00:37:05] I'm not knocking anybody's theology out there.
[00:37:08] But it does belong in the back.
[00:37:11] Because that's where the Ark of the Covenant.
[00:37:12] See, in the Old Testament, where the people, you all were sitting, that was called
[00:37:24] There was a veil that went up and separated the holy place from the most holy place.
[00:37:38] Only the priest could go back to the high priest who was on duty that year could go behind the holy of holies
[00:37:53] We, no one was allowed back there on a normal basis.
[00:37:59] Because Christ had not come to atone for our sins.
[00:38:05] Atone somebody.
[00:38:06] I know what I'm talking about.
[00:38:07] Just be careful what I'm teaching you.
[00:38:10] And so the high priest would go back once a year to atone for the sins of his people.
[00:38:17] He wore what we call a caper toe around his waist and had bells on
[00:38:23] That normally the folks heard it because he went but first he had to atone for his own sin.
[00:38:27] That's why we commute first.
[00:38:29] It's not out of privilege.
[00:38:31] It's out of responsibility.

[00:38:36] So he had to atone for his own sin first because if he went behind there with unconfessed sin and unforgiven sin, he died.

[00:38:52] Well, Christ got rid of all of that, and that's why I said that when he was crucified, the wall on the grave was torn down.
[00:39:08] Now we all have assets.

[00:39:14] That's why we thank God for Jesus.

[00:39:53] It's not about speaking in tongues and all that stuff.
[00:39:56] We missed a point.
[00:39:59] It's about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
[00:40:03] Every believer.
[00:40:05] When you're born again, the Holy Spirit comes to take a residence.
[00:40:10] He's moving in.

[00:42:08] It's Satan wanting us to not understand what God is saying.

[00:42:15] But he uses scripture and he uses things or sayings in the church that because it sounds right, most people, just being honest now, I'm not knocking anybody, do not research for themselves
[00:42:39] You can put it on Jesus at least he tried.
[00:42:42] That's what those temptations were about.
[00:42:44] And remember that he used scripture.
[00:42:46] He just misquoted the scriptures.

[00:42:50] So Satan does the same thing today now.
[00:42:52] And then remember too, the Bible said he comes in the house of God or the temple to set himself up as God or as a messenger of God.
[00:43:03] And he masquerades as an angel of light.

[00:43:12] And that's why it's deception because he deceived, you know, he wanted us to think what's right is wrong and what's wrong is right.
[00:43:22] And so the church has always, you know, the P's and Q's in order to get what God wants.
[00:43:29] Now, let's just deal first of all with a few people in the natural realm that we know that made a high impact life.
[00:43:36] All of us are called, it's a high calling, I don't say that, but we're called, the thing is living a high impact life.
[00:43:43] Everybody in here is called to live a high impact life.
[00:43:46] Now that doesn't mean our name will be a prank.
[00:43:50] That does not mean they're living a high impact life.
[00:43:53] Your life can impact others as much as anybody else's life can.

[00:44:31] So don't get caught up into that.
[00:44:34] Don't think pastors more than you or you more than the pastor or somebody that's hold position in the church are more important than you.
[00:44:42] You've got to understand that God has created you and God made you to make an impact in the world and you can do it by carrying out your assignment.
[00:44:55] That's all he requires of us.
[00:44:59] What's your assignment?
[00:45:01] And so one thing we talked about already is you gotta forget the past.
[00:45:09] That could mean we have no recollection of the past, but not that the past become a hindrance to us.

And I kind of listed some things here that, so our failures can be a hindrance, our past failures can be a hindrance.

[00:45:34] One of the greatest things that causes a business or any institution or person to fail is living off past successes.
[00:46:00] I understand and thank God for the past, but I got to move on to the future.
[00:46:07] So you can name business after business that succeeded and had a great business at one point, but then all of a sudden they faded off the scene.
[00:46:18] Younger people, you better not remember, but a lot of us grew up when Kodak had the camera market.
[00:46:25] Y'all remember that?
[00:46:26] A Kodak moment, and they're all about Kodak.
[00:46:29] Now, where is Kodak now?
[00:46:34] Where is it?
[00:46:38] Sometimes I look online and there's a number of restaurants or fast food chains that they expect to fail or go into bankruptcy this year.
[00:46:48] They were once at the top of their game.
[00:46:52] Blockbuster, where is it?
[00:47:01] You won't find one.
[00:47:03] But once upon a time, they were everywhere.
[00:47:07] Am I right, somebody?
[00:47:10] And you can name business after business.
[00:47:13] And their failures all have the same thing in common.
[00:47:18] Churches have the same thing in common.
[00:47:21] People have the same thing in common as to why they go down versus moving
[00:47:29] And then we talked about the forgiveness of our own sins too.
[00:47:32] I don't ask, I just do stuff and never ask God to forgive me.

[00:47:36] And then the willingness to forgive others.
[00:47:39] Now, let's go to today.
[00:47:42] So we must know what the first one, let me go back.
[00:47:47] So I'm gonna name a few people first and then the second round that made a higher impact.

[00:49:36] When my brother told me his granddaughter told her father, she took her phone but something she had done and she said, Daddy, can you just whip me and give me my phone back?

[00:50:16] But my point is that these are individuals in the natural realm that did something to change the world.
[00:50:30] Usually when God calls us to do something, we are people that are not known by the world.
[00:50:36] Well, could it be you?
[00:50:42] David, God told Jesse,
[00:50:47] Not Jesse.
[00:50:47] Samuel the prophet go down to Jesse's house and anoint one of his sons as king of Israel.
[00:50:55] They didn't mean no harm or no negative.
[00:50:57] They didn't even invite David to the ceremony because they assumed David wasn't the one.
[00:51:06] He and Jesse invited all his other sons.
[00:51:10] David was out doing the sheep and even Samuel won't make the mistake.
[00:51:17] Because when all them want to walk with all muscular and physique like I am, or six pack like I am,
[00:51:25] That Samuel said, watch this, surely this is the Lord's anointing.
[00:51:33] For God said, no Samuel, not him, for you are looking on the outside, but God looks at the heart.
[00:51:41] And so the all of them passed by Samuel, and not him, not him, not him.
[00:51:46] So Samuel, wait a minute now, do you have any more son?
[00:51:51] Yeah, David.
[00:51:53] He's out tending sheep, go fetch him.
[00:51:58] And so we've got David, and the Lord said he's the one.
[00:52:04] See God chooses the most, most of the time it's the unlikely people.
[00:52:10] I'm telling you what I know now, you better read the scripture.
[00:52:14] See we got our man, our eyes on what we call big time folks.
[00:52:20] God usually chooses folks that nobody knows about, but God has been working on them all the time to prepare them for their assignment.
[00:52:33] And I say to you, God has been working on you all your life.
[00:52:38] You are no accident.
[00:52:40] You are no accident.
[00:52:41] And while you are where you are, God had you in mind before your mom and daddy ever met each other.
[00:52:51] Nobody has for you.
[00:52:54] My job is to embrace.
[00:52:59] We just embrace and accept the calling of God on our lives.
[00:53:03] Stop looking at where you came from.
[00:53:05] Stop looking at the color of your skin.
[00:53:06] Stop looking at your education level.
[00:53:08] Stop looking at how much money you got.
[00:53:12] Stop looking at that mess.
[00:53:18] Because too many people never realize their purpose
[00:53:22] We're using stuff that may not, you know, when life may not have gone so well in the past.
[00:53:28] And this is what Paul is saying in his text.
[00:53:30] Paul persecuted the church.
[00:53:35] When Paul was not old enough to throw stones at Stephen, the first martyr inscribed in the New Testament, when Paul was too young to throw a stone, Paul held the clothes of those who did.
[00:53:52] So the way he participated in the murdering of Stephen.
[00:54:01] Moses had murdered the man.

[00:55:01] God wants you to know that you messed up, but I can still use you.

[00:58:38] Long ago, Saul had already tried to kill David many times before, but David had many chances to wipe Saul out, but David refused to do it.
[00:58:49] And there were others here that had mercy on him.
[00:58:53] They say sometimes God beat the stew out of some folks because they don't have mercy on others.

[01:08:02] You probably already heard it, the story of little baby Eaglet.
[01:08:08] that got left behind with chickens.
[01:08:11] And because the eagle didn't know, little baby eaglet didn't know what it was to be an eagle, he grew up with chickens.
[01:08:21] They scratched on the ground trying to find food, cracked like a chicken.
[01:08:26] Everything chicken did, the little baby eaglet did.
[01:08:29] But one day there was an older eagle flying above and looked down and spotted the little baby eaglet walking around with chickens.
[01:08:39] And he came down and asked the little baby eagle, what are you doing down here with chickens?
[01:08:44] And I don't know, that's just where I was born.
[01:08:47] That's how I was born.
[01:08:49] He said, but you're an eagle.
[01:08:51] And when you're born,
[01:08:56] And he started saying, stand back from the rest of them.
[01:08:59] Now start moving your wings.
[01:09:01] And he started flapping his wings.
[01:09:03] All of a sudden he started rising off the ground.
[01:09:06] And then the old eagle said, come on, follow me.
[01:09:08] And he showed them how to fly and how to soar.
[01:09:11] What's the moral of the story is that sometimes churches are scratching like chickens not knowing they were born to be
[01:09:26] We are scrapped and act like chickens, not crapped like a chicken, not knowing that God made us to be eagles.
[01:09:38] We are not made for the ground.
[01:09:40] You are made to soar to majestic heights of holiness and righteousness.
[01:09:45] You are made to do good to everybody.
[01:09:48] God made us for higher heights.
[01:09:56] Everything in my life I scribe for excellence.
[01:09:59] It may not be deep, but I will always give you my best.
[01:10:08] Honestly, sometimes I get confused with being in competition with other folks and competing with nobody.
[01:10:19] I know what God called me to do.

[01:10:25] Paul is saying in this text here, I'm taking hold of perfection for which Christ took hold of me.
[01:10:31] See, Christ took hold of us, not to leave us here, but to take us on to perfection.
[01:10:37] Not necessarily perfect, but spiritual maturity, because we won't reach perfection in this life.

[01:10:48] It's a high calling.
