The Gospel of Gain: A Theological Review of ‘The Drought Is Over’

We're going to deal with the root problem of the things in your life. [00:01:01] like what what is what is causing that lack you see the problem is not the famine it's the drought there's no water and so you can be putting seed in you can be doing all this stuff you can be
[00:01:12] plowing that ground you can be laboring you can get three jobs and it's still not enough because you're dealing with the symptoms and not the root now how do I get to the root of that we're going
[00:01:24] to understand how to live in Revelation ministry. What is prophetic ministry? What is it to prophesy?

[00:07:24] And I want to teach you today and really get into the word of how do you discern, how do you know what is a prophetic word?
[00:07:31] What is prophecy?
[00:07:33] Is it for now?
[00:07:35] God has answers for you to live in a place of what I call rhema, the revelation of God's word speaking in your life.
[00:07:40] I want you to open up your Bible, and we're going to go to 1 Kings chapter 18.
[00:07:45] You know this so well.
[00:07:46] It's about the story of the prophet Elijah.
[00:07:48] But I want to set the backdrop for you.
[00:07:50] There was a severe, severe famine.
[00:07:53] The famine was so severe that they were going to resort to eating their own child, cannibalism.
[00:07:59] Think about how horrific that is.
[00:08:02] And then this man comes on the scene, this prophet by the name of Elijah.
[00:08:07] Why?
[00:08:07] Because if you don't deal with the drought, you can never resolve the famine.
[00:08:12] And often we're dealing with the symptoms and not getting to the root of the problem.
[00:08:16] But living a life that is in the prophetic, and I'll explain that in this program, you deal with the root, you deal with the spiritual aspect.
[00:08:26] So let's see how God uses this.
[00:08:28] Now get out your journals, get out your notebooks, because I really want to teach you the word of the Lord today.
[00:08:34] 1 Kings 18, verse 1 and 2.
[00:08:36] It came to pass after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show thyself unto Ahab, and I will send rain upon the earth.
[00:08:45] And Elijah went to show himself unto Ahab, and there was a sore famine in Samaria.
[00:08:51] Now let's go to verse 30 through 32.
[00:08:53] And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me.
[00:08:57] And all the people came near unto him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.
[00:09:02] And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the son of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name.
[00:09:13] And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord, and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
[00:09:22] Now let's go to 1 Kings chapter 18, verse 40 through 46.
[00:09:26] You can read all of this in your time, but I want you to really get the essence of what God's saying.
[00:09:33] And Elijah said unto him, Take the prophets of Baal, let not one of them escape.
[00:09:38] And they took them, and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.
[00:09:43] And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
[00:09:49] So Ahab went up to eat, to drink, and Elijah went to the top of Carmel.
[00:09:54] he cast himself down upon the earth and put his face between his knees he gets in this position it's actually a birthing position and he said to his servant go now look toward the sea and he went
[00:10:06] up and looked and said there's nothing he said go again seven times and it came to pass at the seventh time that he said behold there arises a little cloud out of the sea like a man's hand
[00:10:16] And he said, go up, say to Ahab, prepare the chariot and get down that the rain does not stop you. Verse 45, it came to pass in the meanwhile that the heaven was black and the clouds and the
[00:10:30] wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode and went to Jezebel and the hand of the Lord was on Elijah. And he ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. Now I want you to get this why I'm
[00:10:43] showing you a picture and we'll explain that picture because god moments have already been established change has already occurred now it's time to manifest that change we've talked a lot about transition and change and going from one place to another and shift and i've preached for
[00:11:01] years on this but i want you to understand god's purposes cannot miscarry they they are not gonna be aborted in the earth the only way for that to happen that devil can't do it the economy can't
[00:11:17] do it a government can't do it the only way for that to happen is for you to do it you're the only one that can forfeit the purpose the supreme reason for being in the earth the intention of god
[00:11:29] for your life which carries a bigger plan to impact the kingdom of god therefore you must align yourself with the timing of god i want you to have the ability to hear just like elijah did
[00:11:42] when he was working with the wicked king and a wicked woman how did he hear from god and shift because he said it's not going to rain until i say so and they were in a severe famine now how
[00:11:55] does that apply to you and how do you release what god is doing in the earth well let's show you in Acts chapter 17 verse 24 through 28. The God who made the world and everything in it is
[00:12:07] the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. He's not served by human hands and if needed anything because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth
[00:12:24] and he determined the times set for them and he determined your time and the exact place where they should live god did this so that men should seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find
[00:12:39] him though he is not far from each one of us for in him we live and we move and we have our being as some of your own poets have said we are his offspring so the scripture says when you are in
[00:12:52] the right place at the right time god gives us the ability to see down the pipeline so we can see into our future it's what i call prophetic or revelatory ministry prophecy in the new testament
[00:13:06] means to tell forth or to foretell revelation 19 10 for the testimony of jesus is the spirit of prophecy you see john complements the work of jesus by assigning the characteristic of his ministry as being done and affirmed by the spirit of prophecy. Now, if we are to follow Jesus,
[00:13:28] then our ministry should affirm the spirit of prophecy, right? Jesus said, I only do what my father does. He only operates out of what was foretold. So he came to give us sight. Luke chapter four, verse 18 and 19. The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to
[00:13:49] preach the gospel to the poor. He sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, and to preach
[00:14:00] the acceptable year of the Lord. May your eyes be open in the name of Jesus. May you see by the Spirit of God. We must strategically position ourselves, release from revelation, prophetic ministry in order to receive and maximize what God has attended. He's anointed you to preach the
[00:14:20] gospel. But I'm a doctor, but I'm a business person, but I'm a barber, but I'm a housewife.
[00:14:25] He's anointed you to preach the gospel. That doesn't mean you pastor a church. That doesn't mean you have to have a pulpit. God has given you a pulpit right where you are. And today you're
[00:14:37] going to understand that so that you can receive the prophetic ministry that God has for you.
[00:14:42] You see, the ability to receive and to move in a God moment is the ability to hear.
[00:14:48] The issue is not to get the tongue to speak, but to get the ear to hear.
[00:14:52] The tongue can only move and speak if the ear hears.
[00:14:57] That's why Jesus declared over and over and over again, Matthew 11, verse 15, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
[00:15:05] Matthew 13, 9, Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
[00:15:09] Have you ever noticed that there can be a hundred people in a service, a thousand people, and they don't all hear the same thing?
[00:15:17] If you are spiritual and one with God, led by the Spirit of God, you can hear something on the inside that you cannot see on the outside.
[00:15:27] You have a vision.
[00:15:29] It's a force within you that is powerful enough to mold a future that you have not yet stepped into.
[00:15:38] you see you cannot move in a god moment if you cannot discern one now what does discernment mean discern means to perceive or to recognize to distinguish with difficulty by sight and i talk about it by this site your spirit eye your spirit's right here by sight or with other senses
[00:16:00] to detect. Can I detect when God is moving? Now, this is not always easy. In fact, I think that most people in the body of Christ miss it because they can't detect it. And I want to get you to the
[00:16:13] prophetic promise. This might be two programs, but I can't get you over there with releasing you out of your famine, getting to the root of the drought. Because what's the root in your life? Is it poverty?
[00:16:26] Is it a generational curse? Is it premature death in your family? Is it accidents? Is it things that are contrary to God's word and what he says about you? So if you can't deal just with the famine,
[00:16:39] oh, I'll work three jobs. You're still going to be poor. I don't say that, Paula. You've got to get to the root. The problem is not the famine. The famine is the result of the drought. So without
[00:16:50] the drought you're never getting to the root and in the prophet says whether it rains or not is shut up in my mouth in other words whether there is a release of rain or withholding of rain is in
[00:17:03] the prophetic now it's not always easy to move in a god moment because his methods look like madness He goes from chaos to cosmos, from destruction to construction. And when God is getting ready to shift you into a new season, He always raises up a prophetic voice. So I want you to understand
[00:17:30] five things concerning the prophetic. Five things. I want you to write these down. And if this is as far as I get, it is so vital that you understand how to move with the Spirit of God because God
[00:17:42] uses people so to move you into what god has that spirit of prophecy is going to be necessary so what does prophecy do and what is it number one it has the ability to activate
[00:18:01] to activate means to set up or to formally institute with the necessary equipment it is something that causes action not contemplation or speculation so remember that Ezekiel and Ezekiel chapter 37 is used to activate the army of God he's just
[00:18:18] looking at this valley and the bible says that they're mere bones they were fragmented they were separated they were despondent but in verse 11 then he said unto me son of man these bones are
[00:18:31] the whole house of Israel behold they say our bones are dried and our hope is lost we are cut off for our parts and you can read it in verse 4 through 10. he says again he said unto me prophesy
[00:18:44] into these bones and say to them oh you dry bones hear the word of the lord thus the lord god said unto these bones behold i will cause breath to enter into you and you shall live and i will lay
[00:18:54] sinews upon you and you will bring up flesh upon you and cover you with skin and put breath in you and you shall know that i am the lord so i prophesied as i was commanded and i and as i was
[00:19:06] prophesying there was a noise and behold a shaking and the bones came together bone to his bone and i beheld lo the sinews the flesh came upon them the skin covered them and there was no breath into
[00:19:18] them then he said to me again prophesying to the wind prophesy son of man and say to the wind thus saith the lord god come from the four winds o breath breathe upon these slain that they may
[00:19:29] live so i prophesied as i was commanded are you getting it and it says they came to their feet and they became a great army you see what it did was activate an army to fulfill the plan
[00:19:41] and the purpose of god that's what prophecy does it brings activation it's not just contemplation oh i think because a lot of people talk about things but very few people do things prophecy activates the kingdom remember the transition from saul to david it came through the prophetic word
[00:20:00] hebrews chapter 11 verse 3 the worlds were framed by the word of god genesis chapter 1 the word activated order out of chaos genesis chapter 3 the word of god activated enmity in the earth
[00:20:15] long before we ever saw the heel of jesus crushed the head of satan in second kings chapter 4 prophecy activated life to the shunammite woman's son remember she built this chamber she put this bed in there she put a table she put a candlestick she put a stool she put all these things in there
[00:20:39] and she put a demand on her giving that's important and then she brings forth the sun she's like oh don't play with me don't play with me because she can't have children she brings forth the sun and her son dies and what does she do she goes back and she puts it on the
[00:20:57] prophetic promise and on the prophet himself and it brings life to her it activates the prophetic activates life number two a prophet produces anticipation so prophecy activates prophecy brings anticipation now that's important because the bible talks about um hope a lot
[00:21:24] so you know that without faith it's impossible to please god hebrews chapter 11 verse 6. it also says that a heart without hope gets sick now when you boil down hope it really boils down to the
[00:21:40] word anticipation like i expect this to happen so hope becomes the inseparable cousin to faith so the word of god produces faith you can't get that on your own it's god's word but the prophetic produces anticipation then prophets give a different perspective they
[00:22:04] see things different second chronicles chapter 20 verse 15. when i say prophets i'm also using that as the prophetic ministry the prophetic word of the lord second chronicles 20 15 thus saith the lord unto you be not afraid nor dismayed by reason dismayed means don't have a nervous
[00:22:20] breakdown of this great multitude for the battle is not yours but it's god's now it was twofold there was a word of encouragement don't be afraid and and the the hebrew etymology the root of that
[00:22:35] word means do not give your enemy reverence or respect now they were facing a mighty army that in the natural could destroy him and like i said do not be dismayed means don't have a breakdown
[00:22:45] or allow confusion and fear to break you down so they were given do not be afraid and they were given this and do not be dismayed and then a word of instruction you shall not need to fight this
[00:22:58] battle set yourself stand still and see the salvation of the lord oh judah and jerusalem fear not don't be dismayed tomorrow go out against them for the lord will be with you you see when he
[00:23:10] says that he said be patient tomorrow wait a day move in god's timing wisdom has a way of waiting set yourself be in place remember we said it's god's moment for your life when you're aligned
[00:23:26] in his timing and in his place stand still which means stand by stand firm stand fast stand up the prophet gives you god's perspective because they would have gone out well they would have retreated because they were afraid they would have been like we can't handle this and god says stand
[00:23:45] still don't be broken down don't be confused don't allow fear to get in here and then you know what happens god sends the sound into the enemy's camp it brings all kinds of confusion and the three
[00:23:58] enemies turn on each other and it leaves israel to go over into the camp and to get all the good that's about as much as we're going to get to today maybe i'll be able to come back and give
[00:24:09] you just the one two on these and teach the rest because the prophetic is so important for you and maybe if you don't fully understand it and you're like i don't get it let me pray for you
[00:24:22] right now because it takes a heart that is teachable and ears that are open that's the most important two steps you don't have to have all the the head knowledge when I was beginning in understanding what I call a more mature
[00:24:39] place in God or the the more his word became clear to me there were a lot of things that were silly to me a lot of things that I intellectually fought against a lot of things that i was like how can that be and god didn't look at me and go oh you
[00:24:56] have doubt how dare you it's a process so if you're hungry for more god and if you don't want to miss a moment and if you're in a situation where you've got a famine a famine in your
[00:25:08] relationship a famine in your life a famine in your business a famine in your body could it be that the solution is not by you dealing with the famine you're trying to plant in an environment
[00:25:23] that is impossible to grow in it's dealing with the drought that's the root of the problem and how do you deal with the drought through prophetic revelation the testimony of jesus is the spirit of prophecy now the next i'm going to teach you more about that so you really
[00:25:41] understand. So Father God, I pray right now that there would be a heart that is open to receive, that all confusion, anything that has been put in a mind or heart that is contrary to your word
[00:25:55] would be removed right now. That we would be open to the Holy Spirit, to your servants, to your prophets, to the prophetic, to the revelation of Jesus. That the word of God is not some book of old days and past. It's not where we can pick and choose, but it is the same today,
[00:26:16] yesterday, and forevermore. Heaven and earth will pass away, but your word will remain forever.
[00:26:23] I want you right now to be able to hear. Let everything that has blocked your ears, that has caused you to be deaf spiritually, be broken off of you right now in the name of Jesus.
[00:26:36] I declare an open ear and an open eye for you that your life is about to transform and that you will see God and who he is in the revelation of Jesus Christ through what the Bible calls the spirit of
[00:26:50] prophecy. That's the testimony of Jesus that you will understand how to shift, how not just to foretell, but to tell forth. How to move things into God's timing and God's place and God's plan in Jesus' name. I'm going to ask you again, is there a famine in your life? Because there have
[00:27:15] been times I've had famine in my life. And one of the key things that I found out that was so important for me is that I connect myself with the ministry, a man or woman of God in the earth
[00:27:27] who is assigned by God. And I'll tell you who taught me this with partnership, assigned by God in this earth that would bring release, deliverance, and what they were anointed to do into my life. Marilyn Hickey taught me this. You go, how? She was at our church one
