❓ What do these grades mean?
We do not issue this rating to attack the speaker, but to protect the listener. This church's overall teaching trend consistently deviates from sound doctrine. As per Romans 16:17, we identify these patterns so believers can guard their hearts.
🧐 Overview
Sermon Summary: This sermon uses the Old Testament story of rebuilding the temple to argue that if you give money to the church's building projects, God is obligated to bless your personal life and finances. It presents giving not as a response to God's grace, but as a strategy to secure His favor and provision.
Big Idea: The real premise of this whole text that I want to encourage you with is the truth that you see and the principle that you see in this passage of, when I build God's house, he'll bless mine. [00:10:29 ▶️ 📄]
Pastoral Analysis: The sermon's central proposition is a transactional formula: prioritizing the church's financial needs guarantees personal material blessing from God. This constitutes a form of the Prosperity Gospel, rooted in a legalistic application of Old Covenant tithing laws (Malachi 3) and a pretextual use of Haggai 1. The message functionally denies grace by making blessing contingent on financial works. This is compounded by a claim of direct, conversational revelation ('The Lord said...') which undermines Scriptural sufficiency.
Biblical Parallel(Archetype): Thyatira — The sermon promotes a seductive teaching ('Jezebel') that replaces the gospel of grace with a transactional principle of giving to receive material blessing.
🧭 Biblical Alignment Dashboard
Overall Verdict: Fundamentally in Error
| Category | Status | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Soteriology | ❌ FAIL | The sermon establishes a works-based system for obtaining God's blessing, functionally replacing grace with a transactional formula ('when I build God's house, he'll bless mine'). This is a form of legalism. |
| Bibliology | ❌ FAIL | The speaker claims direct, conversational revelation ('the Lord said, don't inspire them, instruct them'), which bypasses and thus undermines the sole authority and sufficiency of Scripture. |
| Hermeneutic | ❌ FAIL | The sermon engages in eisegesis, using Haggai 1 as a pretext for a modern fundraising campaign. It ignores the text's fulfillment in Christ as the true temple and misapplies a specific Old Covenant command to the New Covenant church. |
| Theology Proper | ❌ FAIL | God is presented as a reactive deity whose blessings are contingent upon and can be secured by human financial performance. This depiction is contrary to the biblical revelation of a sovereign God who blesses according to His gracious will. |
| Sacramentology | ⚪ N/A | Neither Communion nor Baptism was observed in the provided transcript. |
📖 How they Handle Scripture & Jesus
Primary Text: Haggai 1:1-8 (Pretextual (Thin))
Scripture Saturation: Verses Read: 8 | Referenced: 6 | Alluded: 4
Passages Read Aloud:
Key References: Ezra 4, Hebrews, Malachi 3, Luke, Mark, Romans
Christological Connection: None (Moralistic): The sermon uses Haggai 1 to establish a transactional principle ('when I build God's house, he'll bless mine'). The brief mention of Jesus in the temple (34:37) serves only as an example of sacrificial giving (the widow's mite), not as the fulfillment of the temple or the basis for New Covenant generosity. The message remains a moralistic call to action (obedience/tithing) for pragmatic results (blessing/provision).
🧱 Sermon Outline
- Introduction: The Problem of Procrastination [00:05:15 ▶️ 📄] : Procrastination is delaying what God calls us to; delayed obedience is still disobedience. The Israelites delayed rebuilding the temple for 18 years.
- Point 1: Waiting on Peace (Comfort) [00:12:08 ▶️ 📄] : The Israelites were living in 'paneled houses' (luxury/comfort) while God's house was in ruins. True peace is the presence of God in the midst of trouble, not ideal circumstances.
- Point 2: Waiting for More (Discontentment) [00:18:04 ▶️ 📄] : They felt economically frustrated ('purse with holes'). They used lack as a reason not to give, but God said their lack was the result of not prioritizing Him. When you build God's house, you will have more.
- Point 3: Waiting on an Instruction (Obedience) [00:22:01 ▶️ 📄] : God gave the instruction to 'Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house.' The people obeyed, and God stirred up their spirit. Obedience precedes peace and blessing.
🗝️ Key Topics & Themes
- Obedience : The central theme, emphasizing that delayed obedience is disobedience and that simple obedience is powerful.
- Tithing : Discussed as an act of obedience and a reminder that God is the source, covering myths and truths about tithing.
- Procrastination : The enemy uses delay when he cannot achieve disobedience, keeping people stuck in cycles of waiting.
- Priorities : Spiritual growth is aligning personal priorities with the priorities of God's kingdom (building His house).
✅ Commendations
Pastoral Heart | Inclusion of a Salvation Call
Despite the sermon's profound theological errors, the inclusion of a clear call for listeners to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ (37:22) is commendable. It demonstrates a desire, however misdirected by the sermon's main thrust, to see people saved.
Rhetoric | Passionate Delivery
The speaker delivers the message with passion and conviction, effectively engaging the audience on an emotional level.
⚠️ Theological Concerns
🔴 Transactional Theology (Prosperity Gospel)
Root Cause: Therapeutic Deism / Prosperity Gospel. This error reduces God to a cosmic vending machine whose function is to provide temporal fulfillment and success in response to human actions, rather than being the sovereign Lord who is Himself the ultimate reward.
"The real premise of this whole text... is... when I build God's house, he'll bless mine." [00:10:29 ▶️ 📄]
Correction: God's blessing in the New Covenant is rooted in the finished work of Christ, not our financial performance. We are blessed 'with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ' (Ephesians 1:3) by grace through faith. Generosity is the fruit of salvation, not the cause of blessing.
🔴 Legalistic Application of Tithing
Root Cause: Legalism / Galatian Heresy. This is a form of returning to the law, adding a requirement of works (a mandated tithe) to the gospel of grace as a condition for securing God's full blessing, which Paul condemns as 'a different gospel' (Galatians 1:6).
"Tithing isn't generosity, it's obedience... Malachi 3 says anything else is robbing God." [00:29:45 ▶️ 📄]
Correction: The New Testament does not command a 10% tithe. Instead, it sets forth principles of giving: cheerfully (2 Cor 9:7), sacrificially (Mark 12:41-44), and proportionally ('as he may prosper,' 1 Cor 16:2). The motivation is the grace of Christ, not the fear of a curse from Malachi.
🟠 Claim of Extra-Biblical Revelation
Root Cause: Neo-Montanism. This error repeats the ancient heresy of Montanism, which claimed new, continuing prophecies and revelations from the Holy Spirit that were considered equal in authority to Scripture, thereby denying the finality and sufficiency of the biblical canon.
"...and the Lord said, don't inspire them, instruct them." [00:01:33 ▶️ 📄]
Correction: The canon of Scripture is closed (Revelation 22:18-19). God speaks authoritatively to His church today through His written Word, which is 'profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness' (2 Timothy 3:16). The Holy Spirit illuminates the Word, He does not add to it.

This year we're celebrating 20 years of ministry at Elevation Church.
[00:00:05] From our first Sunday in 2006 to worship experiences around the world today, we have seen God move in power again and again.
[00:00:15] Every story, every step,
[00:00:17] Every open door has been the result of His faithfulness.
[00:00:21] As we close the year, I wanted to invite you to be a part of our year-end offering, sowing into what God is doing now and what's still ahead.
[00:00:31] Your generosity helps make ministry possible, not just in buildings, but in hearts and in homes across the world.
[00:00:38] You can give any time through the end of the year at elevationchurch.org.
[00:00:43] Thank you for being a part of this move of God.
[00:00:46] Let's get to the message.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_02]:
What an awesome atmosphere of thanksgiving and praise today.
[00:00:53] And I'm so grateful to be able to be here with you today to share God's word.
[00:00:57] My name is Jonathan.
[00:00:57] If we haven't got the chance to meet, everybody calls me
[00:01:01] A lot of love from over here at Ballantyne.
[00:01:04] I have the privilege of serving here as the Ballantyne campus pastor.
[00:01:07] I've had the honor of serving under Pastor Stephen and Pastor Holly for 12 years now, almost 13 years now, and it's been the joy of our life.
[00:01:14] How many are grateful that Pastor Stephen and Pastor Holly gave God their yes and created a place for us to live out the calling and mandate on our life?
[00:01:25] I'm so grateful I get to share God's Word with you today.
[00:01:29] I've been praying about what to share, and I felt like the Lord gave me a really clear assignment.
[00:01:33] I was asking God to give me a word that would inspire you to give as we are in this special time in our church, and the Lord said, don't inspire them, instruct them.
[00:01:41] And so I came with a word of instruction today.
[00:01:44] How many know that God's Word serves different purposes in our life?
[00:01:47] He can encourage us through His Word.
[00:01:49] He can inspire us through His Word.
[00:01:51] Sometimes His Holy Spirit will give us an insight, but...
[00:01:54] I'm growing more and more grateful for the times the Lord shows up with an instruction for me.
[00:01:59] And that's my assignment for today.
[00:02:01] And this really is a special time of year for us here at Elevation Church as we're getting ready for our expansion offering in just a couple weeks.
[00:02:08] We've got a new building coming in Raleigh, North Carolina.
[00:02:10] Shout out to our Raleigh campus.
[00:02:14] We just opened a brand new Greenville campus.
[00:02:16] We're about to launch a campus in Somerville, South Carolina, outside of Charleston.
[00:02:21] Can we thank God for all the outreach that's happening through this ministry?
[00:02:28] Well, I want to read this scripture to you today from Haggai chapter one.
[00:02:32] If you haven't heard of Haggai, he's a minor prophet that the Lord uses in a major way.
[00:02:38] And one thing that caught my attention was, you know, in your Bible, there's the inspired word, and then there's the parts the publishers kind of put at the top of each section to give you an idea of what that chapter's about.
[00:02:49] Well, right at the top of Haggai chapter one, it says this, a call to build the house of the Lord.
[00:02:56] And I just thought that was so fitting for the season that we're in because whether you've been a part of this church for just a little while or whether you've been a part of this church for over a decade or all 20 years maybe, there's a call on each of us, an assignment from God right now, to build the house of God.
[00:03:12] And while of course you know this offering will go towards helping us launch new campuses, y'all know this, it's never been about new buildings.
[00:03:18] The Bible says God does not live in houses built by men, but we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
[00:03:23] It's always been about seeing people far from God raised to life in Christ.
[00:03:27] But there's something powerful that happens in our lives when we connect our purpose to the purpose and priorities of God.
[00:03:36] So let's look at Haggai chapter 1.
[00:03:38] It says, In the second year of King Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, the governor of Judah, and Joshua, son of Josedach, the high priest.
[00:03:55] This is what the Lord Almighty says.
[00:03:57] These people say, The time has not yet come to rebuild the Lord's house.
[00:04:03] Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai.
[00:04:06] Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in paneled houses while this house remains a ruin?
[00:04:13] Now this is what the Lord Almighty says.
[00:04:16] Give careful thought to your ways.
[00:04:18] You have planted much, but harvested little.
[00:04:21] You eat, but never have enough.
[00:04:24] You drink, but never have your fill.
[00:04:27] You put on clothes, but you are not warm.
[00:04:29] You earn wages only to put them in a purse with holes in it.
[00:04:35] This is what the Lord Almighty says.
[00:04:36] Give careful thought to your ways.
[00:04:39] Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house.
[00:04:45] Go up into the mountains, bring down timber, and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord.
[00:04:57] The title of my message today is, This is the Time.
[00:05:00] This is the time.
[00:05:02] Touch your neighbor as you take your seat and say, This is the time.
[00:05:07] Last week, Pastor Stephen preached, This is Then.
[00:05:09] What a powerful word for us.
[00:05:11] Today, I want to stay in that spirit.
[00:05:13] This is the time.
[00:05:15] I thought about opening up this message with a little bit of audience participation but then I decided against it because I was gonna ask the question I was gonna have you raise your hand and self-identify if you are a procrastinator but the more I thought about it I realized you wouldn't be honest and so the better way would have been to say raise your hand if you're sitting next to a procrastinator and then I might have yeah yeah yeah
[00:05:39] But the more I thought about it, I thought it's not really a fair question to ask because the more I gave it thought, the more I realized that, well, each of us have certain areas and aspects of our life that we treat with urgency and diligence.
[00:05:52] At the same time, all of us have areas in our life where we procrastinate.
[00:05:56] So what you treat with diligence and urgency might not be the same thing as someone else, but there's something you procrastinate on that's probably driving your spouse nuts.
[00:06:05] And I thought about just a couple weeks ago, I got really aggravated with my wife, Anna.
[00:06:09] Now, before, I know I don't get to preach here all that often, not all of you know us, so trust me when I say we're good.
[00:06:14] We've been married 15 years.
[00:06:15] She's the love of my life.
[00:06:16] She's obsessed with me.
[00:06:17] Ever since I grew out my hair, she calls me her Maui, her Canadian, Chinese, Jamaican Maui.
[00:06:25] I don't know, it's...
[00:06:27] I always like to make the message weird right at the top, but a couple weeks ago I got real aggravated because one thing I can't stand is subscriptions.
[00:06:38] There's nothing worse than looking at my bank account and realizing that I've been paying for something that I haven't even been using.
[00:06:45] Today I open up my inbox and I see an email that says that we had subscribed to Apple TV through Amazon Prime.
[00:06:53] Help me make sense of this.
[00:06:54] We had subscribed to Apple TV through Amazon Prime.
[00:06:57] They're all in cahoots.
[00:06:59] And I said,
[00:07:00] Anna, did you subscribe to Apple TV?
[00:07:02] And she said, yeah, I did.
[00:07:03] There was a movie I wanted to watch with the kids, and it was on Apple TV, so I subscribed.
[00:07:07] I said, well, that's not the problem that you subscribe to Apple TV.
[00:07:10] The problem is we already have Apple TV and Amazon Prime.
[00:07:15] And she's like, oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize it.
[00:07:18] She said, don't worry, I already put a reminder in my phone to cancel it.
[00:07:21] I said, well, go ahead and just cancel it right now.
[00:07:23] And she's like, well, no, I'm busy right now, but don't worry.
[00:07:26] I put a reminder in my phone to cancel it.
[00:07:29] And y'all, I know how this goes.
[00:07:30] We've been married for 15 years.
[00:07:32] That reminder might go off when our daughter's having a breakdown.
[00:07:35] That reminder might go off when she's in the middle of a conversation.
[00:07:38] And next thing I know, I might be paying another $9.99 for Apple TV through Amazon Prime when I already have Apple TV.
[00:07:45] So I said, no, cancel it now.
[00:07:46] This is the time.
[00:07:49] This is the time.
[00:07:52] Now I can share that story because I'm the one with the microphone, but Anna could give you hundreds of examples of when my procrastination cost us.
[00:08:00] Like when she kept telling me to make sure I added her engagement ring to our insurance policy in case it ever got lost, and I didn't add the engagement ring to the insurance policy.
[00:08:09] How many of you know that that ring that got lost cost a lot more than a subscription?
[00:08:15] But all of us have places in our life that we procrastinate on, and that's really what the Lord is addressing in the hearts of his people in this passage.
[00:08:23] You see, God, of course, you know, had delivered his people out of Egypt, taken them into the Promised Land through King Solomon.
[00:08:29] He built the temple for the Lord in the Promised Land.
[00:08:32] Along the way, through their disobedience, they get invaded by foreigners, they get taken into exile, and now when we pick up in the book of Haggai, God has brought them back into the Promised Land,
[00:08:42] And he's giving them this charge to rebuild his temple because they have been procrastinating on it because what is not a priority to you, you will always procrastinate on.
[00:08:53] And so when God sends this word of instruction to his people, it's because he is trying to make important to them what is important to him.
[00:09:03] And he's frustrated.
[00:09:04] And how do I know they're frustrated?
[00:09:05] He's frustrated.
[00:09:06] Look at verse 2.
[00:09:07] In verse 2 it says, This is what the Lord Almighty says, These people say.
[00:09:11] Not my people.
[00:09:12] These people say.
[00:09:13] It's like when Anna says, your daughter has an attitude today.
[00:09:17] These people say.
[00:09:18] And the Lord sends this word in his grace and in his mercy through the prophet Haggai to the leaders of the nation saying, it's time for you to get back to work.
[00:09:27] It's time for you to prioritize in your life what is important to me.
[00:09:31] Now, it's important to know that one of the ways the devil keeps you stuck in your life is by getting you to procrastinate and push off the things that God is calling you to.
[00:09:42] He's smart, you know.
[00:09:44] So if the enemy just tried to get you to disobey, hey, just ignore what God said.
[00:09:48] You're too smart for that, and he knows that.
[00:09:49] You'd be like, ah, that's the devil.
[00:09:50] I'm not going to listen to that.
[00:09:52] So when the devil can't get you to disobey, he'll get you to delay.
[00:09:57] And we have a way of putting off the things that God has called us to over and over and over again.
[00:10:03] And they're saying, now is not the time.
[00:10:05] Now is not the time.
[00:10:06] They've set a reminder in their phone and God's saying, you can't keep putting this off anymore.
[00:10:11] Now is the time to build my house.
[00:10:13] All the parents can testify with what I'm about to say and it's true of the scripture.
[00:10:16] How many of you know that delayed obedience is still disobedience?
[00:10:21] All the parents make some noise.
[00:10:25] Delayed obedience is still disobedience.
[00:10:29] The real premise of this whole text that I want to encourage you with is the truth that you see and the principle that you see in this passage of, when I build God's house, he'll bless mine.
[00:10:40] When I build God's house, he'll bless mine.
[00:10:43] And so no wonder the enemy wants to keep us in this cycle of delaying and putting off the very things that God has asked them to do.
[00:10:51] And if the enemy can keep us stuck in these cycles of delay and procrastination, then he can keep us back from the things that God has in store for us.
[00:10:59] If he can delay our sowing, he can delay our reaping.
[00:11:03] So God, in his grace, sends this word to his people saying, no, no, no, you've been saying the time has not yet come, but he's saying now is the time.
[00:11:11] It is a call to build his house.
[00:11:14] And that is really the invitation and the season that we have before us as a church right now.
[00:11:19] It's not about buildings.
[00:11:20] It's not just about this offering.
[00:11:21] It's about aligning our priorities with the priorities of God.
[00:11:26] So much of spiritual growth in your life is simply that.
[00:11:30] God getting you to care about the things that matter to his kingdom and getting you to deprioritize the things that the world tells you are important.
[00:11:37] That is spiritual growth.
[00:11:39] The more I align my priorities with the priorities of heaven, the more peace I have, the more joy I have, the more blessing I walk in, the more favor I have.
[00:11:47] And so God is always calling us into something and the enemy will get you to say, ah, it's not just the time yet.
[00:11:53] So there's a few things in this passage of Scripture that I think were keeping the Israelites in this moment, in this cycle of waiting, in this cycle of putting off.
[00:12:03] See, most people never say no to God.
[00:12:05] Sometimes we just say, not yet.
[00:12:08] One of the things that I think they were waiting on is that they were waiting on peace.
[00:12:13] They were waiting for peace.
[00:12:16] Now, when I first read this passage, I thought, what is the problem?
[00:12:20] They've just come out of exile.
[00:12:22] They're back in the land.
[00:12:23] What's the problem with them putting together their own homes and making sure that they have shelter over their heads and for their families?
[00:12:29] And once they get through that, then of course they could build the temple.
[00:12:33] But there's an important detail in this passage in Haggai.
[00:12:37] God says, is it a time for you to be living in paneled houses?
[00:12:42] That's an important detail because the panel was not functional.
[00:12:46] It was aesthetic.
[00:12:47] And so what the Lord is saying is that you are continuing to live in comfort and luxury while my house remains in ruins.
[00:12:56] And listen, God is not bothered when we have nice things.
[00:12:59] God is not upset by our comfort.
[00:13:00] But sometimes we get so trapped in comfort and we call it peace.
[00:13:05] Some of us are waiting for peace, and when we say the word peace, we don't mean the peace that God gives.
[00:13:12] Because the peace that God gives means the presence of God even in the midst of trouble, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
[00:13:20] And so sometimes when we say peace, what we really mean is when things feel comfortable.
[00:13:25] I just didn't have peace about that.
[00:13:26] No, things just weren't comfortable yet.
[00:13:28] Things just weren't easy.
[00:13:30] Sometimes when we say peace, we mean that we're waiting on the ideal circumstances for everything to line up, and hey, when I get all my stuff figured out, then I'll prioritize the things that matter to God.
[00:13:41] And so they stay stuck in this place saying, if then, if I can just get to this, if I can just get the kids graduate, then, then, then, then we'll prioritize the things that matter to God.
[00:13:51] But the other interesting thing is that this wasn't one year or two years or three years after they'd been in the land that God sends this word through Haggai.
[00:14:00] When God sends this word through his prophet Haggai to Joshua and to Zerubbabel, they had been back in the land for 18 years.
[00:14:11] 18 years they've been living back in the land.
[00:14:13] That's like Anna asking me to take the trash out, and I say, oh, I'll get to it, and I finally do it when my son is 29 years old.
[00:14:20] 18 years they've been waiting in the land.
[00:14:23] In the book of Ezra, it tells us the account of when they got back out of exile as well and how they began right away rebuilding the temple.
[00:14:31] And in the first two years, they built the foundation of the temple.
[00:14:35] But then there was external attacks from nearby enemies.
[00:14:38] There was internal discord.
[00:14:40] They had pressures from the outside, pressures from the inside.
[00:14:43] And after two years of building the foundation, in Ezra chapter four, it ends with this horrible verse where it says that the work on the Lord's house came to a standstill.
[00:14:53] When the circumstances got hard, they stopped.
[00:14:57] And somewhere along the way, we've convinced ourselves or bought into this idea that following God was supposed to be easy.
[00:15:05] And so we say things like, oh, the Lord just shut the door.
[00:15:08] The Lord just shut the door, or you just gave up because it got hard?
[00:15:11] Because I know a God who can open up doors that no man can shut.
[00:15:15] And if you would just keep moving in accordance to his word, he could open that door for you.
[00:15:20] And so all of us have a decision we get to make in our life when it comes to how we live.
[00:15:24] I can either base my decisions on my circumstances, or I can base my decisions on what God says.
[00:15:31] When I choose to build my life on what he says, then I can't consult my circumstances.
[00:15:37] And the moment things in their life got difficult, whether it was attacks from the inside or attacks from the outside, they stopped on the work that God had called them to do.
[00:15:46] Two years they built the foundation, and then for 16 years it sat there while they continued to work on their houses.
[00:15:54] Some of us in our church, some of you have built a foundation of faith.
[00:15:59] Yeah, there was a time where you trusted God and you were pushing through and you were diligent about the things that he had called you to and you sacrificed and you were living by faith and somewhere along the way you said, that's good enough and you stopped building.
[00:16:11] Why this is a tradition for us as a church is because this is not a one-time thing we invite you to be a part of.
[00:16:18] Every year when we have this year-end offering, it's an opportunity for you to decide, is God finished or is this just the foundation?
[00:16:27] I don't want it to be said of me what was said in Ezra chapter 4 that the work of the Lord finished.
[00:16:32] I want to continue to see God take me from glory to glory to strength to strength.
[00:16:38] And whether that's in your own life or your own family or your business or certainly this ministry, I don't believe that God is done yet.
[00:16:45] So I can't keep waiting for the perfect circumstances and the ideal scenarios before I say yes to what God has asked us to do.
[00:16:53] God has asked us to see people far from God, raised to life in Christ, and that is the invitation before us now.
[00:17:00] They were waiting for peace, but not the type of peace that God gives.
[00:17:03] Because one thing I've learned in my life is that very rarely did peace precede my obedience.
[00:17:10] Often it was when I obeyed.
[00:17:12] Then I experienced the peace of God.
[00:17:16] And so when someone gets up and says, we're getting ready for our year-end offering on December 14th, someone might say, I just don't have peace about that.
[00:17:23] But what if you sought the Lord, listened to his voice, and obeyed what he said?
[00:17:28] I promise you, you would experience the peace that God gives on the other side.
[00:17:33] The other thing that I think had them stuck...
[00:17:35] Thank you.
[00:17:36] Praise the Lord, everybody.
[00:17:37] That's a good word.
[00:17:39] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because the enemy keeps us in this cycle because we're saying, ah, it's just not the right time.
[00:17:45] The economy's hard.
[00:17:46] When I get this debt paid off?
[00:17:47] No, no, no.
[00:17:48] If the Lord speaks to you, today is the day to obey him.
[00:17:50] Hebrews says, today when you hear God's voice, do not harden your heart.
[00:17:55] And every time God speaks to you, it's an opportunity for obedience.
[00:17:58] Y'all, if you think this message is just about money, you're missing the point.
[00:18:01] This is about obedience to his voice.
[00:18:04] The other thing that kept them stuck was that they were waiting for more.
[00:18:08] Look at this description that the Lord gives in verse 6.
[00:18:12] You planted much, but harvested little.
[00:18:15] You eat, but you never have enough.
[00:18:17] You drink, but you never have your fill.
[00:18:18] You put on clothes, but you are not warm.
[00:18:21] You earn wages only to put them in a purse with holes in it.
[00:18:25] Does that not describe our lives in so many ways sometimes?
[00:18:29] That cycle of discontentment that we live in where it feels like no matter what we do, it's never enough.
[00:18:36] You look at your bank and you're like, I know I got paid.
[00:18:37] Where did it all go?
[00:18:38] Target, that's where it all went.
[00:18:41] Put it in a purse just to have holes on it.
[00:18:43] Where did this end up?
[00:18:45] And the Lord is addressing one of the excuses that so often we carry because how many of you have found yourself in one moment or another in your life simply saying, well, if I had more, I would do more.
[00:18:56] If I had more, I would give more.
[00:18:58] And that's the place that the Israelites find themselves in.
[00:19:01] They feel economically frustrated.
[00:19:04] And they're using that as a reason not to rebuild the Lord's temple.
[00:19:09] So they keep saying, well, we just don't have enough.
[00:19:13] And it's interesting how what the Lord is describing here is the very thing that they use as a reason not to give.
[00:19:19] But what the Lord is trying to get them to see is that what they are calling a reason is actually the result.
[00:19:26] Let me say that a little more clearly.
[00:19:28] They're saying, well, Lord, if we had more, we would build your house.
[00:19:31] And the Lord's saying, no, no, no, if you built my house, you would have more.
[00:19:40] Because it's about priorities.
[00:19:41] His temple represented his priority amongst his people, his presence amongst his people.
[00:19:46] And so he's saying, no, no, no, you keep waiting to have more, but when will you prioritize me and your presence?
[00:19:52] When you begin to do that, you'll see that it's better to have God in a little with me than to have much without God.
[00:19:58] Amen?
[00:20:01] When I was in high school, I spent a month living on a missions trip in Namibia, Africa.
[00:20:06] And while I was there, I met a pastor.
[00:20:08] His church was just a piece of sheet metal off the side of his house where his church met.
[00:20:13] And it made such a profound impact on my life, and we developed a great relationship.
[00:20:17] And then when I went off to college, he actually ended up living with my family in Canada while he was attending school in Canada.
[00:20:24] And so when I was home for the summers, we'd spend all the time together, and we'd go to the church that I grew up in.
[00:20:29] No matter what the pastor preached on, we'd get back in the car after church, and Kamadi would always say to me, John, why don't they talk about giving?
[00:20:36] No matter what the message, why don't they talk about giving?
[00:20:39] And eventually he said, I don't know, Kamadi, I don't know the reasons why they're not talking about it.
[00:20:43] I said, sometimes people feel weird or get upset when you talk about their money.
[00:20:47] And he said, John, it's better that they be angry for a day than frustrated for a lifetime.
[00:20:57] Because what Kamadi knew,
[00:20:59] With just a piece of sheet metal over the side of his house for a church and unreliable electricity, what he understood is that without God, it's never enough.
[00:21:10] But with God, it's always enough.
[00:21:15] Just as the disciples went, Jesus asked them to feed a crowd of people, and they said, all we have is five loaves and two fishes.
[00:21:23] It's not enough.
[00:21:24] It's not enough.
[00:21:26] But with God, there's leftovers.
[00:21:31] And the enemy will keep us delaying and delaying on stepping into the things that God has called us to as a people.
[00:21:37] Why?
[00:21:37] Because he wants to keep us in this cycle of discontentment where it always feels like, I just can't get ahead.
[00:21:43] I just can't get ahead.
[00:21:44] And the principle of the tithe is simply this.
[00:21:46] Every time I give to God through my tithe, it reminds me that God is my source.
[00:21:53] God is my provider.
[00:21:54] So no matter what I'm looking at, I know that God is in it with me.
[00:21:59] And so they were waiting on more.
[00:22:01] The last thing I think they were waiting on is I think they were waiting on an instruction.
[00:22:05] Look at this, what happens.
[00:22:07] After God confronts their excuses, he says,
[00:22:11] Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord.
[00:22:20] I love that.
[00:22:20] So that I may take pleasure in it and be honored.
[00:22:24] Because so much of this offering is not just about new buildings and outreach efforts.
[00:22:28] It's about honoring the Lord with our lives.
[00:22:31] It says build my house so that I may be honored in it.
[00:22:34] And after the Lord gives this instruction, something miraculous happens in the story that I want to show you.
[00:22:40] The Lord gives this word in verse 8, saying, go bring down timber and build my house.
[00:22:44] And then look in verse 12.
[00:22:46] Then Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, Joshua, son of Josedach, the high priest, and the whole remnant of people obeyed the voice of the Lord their God.
[00:23:04] Do you see that miracle in that text?
[00:23:06] Did you miss it?
[00:23:07] It says that the people obeyed.
[00:23:11] Y'all, there's only a few times in Scripture where God sends a word to his people and they actually obey.
[00:23:18] And this is one of those times.
[00:23:21] And I'm being a little facetious, but we underestimate the power of obedience.
[00:23:25] Y'all, Lord, mark my life with signs, wonders, miracles.
[00:23:28] What about if the Lord marked your life with just simple obedience?
[00:23:31] What if being a follower of Christ looked like you being someone who sought his face and when he spoke, you gave him your yes?
[00:23:39] So the Lord delivers this word through his leaders, and it's amazing.
[00:23:43] It says that as Joshua obeyed, and as Zerubbabel obeyed, that the whole remnant of people followed.
[00:23:48] Y'all, that just made me grateful for the leaders that God has given us at this church.
[00:23:53] Leaders who didn't settle at year 5 or at year 10,
[00:23:56] or at year 15 but 20 years into this ministry Pastor Stephen and Pastor Holly continue to say yes to God and walk in surrender to his voice and to his ways because God speaks to the leaders and then the people followed and I'm so grateful for the example of faith that they've given us and there's an invitation before us now to prioritize the things that matter to God in our lives and simply obey him that's why as we talk about this offering over and over again
[00:24:24] Pray about what the Lord would have you give.
[00:24:27] It's not just about an amount.
[00:24:29] It's about being a people who know how to seek his face, being a people who know how to hear his voice and obey when he speaks.
[00:24:37] Isn't that what Jesus said?
[00:24:38] My sheep know and hear and recognize my voice, and they obey.
[00:24:42] That's the sign of a follower of Christ.
[00:24:45] They were waiting on instruction, and when the Lord spoke, they obeyed.
[00:24:50] And I believe that maybe there are some people here today that in your heart you're like, I want to trust God in this way.
[00:24:55] I want to grow in this way.
[00:24:56] I just don't always know how.
[00:24:58] In 12 years of pastoring, I can't think of a single time where I talked to someone about giving and they said, nope, I don't want to do that.
[00:25:05] I've had people say, I just don't know how to right now.
[00:25:08] I've had people say, show me what steps I can take.
[00:25:10] I want to get there one day.
[00:25:11] I've never had someone just say no.
[00:25:14] But sometimes we're putting off what God has called us to put on, but they received an instruction from the Lord, and they obeyed.
[00:25:21] I remember so vividly when my grandfather sat me down in his office and he first gave me the instruction of what it means to trust God in my finances.
[00:25:29] And he sat down and he said, the first tenth belongs to God.
[00:25:33] In my memory, it was like he was using an abacus, but it was probably just a calculator, it wasn't that old.
[00:25:40] I was just a kid though, and he said, the first tenth belongs to God.
[00:25:44] The second tenth is what you pay yourself in the future by saving.
[00:25:47] Now, I know there's some financial advisors in the room who could give a more nuanced approach to personal finances, but my grandfather was a blessed man, and so I listened to him, and it stuck with me.
[00:25:58] The first tenth belongs to God.
[00:26:00] The next tenth is for my future.
[00:26:02] And I was just a kid, so what was I going to do?
[00:26:04] Give God a tenth of my Legos?
[00:26:05] But it instilled something in me right there, that the first tenth belonged to the Lord.
[00:26:11] And then when Anna and I got engaged, my in-laws who are here today, they gave us the gift of signing us up for Dave Ramsey's financial peace course.
[00:26:19] And we went through Dave Ramsey's course and that was powerful instruction in our life.
[00:26:24] You know, most couples fight over finances more than anything else.
[00:26:27] And I'm so grateful that at the start of our marriage that we got to go through that course to get on the same page about how we would approach our finances.
[00:26:34] And Dave Ramsey talked about a lot of things and he talked, of course, about giving to God, giving a tenth to him.
[00:26:38] So every time a paycheck would show up in our account, you know, you just move the decimal over a couple times and that's what you give.
[00:26:44] And from the beginning of our marriage, we made the decision that we would be tithers.
[00:26:48] God gave us an instruction, and we walked in it.
[00:26:51] But I was thinking about the first time we ever visited Elevation Church, our very first time.
[00:26:56] It was the end of 2012, and this year our offering is called Trust in God, but in 2012 it was called our Banner Year Offering.
[00:27:04] And me and Anna drove all the way to Charlotte.
[00:27:06] We drove like three hours to be at church, and we were so excited to come and hear Pastor Stephen speak.
[00:27:11] And we get to church, and guess what?
[00:27:12] Pastor Stephen wasn't speaking.
[00:27:15] And the guest speaker was talking about money, so I can empathize with y'all today.
[00:27:25] And the pastor preaching that day got up and he was talking about generosity and he was talking about tithing and he taught about the principle of the first fruits.
[00:27:33] See, I always knew that a tithe meant tenth, that I give a tenth to God.
[00:27:37] But he taught about the principle of the first fruits, what meant that not only is a tithe a tenth, it's the first tenth.
[00:27:44] The first tenth.
[00:27:45] And so all my life I had learned like, well, I'll give to God off my net.
[00:27:49] Whatever shows up in my bank account, I'll give a tenth of that.
[00:27:51] And he taught, no, no, it's the principle of the first fruits, meaning before the government takes their share and before you contribute to your retirement account, out of your gross, you give a tenth to God.
[00:28:01] And our heart was opened that day and we received the word of instruction from that pastor and made a decision to obey.
[00:28:08] I'm so grateful for the instruction of God in my life.
[00:28:11] There's been so many times where God spoke things to me that I didn't always understand in the moment, but you know when it's his voice.
[00:28:17] And when you obey, you begin to walk in a new level of blessing.
[00:28:20] And I thought maybe there are people here today that are saying, man,
[00:28:25] I want to make God the center of my finances because when you prioritize God in one area of your life, it's amazing how things fall into order in every other area of your life.
[00:28:34] That's why I said, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.
[00:28:40] It's about priority.
[00:28:41] You put God first, things just start to fall into order.
[00:28:45] The other day I was on Instagram and a friend of mine, he pastors a church out in Sacramento.
[00:28:49] A church that all of you have been able to help support over the years.
[00:28:53] He had this clip where he was talking about the myths and truths of tithing.
[00:28:59] And I texted him.
[00:29:01] I said, can you send me that?
[00:29:02] I want to share it with the church.
[00:29:03] And it was so powerful what he said.
[00:29:04] And these are his words I'm going to read.
[00:29:06] So if you don't like it, you can email him.
[00:29:08] jared.ellis.echuchurch.
[00:29:10] I don't even know.
[00:29:11] I don't know if that's his real email, but...
[00:29:15] But he said, look at this, myth, tithing is Old Testament law.
[00:29:19] Truth, tithing predates the law.
[00:29:21] Both Abraham and Jacob tithed out of gratitude.
[00:29:24] The law made tithing a rule, but the cross returned it to an act of worship.
[00:29:28] Myth, you're cursed if you don't tithe.
[00:29:29] Truth, you're not cursed if you don't tithe.
[00:29:31] Christ removed the curse on the cross.
[00:29:33] Under the new covenant, we don't tithe to avoid a curse.
[00:29:36] We tithe because in Christ, we are exceedingly abundantly blessed.
[00:29:41] I don't need to tithe since I'm a generous person.
[00:29:45] Tithing isn't generosity, it's obedience.
[00:29:49] Tithing is outdated and no longer needed.
[00:29:51] If God's kingdom is still advancing and his people are still gathering, his house still needs building and your treasure still needs investing.
[00:29:59] I don't have to tithe 10%, I can give what I want.
[00:30:02] Tithing is not a have to, it's a get to.
[00:30:05] Under grace, 10% is a floor, not a ceiling.
[00:30:08] I can tithe to an organization of my choosing.
[00:30:11] The tithe belongs to the house of the Lord.
[00:30:13] Malachi 3 says anything else is robbing God.
[00:30:16] Someone else will tithe and take care of my part.
[00:30:19] All Christians are called to tithe.
[00:30:20] Yet, only a few church members do.
[00:30:22] Churches don't die because of too much money.
[00:30:25] They die because of too little.
[00:30:26] I should be able to attend church and experience for free.
[00:30:29] Truth.
[00:30:30] Biblical worship always includes a sacrifice.
[00:30:33] As a member of the family, I have a responsibility to contribute.
[00:30:36] Guests eat for free, but family puts food on the table.
[00:30:45] I've worked too hard for my money to give it away.
[00:30:48] You worked hard, but God provided.
[00:30:50] Tithing reminds you that God is your source.
[00:30:53] Your job has a purpose, and your money is making an eternal impact.
[00:30:57] I can't afford to tithe.
[00:31:00] With hundreds of promises in Scripture concerning your finances, you can't afford not to tithe.
[00:31:05] I don't trust the church to handle my money.
[00:31:08] If you trust your church and your pastor to dedicate your babies, counsel your marriage, support your children, shepherd your soul, visit your family members, evangelize your lost loved ones, pray for your future, answer your emails, bury your dead, write your obituary, endure election seasons, preach through global pandemics, send out missionaries, finance outreach organizations, build buildings, smile through slander, all the while maintain integrity,
[00:31:34] How much more do they need to do for you to trust them with your tithe?
[00:31:44] I'm getting a little jealous y'all are shouting for Jared more than me but it's a good word, it's a good word.
[00:31:50] If you don't trust your church, then find a church you do trust.
[00:31:55] But if the fruit is evident, souls are won, outreach is accomplished, children are equipped, families are championed, Scripture is preached, and God is glorified, then church, this is the time to tithe.
[00:32:07] This is the time to tithe.
[00:32:10] Look at your neighbors and say, this is the time.
[00:32:13] This is the time.
[00:32:16] God gave them this an instruction and they obeyed be seated for just a moment I'm not quite done yet so powerful though and they obeyed and then look what happened in verse 13 then Haggai the Lord's messenger gave this amazing word to the people he gave this message from the Lord to the people I am with you declares the Lord what's greater than that what's greater than the assurance of his presence I don't give to get I don't get so give so I can have more to eat or more clothes to put on my back
[00:32:46] Give, because more than anything, I want his presence.
[00:32:50] When you prioritize him in his life, when you seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, it's amazing.
[00:32:55] You create space in your heart to trust him more.
[00:32:58] The assurance of his presence, his provision, his protection, isn't that what our pastor preached on a couple of weeks ago?
[00:33:04] That comes when we trust in God.
[00:33:07] And then it goes on to say, So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, he stirred up the spirit of Joshua, and he stirred up the spirit of the whole remnant of people.
[00:33:20] They came and began to work on the house of the Lord Almighty, their God.
[00:33:25] He stirred up their spirit.
[00:33:27] I love that language.
[00:33:28] Because I'm excited to be able to open new campuses and launch new buildings and all the ministry that's going to happen through those opportunities as the Lord continues to expand our church.
[00:33:38] But more than anything, I want to see God stir up the spirit of our people.
[00:33:42] I want God to stir up my spirit.
[00:33:45] I want the Holy Spirit to just begin a work in me that overflows and touches nations.
[00:33:50] I want God to stir something up in our church that proclaims the gospel all over the world.
[00:33:56] And it's a really simple progression that happens in this story, but it's so powerful.
[00:34:00] God spoke.
[00:34:02] They surrendered.
[00:34:04] God stirred.
[00:34:06] God gave them a word.
[00:34:07] They said yes.
[00:34:10] And God, by His Spirit, stirred up their faith to do something incredible for Him.
[00:34:14] That's the same invitation God is giving each of us.
[00:34:17] It's amazing what God can do with your simple yes.
[00:34:20] It's amazing what the Lord can do with your obedience.
[00:34:22] He spoke.
[00:34:23] When we just say yes to him, regardless of our circumstances, regardless of where we feel like we don't have enough, when we simply give him our yes, he'll stir up our spirits.
[00:34:34] They went on to build this temple, and the temple they rebuilt was the very temple Jesus himself would sit in one day.
[00:34:40] And there's a story in both Luke and Mark where Jesus is sitting in the temple and he calls the disciples over to himself.
[00:34:47] And as they are in the building, this interaction between Jesus and his disciples.
[00:34:51] The disciples, they're making comments about the building.
[00:34:54] They're saying, look how magnificent this temple is.
[00:34:57] Look at these stones.
[00:34:59] But Jesus isn't interested in the stones.
[00:35:01] Jesus is about to witness something much more powerful.
[00:35:04] Jesus' attention is on sacrifice.
[00:35:07] because he calls the disciples over to himself and while they're thinking about the stones he points out a widow who has just two small copper coins and Jesus points her out to the disciples as she goes to give her offering in the temple and the scripture says that she gave all that she had it wasn't a lot of money but it was a lot of faith
[00:35:28] It wasn't a big amount, but it was a lot of trust.
[00:35:31] And while other people were giving larger amounts, Jesus wasn't as interested in that because he was drawn to her trust in God.
[00:35:38] She gave all that she had.
[00:35:39] And the disciples were so focused on the house of worship, but what Jesus was drawn to was the heart of worship.
[00:35:47] And I'm so grateful that through this offering we're going to get to build new buildings, but when Jesus steps into this room, he's not impressed with stages or screens.
[00:35:55] He sees our sacrifice.
[00:35:56] He sees our heart for worship.
[00:35:59] And God is honored and takes pleasure in when we as his people, we as his temple, develop a heart of worship that says, Lord, you are everything to me and I give you everything.
[00:36:10] All that I have is yours.
[00:36:13] It reflects the heart of the Father because that's what Scripture says in Romans that he who did not even spare his own son yet gave him up for us has given us all things, all things.
[00:36:22] Your God is a giver and because your God is a giver you can trust in him.
[00:36:27] So at the beginning of this series our pastor said that trust is tangible and as we get ready to bring this offering in just a couple weeks it's an opportunity for us to tangibly demonstrate our trust in him and as you seek his face
[00:36:41] and He speaks to you.
[00:36:42] And as you obey His voice and surrender, God stirs something up in your spirit that I can say, I'm a house of worship.
[00:36:50] This is my heart of worship, God.
[00:36:52] I live for you.
[00:36:53] I honor you.
[00:36:54] I worship you.
[00:36:56] You are my Lord.
[00:36:57] You are my God.
[00:36:59] So that's the invitation before us in just a couple weeks.
[00:37:02] I feel like I said everything I was anointed to say today.
[00:37:05] Can we thank God for that word, if it was a word of instruction for you?
[00:37:13] Who wants a heart of worship, stand up on your feet for just a moment.
[00:37:18] I want to give an invitation right now.
[00:37:22] To someone who needs to make a decision to give God the most important thing that you'll ever give to him, and that's your life.
[00:37:28] The amazing thing about the gospel and the amazing thing about his grace is that he's done it all for you.
[00:37:34] All you have to do is give him your yes.
[00:37:37] If you'll receive the gift of his salvation and grace by faith today, the scriptures say that he'll come into your life and he'll make you a new creation.
[00:37:44] Jesus died so that you could be forgiven, and he rose again so that you could have life.
[00:37:49] And maybe you're here or maybe you're joining us at one of our campuses right now or watching online and you've never made the decision to surrender your life to Jesus.
[00:37:57] Y'all, this wasn't a message just about giving.
[00:37:59] This was a message about surrender.
[00:38:01] And today is your day of salvation.
[00:38:03] God wants to make you new.
[00:38:05] With heads bowed and eyes closed all over this place, I want to lead you in a prayer, if that's you today, if you want to make a decision to make Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life.
[00:38:14] We're going to pray out loud together as a church family.
[00:38:17] for the benefit of those who are coming to God right now.
[00:38:20] Pray with me.
[00:38:20] Say, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.
[00:38:28] I believe he died.
[00:38:29] and Rose again to forgive my sin and give me life.
[00:38:34] I receive your grace by faith.
[00:38:38] Come into my life.
[00:38:39] Make me new.
[00:38:40] I'll follow you.
[00:38:42] Heads still bowed, eyes still closed.
[00:38:44] If you just prayed that prayer to begin a relationship with God today, when I count to three, I wanna ask you to shoot your hand up in the air, whether you're at this campus or another one, shoot your hand up in the air.
[00:38:53] We wanna celebrate what God has done in your heart today.
[00:38:56] One, two, three, shoot your hand up, hold it up high.
[00:38:58] When we're celebrating new beginnings around this room, online, let us know in the chat.
[00:39:04] We want to talk to you.
[00:39:05] We want to pray for you.
[00:39:09] Keep your hand up for just a moment.
[00:39:10] Our ushers are coming around with a Bible that we want to give you.
[00:39:13] Church, can we thank the Lord for those who made a decision to give their lives to Jesus today?
[00:39:23] That's one invitation today.
[00:39:26] But the other invitation is for some of you in this room to step into a new level of trust in God this year.
[00:39:32] In a couple weeks on December 14th, we're going to bring our year-end offering.
[00:39:35] We're going to get to come forward and bring a gift above and beyond that goes towards expansion and outreach as a church.
[00:39:41] But listen, you don't have to wait till then to obey the instruction the Lord gave you today.
[00:39:46] And if that word convicted you in any way or God was stirring something up in your heart, I want to encourage you to go home and have a conversation about what does it mean to honor the Lord in our wealth, to honor the Lord in our finances.
[00:39:57] And you can begin tithing today.
[00:39:59] That first 10% belongs to the Lord.
[00:40:02] It belongs to the Lord.
[00:40:03] On the way out, you're going to get one of these envelopes with the offering card inside.
[00:40:06] This is what you're going to bring back with you on December 14th in just a couple of weeks.
[00:40:11] And on this card, you can begin praying about a word that represents what you believe in God for.
[00:40:18] As you're seeking His face and asking God what He wants to do in and through your life, ask God to give you a word.
[00:40:24] I really believe if you ask Him, He'll speak something to you.
[00:40:27] Ask him for a word that represents what he wants to do in you or what he wants to do through you and write it down on this envelope and put it in a place as we go into this new year we want to believe God for what he spoke and as he speaks to you about what he's stirring up in your heart we get to also bring a gift an offering to him an offering to him to make space in our hearts to say god you are my lord you are my source you are my provider and my trust is in you so that's the invitation before us now he'll speak
[00:40:57] If you surrender, He'll stir.
[00:40:59] Amen.
[00:41:00] Can we thank the Lord together?
[00:41:07] Connect hands quickly with someone around you and then we'll dismiss.
[00:41:09] Connect hands, connect hands.
[00:41:14] So Father God, right now I pray for my brothers and my sisters all over this place, God.
[00:41:19] Many of us are facing circumstances that are difficult right now and hard right now.
[00:41:24] We don't always know how to make a way, but I thank you for the assurance of your word that tells us that you are with us.
[00:41:30] You are with us, God.
[00:41:31] Thank you that you're in it with us, fighting for us, God, and that you are the Lord of our lives and our trust is in you today.
[00:41:38] God, I pray for this church family, for every person under the sound of my voice, for every person who calls Elevation Church their home.
[00:41:44] I believe that you've set our church apart for such a time as this.
[00:41:48] I believe there's a mandate on this house to reach the nations with the hope of Jesus and I believe what we're standing in today is just the foundation not the finished product and I thank you God for the invitation to join our lives to your cause we attach our hearts to the cause of Christ as we give as we serve as we pray as we preach the gospel God we thank you for the blessing that flows that when we build your house
[00:42:12] I believe, God, that you are going to bless ours.
[00:42:15] So bless each home.
[00:42:16] Bless each family.
[00:42:18] Bless each individual.
[00:42:19] Bless each business.
[00:42:20] All in the mighty name of Jesus we pray.
