❓ What do these grades mean?
We do not issue this rating to attack the speaker, but to protect the listener. This ministry's overall teaching trend consistently deviates from sound doctrine. As per Romans 16:17, we identify these patterns so believers can guard their hearts.
🧐 Overview
Theological Verdict & Summary
Sermon Summary: A sermon exploring the tension between feeling 'cheated' by life's circumstances and trusting in God's sovereign 'choice,' yet fundamentally compromised by the introduction of extra-biblical revelations and coercive salvation mechanics.
Pastoral Analysis: While the sermon attempts to offer pastoral comfort to those feeling displaced or struggling with hidden sins, it is critically flawed. The core message is undermined by the assertion of direct, audible whispers from the Holy Spirit regarding mundane tasks, the use of Word of Faith 'verbal magic' in prayer, and a synergistic approach to salvation that demands specific verbal formulas for forgiveness. These errors shift the congregation's trust from the objective Word of God to subjective experiences and human effort.
Biblical Parallel (Archetype): Thyatira — The sermon exhibits active heresy through the integration of Montanist claims of new revelation, Word of Faith verbal magic, and synergistic soteriology. This represents a fundamental deviation from biblical orthodoxy, replacing the sufficiency of Scripture and monergistic grace with subjective mystical experiences and human-coerced salvation.
Big Idea: You have not been cheated; you have been chosen by God to be the instrument of His purpose in your current circumstances, whether you are hiding a hidden ailment or feeling displaced from your original plans. [00:55:25 ▶️ 📄]
📖 How they Handle Scripture & Jesus
- Primary Text: 2 Kings 5
- Usage Classification: Thematic
- Text-to-Talk Ratio: Moderate
- Pulpit Decorum: ❌ FAIL - The use of coercive language regarding heaven and hell, combined with the manipulation of emotions through fear of missing out on divine favor, violates pastoral decorum and biblical ethics.
✝️ Christological Focus: Moralistic/Imitative
"Christ is presented primarily as the object of a transactional prayer for forgiveness, rather than the sole mediator of grace. The focus is on human action (speaking life, praying a prayer) rather than Christ's finished work."

🧭 Biblical Alignment Dashboard
Overall Verdict: Fundamentally in Error
| Category | Status | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Gospel Presentation | ❌ FAIL | The Gospel Engine is compromised. The report indicates a failure in the core Gospel message, specifically through the introduction of Synergistic Soteriology, which teaches that salvation is contingent upon human verbal confession rather than divine grace alone. |
| Soteriology | ❌ FAIL | The sermon teaches that salvation and forgiveness are achieved through a specific verbal prayer and human volition, directly contradicting the doctrine of Monergism and Sola Fide. |
| Bibliology | ❌ FAIL | The sermon elevates subjective, extra-biblical 'whispers' to the level of divine revelation, violating the sufficiency and finality of Scripture. |
| Hermeneutic | ❌ FAIL | Interpretation of circumstances is driven by mystical intuition and direct revelation rather than exegesis of the biblical text. |
| Theology Proper | ⚠️ WEAK | The doctrine of God's sovereignty is undermined by the implication that human speech can manipulate spiritual reality (Word of Faith) and that God's will is revealed through subjective whispers rather than His Word. |
| Sacramentology | ✅ PASS | No specific sacramental errors were detected in the provided reports. |
| Confessional Depth | ❌ SHALLOW | The sermon relies heavily on anecdotal evidence, emotional appeals, and subjective experiences rather than grounding its theology in established biblical doctrine or confessional standards. |
⚙️ The Core Gospel Framework
Why it matters for the final verdict: A complete Gospel framework protects a sermon from becoming man-centered. If a preacher gives commands for good behavior but leaves out the grace and atonement of the Gospel, it often results in a 🔴 Critical or 🟠 Major error for Moralism (teaching human self-improvement rather than reliance on Christ). However, if these Gospel elements are missing simply because the pastor is preaching a highly focused, practical message to mature believers (e.g., instructions on biblical marriage), our system applies a "Safe Harbor" pardon, graciously reducing the omission to a 🟡 Minor error.
❌ The Law And Wrath: Not observed in the sermon.
❌ Total Depravity And Inability: Not observed in the sermon.
❌ Active Obedience Of Christ: Not observed in the sermon.
❌ The Cross And Atonement: Not observed in the sermon.
⚠️ Theological Concerns
🔴 Critical Subjective Authority / Montanism
Root Cause: Montanism
"the holy spirit whispered to her and said you're not just babysitting you get the privilege to share and shape the souls of the little humans being so that these women grow up to be mighty women of God... the Holy Spirit said you have not been cheated you have been chosen" [00:53:51 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor asserts that the Holy Spirit audibly told the woman she was 'shaping souls' and 'not just babysitting,' and later that she had 'not been cheated, but chosen.'
Why It's Dangerous: This elevates subjective, internal experiences to the level of divine revelation, bypassing the sufficiency of Scripture and leading believers to trust feelings over the objective Word of God.
Biblical Correction: John 16:13-14 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
🔴 Critical Pastoral Abuse / Coercive Evangelism
Root Cause: Coercive Evangelism
"Are you going to avoid them in heaven too? Are you going to make heaven with that bitterness in your heart?" [01:27:31 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor asks, 'Are you going to avoid them in heaven too? Are you going to make heaven with that bitterness in your heart?'
Why It's Dangerous: This weaponizes the doctrine of heaven and hell to manipulate emotions and force repentance, violating the biblical principle that God's goodness leads to repentance, not fear.
Biblical Correction: Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
🔴 Critical Synergistic Soteriology
Root Cause: Synergism
"If you need to ask God to forgive you for whatever sin in your life, ask him now. If you need to turn back to him because you're backslidden and you're away from God. Ask him right now. Tell him, God, I believe in your son, Jesus, and I ask you to forgive me right now." [01:28:21 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor states, 'If you need to ask God to forgive you... ask him now... Tell him, God, I believe in your son, Jesus, and I ask you to forgive me right now.'
Why It's Dangerous: This teaches that salvation is a transaction dependent on human volition and a specific verbal formula, denying the monergistic work of God in regeneration.
Biblical Correction: Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
🔴 Critical Montanism / Word of Faith
Root Cause: Word of Faith
"we speak life father god we speak peace peace in this mind father god in the name of jesus supernatural we thank you father god lord we baptize him in the name of jesus in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit father oh hallelujah devil you have no place we speak life and life more abundantly" [01:37:42 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor prays, 'we speak life father god we speak peace... we speak life and life more abundantly.'
Why It's Dangerous: This implies that human speech has inherent creative power to alter spiritual reality, a hallmark of Word of Faith theology that usurps divine sovereignty.
Biblical Correction: Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
🟠 Major Charismatic Mysticism / Extra-Biblical Revelation
Root Cause: Charismatic Mysticism
"the holy spirit whispered to her and said you're not just babysitting you get the privilege to share and shape the souls of the little humans being so that these women grow up to be mighty women of God... the Holy Spirit once again whispered to her, you're not just babysitting. You're making sure that a marriage stays intact and has strength and passion and love." [00:53:51 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor claims the Holy Spirit whispered that the babysitter was 'making sure that a marriage stays intact' and 'shaping souls.'
Why It's Dangerous: This violates the Reformed doctrine of the sufficiency of Scripture by suggesting God provides new, situational guidance through internal voices rather than through the completed canon.
Biblical Correction: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
🟠 Major NAR Decreeing / Verbal Magic
Root Cause: New Apostolic Reformation
"we speak life father god we speak peace peace in this mind father god in the name of jesus supernatural we thank you father god lord we baptize him in the name of jesus in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit father oh hallelujah devil you have no place we speak life and life more abundantly" [01:37:42 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor prays, 'we speak life... we speak peace... we speak life and life more abundantly.'
Why It's Dangerous: This distorts the orthodox understanding of prayer by treating it as a mechanism of verbal magic rather than a humble submission of the believer's will to God's sovereign and good pleasure.
Biblical Correction: James 4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
🟠 Major Violation of the Boundary of Divine Leading and Assurance
Root Cause: Mysticism
"the holy spirit whispered to her and said you're not just babysitting you get the privilege to share and shape the souls of the little humans being so that these women grow up to be mighty women of God... the Holy Spirit said you have not been cheated you have been chosen" [00:53:51 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor claims the Holy Spirit whispered to the babysitter that she was 'chosen' rather than 'cheated.'
Why It's Dangerous: This substitutes subjective mystical experience for the objective Word of God as the basis for assurance and guidance.
Biblical Correction: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
🟠 Major Violation of the Boundary of Common Grace and Sanctification of Ordinary Life
Root Cause: Mysticism
"you're not just babysitting. You're making sure that a marriage stays intact and has strength and passion and love." [00:55:04 ▶️ 📄]
The Belief/Behavior: The pastor claims the Holy Spirit whispered that babysitting was 'making sure that a marriage stays intact.'
Why It's Dangerous: This implies that the Holy Spirit whispers specific theological destinies for mundane tasks rather than working through the ordinary means of grace and the church.
Biblical Correction: Ephesians 5:15-16 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

[00:38:36] amen anything else israel you want to share anything you you good okay so my nephew israel is single and available ladies and uriah turned 14 yesterday so no the 19th and i was at friday friday so anyways thank you guys for being here amen amen amen all right so that was one thing
[00:39:06] i had to get out of my head a couple of other things is that um number one like i said i'm a little ocd and so youth i'm going to come and talk to you because i know the adults don't do any of
[00:39:18] this stuff right and so one thing i need you to do is please please please as much as possible first check parents check to make sure your kids that were six to eleven is sitting next to you
[00:39:30] right okay that's for them then back to the youth um please stay in your seats let's try not to move around as much as possible because i'm i'm not as thick-skinned as pastor so when i see people get
[00:39:45] up and walk around then i think that you're you're not interested in what i have to say okay and the second thing is please don't talk to each other because the same thing i think oh
[00:39:58] you're not interested in what i'm having to say and so because i'm a little ocd then i start getting in my head thinking that god is not sharing what he wants to share okay so i'm just
[00:40:09] being very vulnerable and truthful with you because um i just have to have things a little bit in order amen so are we good amen amen again amen well happy father's day to all the men who
[00:40:23] men who are dads granddads i'm going to stick to my notes because if i don't i got a lot of cup to cover and like i said i'll i'll drift off so i'm going to really stick to my notes
[00:40:33] um who are dads granddads bonus dads adopted dads all father figures uncles brothers etc amen Pastor and I, it's kind of funny.
[00:40:47] Oh, okay.
[00:40:48] Pastor and I, it's kind of funny about Mother's Day, Father's Day, because we have this little inside joke that goes on.
[00:40:57] So I said, Pastor and I have fun with Mother's Day and Father's Day.
[00:41:01] You see, right after becoming empty nesters, we were driving to our house one Sunday after church in Albuquerque.
[00:41:09] On the way home, there was a retail sporting goods store, Michael saw a sign, right? Golf clubs on sale. Babe, would you like me to buy you a set of golf clubs for Mother's Day? No, babe. First of all, I'm not your mother. And second of all, you don't
[00:41:32] need to buy me anything. And second of all, I don't play golf. But if you would like to stop at the store, we can, right? Well, the end of the story is like this. We walked out of the store with
[00:41:49] a set of left-handed golf clubs. By the way, I'm not left-handed. When our children called to wish me a happy Mother's Day, Michael was so excited to tell them what he gave me for Mother's Day,
[00:42:04] a new set of clubs. So ever since then, we've had so much fun with Mother's Day, Father's Day.
[00:42:10] on mother's day i'm like oh what are we getting you so it is father's day so it's very appropriate for me to say oh what are you getting me today amen let's stand church for the reading of the
[00:42:25] word we're going to turn to if you got real bibles in my version that's that i'm going to be reading out of my bible here is a little bit different what you're going to see up on the
[00:42:35] screen so if you didn't bring a bible there is uh information upon the screen but if you do have a real bible turn to luke 4 27 and it says and many lepers were in israel in the time of elisha
[00:42:49] the prophet and none of them was cleansed except naaman and the the syrian naaman the syrian and then we're going to flip to second kings second kings chapter five well i'm going to read one
[00:43:07] through 3 and then I'm going to jump I think down through 9 through 9 through 14 or something like that okay now Naaman commander of the army of the king of Syria was a great and honorable man in the
[00:43:20] eyes of his master because because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria he was also a mighty man of valor but a leper and the Syrians had gone out on raids and had brought back captive a young
[00:43:37] girl from the land of Israel she waited on Naaman's wife verse 3 then she said to her miss her mistress if only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria for the whole for he would heal
[00:43:53] him of his leprosy and Naaman went in and told his master saying thus and thus said the girl who is for the land of Israel then we're going to drop down to nine then Naaman went with his
[00:44:08] horse and chariot and he stood at the door of Elijah's home and Elijah sent a messenger to him saying go and wash in the Jordan seven times and your flesh shall be restored to you and you shall
[00:44:24] be cleaned then dropped down to 14 so he went down and dipped seven times of the jordan jordan according to the saying of the man of god and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a child
[00:44:40] and he was clean amen lord jesus i thank you for your word i thank you father that it is living and that is active is sharper than any two-edged sword.
[00:44:52] Lord, I pray that in these few moments together that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart will be acceptable to you.
[00:45:00] Father, I pray that any assignments that the enemy may have today, either to keep me from having clarity of thought and clarity of words.
[00:45:08] Father, any assignment would be canceled in Jesus' name and by his blood that has been shed on Calvary.
[00:45:16] Speak, Lord.
[00:45:17] we came for a word today amen and amen you may be seated amen i want to share a story about a young lady from texas she was in her mid-30s a beautiful woman vivacious in personality she was engaged as
[00:45:33] much as she could in her in her church life single late young lady who had a lot of time on her hands and she loved investing that time into young people she really enjoyed babysitting now hold
[00:45:45] on guys is not just a woman's thing okay you'll get there in her 20s and early 30s she was on an upward moment mobile track in the company that she worked at she worked in a corporate office
[00:45:57] very very successful and headed to the pinnacle at the company i mean she was doing very very well she was making a lot of money she had a lot of ambition and dreams in terms of her position
[00:46:12] in that particular company. She was doing well. She was excited about it. One day, though, she began to feel the poking and prodding of the Lord. She wasn't sure at first. It just felt little unrest. For some reason, she began feeling like she wasn't supposed to be there anymore,
[00:46:33] and it didn't make sense. She was making very good money, and her paycheck, of course, was what it was right all the people at work looked at her with approval they respected her she had already
[00:46:46] been told that she was on the upward track she knew she was destined for great things there but there was this unrest and so she sought the Lord about that unrest she was a woman who wanted
[00:47:00] to follow God she wanted to do what he had asked her to do she wanted to be in his will and so she kept talking to the lord about the unrest that she was feeling why she didn't feel cozy
[00:47:15] and comfortable there anymore she didn't quite get it but through confirmation that she received from the messages taught on sunday at her local church and in her own personal bible study also wise mentors and friends who helped confirm that over time it was confirmed that it seems to be
[00:47:33] the leading of the lord the only thing was that she didn't know where or what where or what she was headed to has that ever happened to you before right don't know where you're going but god is
[00:47:52] doing a little proking and a probing right so like the lord it said um so has that ever happened to you before to find yourself feeling unrest in one place like the lord is pointing you in a direction
[00:48:05] but it doesn't add up it doesn't make sense at all god has not given you specific gps coordinates and you don't know what the end result is going to be but you know if god is leading you elsewhere
[00:48:21] then where she was going or where you are going will be better than where you are now so she just stepped out in faith and she left her very successful job waiting on god's assignment
[00:48:36] so in the interim while waiting because we just don't want to stay stuck right we don't want to just stop and not seek the lord anymore so in the interim while waiting she started doing what she
[00:48:48] loved which was babysitting she would relieve some parents to go on some dates every now and then she thought i'll do what i love she was fully invested in the task she would show up not only
[00:49:04] to babysit but she would show up with the casserole dish in her hand that she had made for the family so the family so that the mom didn't have to worry about it she would show up with the
[00:49:16] prepared bible study right she knew she was going and she's going to be you know ministering to these young kiddos and so she wanted to to invest in them the word of god she would show up with
[00:49:29] the prepared bible study with all the illustration necessary to engage in the kids does that sound like some of your teachers i hope so and we fish and right she wanted to make sure that they knew
[00:49:41] some bible verses before she left that she even would put some of the bible verses to songs on occasion so that they would have it ringing in their heads so the two months dovetailed into
[00:49:55] six months which dovetailed into a year still she's waiting on god's assignment and she's still babysitting. Then the year passed into two years. Now she's really trying to figure out where God is and why his assignment for her has not materialized. At this point, she's a little
[00:50:17] frustrated. Does this sound like anybody's story? She's a little bit evangelistic, evangelist thank you ticked off because god's taking his time right anybody know what i'm talking about she's frustrated and honestly she's feeling a bit cheated because she has done what
[00:50:42] she thought god has directed her to do she had obeyed god she trusted him to take her to the next to the next phase the next step the next portion of her journey but she is stuck in the
[00:50:56] little interim of space and she can't figure out why she is there so she became very authentic with her prayer life and her communication with God God are you serious right now right do you ever get to that point really God really right I've been trusting you and here I am
[00:51:21] you don't talk to God like that come on now you're in the house of the Lord be truthful Lord I have been babysitting for two years surely you have something more for me Lord I've got to
[00:51:38] be honest with you and tell you that I feel cheated I was on the upward mobile path my ambitions and dreams I can see them back there but you steered me in a different direction
[00:51:52] and this makes no sense to me God I'm frustrated and irritated and I feel cheated Lord I'm going to give you lord i'm going to ask you to give me some clarity i don't know what's going on
[00:52:08] but i need you to either change my circumstances or change my heart because this doesn't look like what i thought it would just a couple of days later she had her babysitting assignment that had already been planned to watch the four girls that she had been babysitting for quite
[00:52:29] some time she walked up to the front door the front door was a wood door but it has some glass panels in it so she could kind of see through the blurred glass panels she said when she walked up
[00:52:42] to the door with her casserole in her hand she rang the doorbell actually i don't know if i told you guys but this is a whole a true story of this young lady so with her casserole dish in her hand
[00:52:56] And she rang the doorbell, and she could see already the four little girls racing toward the doors.
[00:53:02] Smiles on their face, enthusiastic because she was coming to their house that night.
[00:53:08] She said that happened every time that she came.
[00:53:11] But this time, she saw those smiles differently.
[00:53:16] They were eager to be in her presence.
[00:53:18] She saw that there was so much meaning behind the fact that these four girls actually wanted to be with her.
[00:53:24] that they were expecting and anticipating whatever she was going to bring through the door.
[00:53:30] And when the door opened, they immediately burst out with one of the songs that she had taught them.
[00:53:36] The verses from Scripture through the songs spilling out of these young little girls' mouths as they quoted and sung one after the other, rehearsing back to her everything that she had poured into them during the times that she had spent with them.
[00:53:51] she said it was while they were singing and giggling and jumping all around her casserole dish still in her hand the holy spirit whispered to her and said you're not just babysitting you get the privilege to share and shape the souls of the little humans being so
[00:54:13] being that these women sorry you get the privilege to help shape the souls of little humans being so that these women grow up to be mighty women of God.
[00:54:27] About that time, she's standing there with her casserole dish in hand.
[00:54:30] The mom, who had gotten all dressed up for the date that she was going to have with her husband, came racing through the living room at the last moment to grab a few things before her husband picked her up.
[00:54:41] When the mom saw the casserole dish in her hand for the first time, she actually noticed the look of relief on that mom's face.
[00:54:52] that she had provided through this little casserole dish a bit of solace and peace in the life of another woman that she had taken a little bit of the load off her plate. And the Holy Spirit
[00:55:04] once again whispered to her, you're not just babysitting. You're making sure that a marriage stays intact and has strength and passion and love. She said it was a sweet evening with those girls and then she got back to the car to leave and she said one final time the Holy Spirit whispered to
[00:55:25] her and said something she will never forget the Holy Spirit said you have not been cheated you have been chosen second Kings chapter 5 has a word for everybody here today who feels cheated because you signed up for this job it wasn't supposed to be this hard when you said yes to
[00:55:54] the dress and walked down the aisle and said i do to that guy it wasn't supposed to be that hard when you first gave birth to that baby you did not know that 10 years 15 years 21 years later
[00:56:10] this would be the drama that you'd be going through in your relationship with that child you did not know that you would be on the job for this long it wasn't supposed to be your assignment
[00:56:22] over this much of your life. You didn't know that you would be walking in this season of singleness for this long. You didn't know. You feel cheated because you said yes to God. You have obeyed to
[00:56:38] the best of your abilities, not perfectly, but at least perfect purposely. And you, like her, you feel like you've been cheated, irritated, a little bit frustrated, if you're being honest today with god because you've said yes but it's not what you thought yes would mean second kings
[00:57:02] five starts by telling us of a captain in the army of syria he worked closely with the king his name was naaman the verse is basically a resume in big bold bright highlighted letters we see his resume spirit is clearly spelled out there are accolades and things he's appreciated
[00:57:21] at four we learned that he is a notable man who has a lot of people who admire him this first verse reads like we would like any of our resumes to read just in this one simple verse of chapter
[00:57:35] five we find out he's successful he's a captain of the army he leads troops into battle and they emerge victoriously but not only is he successful he is also well represented because he doesn't just lead his subordinates he's respected by them they honor them him they esteem him they find joy
[00:57:58] in beating being sorry they find joy in following his leadership not only is he successful and respected but he's also celebrated all around him highly regard all or all those around him highly regard him slow down stellar his name is known his level of favor with those around him
[00:58:22] those under him and those that work side by side with him is at full capacity in fact he is so celebrated and so adored that even the king praises him for his work and for his worth
[00:58:36] not only is he successful and not only respected not only is he celebrated but he's also feared because enemies and foes that shake their head shake in their boots when they hear his name he's a mighty man of valor the text says he knows how to make sure that his adversaries are taken
[00:58:56] down this man has accolades he has appreciation he has notoriety he has won the affections of all who know him his biograph his biograph reads like the finest of resumes but down amongst all of
[00:59:16] those accolades there's four there's fine print in the resume there are five little small words that change the trajectory of the entire story but he is a leper just because they are minimal just because they come to the tell end of the verse don't let them seem insignificant to you
[00:59:39] he is a leper and in that age leprosy was a devastating diagnosis there was no cure it would it would so incapacitate you over time it would incapacitate you causing the nerve endings particularly in your extremities to become numb so they could not feel and could not feel pain
[01:00:02] and damaged again and again fingers and toes would need to be amputated or they would become dislodged you would lose your extremities your skin would become filled with boils sores eventually the fact that you have leprosy would completely incapacitate you and potentially
[01:00:20] kill you the thing about leprosy even though it's the most distinguishing characteristic really of his life it means life or death that leprosy is not highlighted it's just tucked away and saved for the last little line and yet this leprosy could actually be the death of him
[01:00:43] he fights it at home trying to figure out what a way to keep proof of it covered so that no one knows it plagues his thoughts during the day wondering if anybody realizes how far gone it has
[01:01:01] gone he is a leper and it is downplayed amongst his accolades and amongst all his notoriety and in this room right now the tragedy is that you and i have learned how to highlight and insinuate all of our accolades and all the things we want people to see and read and hear
[01:01:28] about us but in the fine print of our lives just like Naaman he is not the only leper in the room we have hidden ailments we have hidden diseases of the heart in our mind emotionally and spiritually
[01:01:46] and they're sucking the life blood out of us there's anger that is so festering on the inside of you because of what was done to you or the betrayal that you face that the anger is now
[01:01:58] creating a bitterness that is making you harden and numb so that you can't have any healthy relationships in your life any longer. There is pride that keeps humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God. Maybe there is a passionless marriage that is inside the four walls of your
[01:02:17] home. Nobody at church knows because you both have learned to put on the smile and to hold hands for the two hours that you're in church we've done that many times right being honest right oh we're
[01:02:33] good we're good hey brother oh i better get back to my notes okay but when you get home there's no passion there's no peace there's no intimacy or maybe it's fear that is crippling you in your
[01:02:46] heart or lack of peace or financial instability or an addiction a habit of your life that nobody else knows because you've learned how to conceal it and cover it up when you're outside the four
[01:02:58] walls of your home. But when you're at home, there's a lapse in your integrity that nobody knows about. The thing about leprosy is that you can only hide it for so long. Amen? You can only
[01:03:14] leave it as the small print, the fine print of your life for so long before eventually leprosy always leaks out we don't highlight that because you know let instagram tell our story the meals we cook are great they look wonderful all the children that we have raised they are splendid
[01:03:39] little angels let our social media presence tell it the house that we live in is all a pristine castle. And man, the man that I married, he's a knight in shining armor. Oh, and the business we
[01:04:01] started, let's not forget it. It's flourishing in every way. And the smile on our glowing, perfectly lit faces in our selfies relay a story of ease and peace and wellness.
[01:04:18] But I'm afraid, y'all, that underneath it all, there are some lepers in the room this morning.
[01:04:22] that there is an ailment in your heart in your heart and you won't let anybody in did I tell you this was going to be a rough one nobody knows the things that you're really struggling with
[01:04:37] and listen I find it interesting that Naaman even as a leper is still working not only is he still a working captain of the army but he's still working in close proximity to the king
[01:04:49] that means not only that he is a leper but he is a functional leper you've learned so cleverly how to fool the people around you that you're able to still function at your job from eight to five you're able to still get yourself out of bed and function as a
[01:05:13] mom to your two or three or five or six children that you have you're able to function as a husband or a wife you're able to still hang out with friends co-workers church family and plaster a
[01:05:25] smile on our face to act like you're content in this season of your life. You have learned how to be a functional leper. You don't have to deal with the real stuff that's going on in your heart
[01:05:36] and in your mind. The stuff that makes all the tears fall down from your eyes late at night when nobody knows that you're crying those tears or that we're staying up extra minutes, extra hours
[01:05:47] as we wrestle with the leprosy that we know is there.
[01:05:54] The tragedy is that we're not only gotten good at fooling everybody else, but we've also gotten good at fooling ourselves into thinking that we are healthy and healthier than we actually are.
[01:06:12] But that leprosy, it really is the defining thing that could be the death of us.
[01:06:18] just like it could be for naaman in the end of the chapter his story his name is known not so much for the accolades not so much for what he what he's appreciated for not so much for the
[01:06:33] success he achieved the diplomas on the wall the people who applaud us and appreciate us it's what he does or does not do with the leprosy that really matters at the end There was a movie that Michael and I watched, I can't even recall it, I can't remember the name of it, but it was about a train wreck.
[01:06:56] And multiple people were rushed to the hospital for, hospital, hospital, sometimes my tongue just, hospital for treatment.
[01:07:10] there were two there were two friends that were traveling together and one of the ladies was severely hurt and the other one only had a few scratches at the hospital the doctors and nurses kept telling the friend that only had a few scratches that she needed to get checked out
[01:07:29] she refused and said oh no no no please don't waste any time on me i'm fine please please please take care of my friend just take care of my friend when the doctors finally brought her friend out of
[01:07:44] surgery and the young lady was able to see her friend and she was told how the how successful the surgery went and her friend was going to live the young lady was so relieved and was so thankful
[01:07:56] to the doctors and the nurses and in a moment's notice the friend who has been healthy the entire day collapsed to the floor. Her eyes glazed over as nurses and doctors ran in. They checked her
[01:08:12] pulse and they realized they could not find a pulse and her heart had stopped beating because the entire time she had eternal damage that was bleeding out. And because she did not let anybody attend to her and didn't attend to herself, she lost her life. Today, church, I'm asking you
[01:08:34] if you have checked yourself recently.
[01:08:38] I know you're worried about her and I know you're worried about him and the people in your house and the kids and even the folks in our church and everybody else who's got stuff that they need you to invest in.
[01:08:52] I'm here this morning to ask you, is there leprosy that's bleeding something that you need to contend with?
[01:09:02] An addiction that you need to deal with?
[01:09:04] strongholds that need to be stepped away from, hatred that needs to be dissolved. Do you need the healing power of Jesus Christ today? Today is the day to deal with yourself before time runs out.
[01:09:22] Naaman was completely successful while being completely sick. He was outwardly victorious while suffering from the most tragic of vices. He was publicly applauded while being privately agonized over his leprosy luke chapter 7 jesus said about the pharisees he said woe to you
[01:09:44] you are clean on the outside but you are full of filth on the inside today is the day for us to look inward and not leave in the fine small print of our resumes the things that really matters
[01:10:01] everything hinges on what naaman will choose to do with this leprosy the same for us today the reminder of this narrative hinges on the outcome of this element either it will consume him and be the death of him or it will bring him out into the open and give it to god through the
[01:10:22] prophet elijah so that it can be a demonstration of the power of god in our lives the tragedy of this portion of scripture the part that will go down in the annuals of history is that a man with
[01:10:35] that uncurable disease either gets healed by God or he does not. The chapter could end by saying there was a man named Naaman who had a problem and kept his problem. Or the chapter could end as it
[01:10:53] does in the verse by saying, and he was made clean. What we know about Naaman is based solely on what he did with his leprosy do you understand that for generations to come the story will be told
[01:11:09] about you from your daughters and your sons and your grandchildren and your great-grandchildren and they will talk about yes the things that you accomplished the things that you achieved but the most stunning thing the most important thing the memorable thing the story they will tell
[01:11:26] is about the fact that they remember when we were once lost, but now we are found. That we were once blind, but now we see. That they will take and tell the stories about how there were ashes in our lives
[01:11:55] and our God made beautiful things out of those messy places. That's the story that people will tell that's what leaves the mark it's not what we do with our leprosy it's whether we leave it
[01:12:14] hidden or concealed behind the veneers that we so perfectly put on social media profiles or whether we just bring it out to the open and say here it is here's the real deal god would you do business with us we get to be the one to change the trajectory of our entire lives
[01:12:39] the best part of the story we still haven't covered is in verse three we find there's a little captive girl a girl who has been dispatched from her ambitions her goals her dreams the comfort of her home she has been set in a place where she feels uncomfortable where she does
[01:12:58] she doesn't want to be it's not the plan that she had for her life and in that place she becomes the instrument that God uses to point somebody to the one true God. I came to tell somebody today
[01:13:13] who feels cheated because you're trying to figure out how your trajectory in life that you had planned is not the career path or the direction that you had thought. How did you end up on this
[01:13:24] job? The marriage that you had planned in your mind, how did you end up this sort of a union?
[01:13:32] The relationship with your child that you first envisioned, it doesn't look anything like it.
[01:13:39] Your financial situation, it wasn't supposed to look like this.
[01:13:45] But some way, the Lord has allowed it to look like this, and you failed to cheat it.
[01:13:53] I came to tell you that most often we are displaced from our dreams to His.
[01:14:00] Oftentimes, it looks like captivity.
[01:14:03] oftentimes it doesn't look like anything you planned you you feel uncomfortable and you wish you were back home and you may not know until centuries later in luke chapter 4 when jesus is telling this story to make sure jesus has shown up on the scenes and in his own words he wants to
[01:14:23] authenticate his deity and he reaches back to a story in the old testament to make sure all the people in the new testament know that he who is who he says he is and he has come to do exactly
[01:14:37] what he says he's going to do the little captive girl could have never known that she was the key to the story and i'm here to tell you that you tell you that you just and i'm here to tell you
[01:14:55] displaced captive woman or girl you're the key to the story if he has not released you from that job then you stay on that job and be the light in the midst of the darkness if you are still in
[01:15:10] the neighborhood and you haven't been able to move you can't find the right place anywhere else and so there you are in the apartment in the home you can't wait to break from the reason you're still there is because you're going to be the light in the midst of the darkness
[01:15:28] you are the key to the people in your sphere of influence knowing that there is a god in israel that there is a god who is able to perform healing in their lives if the lord hasn't let you switch
[01:15:42] churches that means you're not supposed to switch churches you're supposed to be planted in the house of God where he has put you so that you can be in the midst of the unity of believers that are
[01:15:54] serving him wherever God has planted you he intends for you to be even if you feel cheated you should know you have not been cheated you have been chosen you are the one little captive
[01:16:10] girl you have been chosen by God to be exactly where you are stay where you are not cheated with your chin raised high knowing exactly that i've been chosen i need to let you know that that
[01:16:25] young lady in texas that i shared with you at the beginning of the story about 3 a.m in the morning when she was 36 years old on her way to a conference she was headed she was in a head-on
[01:16:39] collision and in an instant she went to see jesus the good news about this young lady was that before she saw Jesus face to face she knew that she had not been cheated but she had been chosen
[01:16:52] so today I want to pray for those of you who find yourself in one or both of these categories first either you have leprosy you have been dealing with there is an ailment in your heart
[01:17:09] or in your mind or in in your marriage in your integrity there is a lapse of integrity there is something that is off kilter and you have gotten so good at covering it up but you want to come
[01:17:22] clean today so that you can be known not as the person who carried an ailment your whole life but as the person who handed that ailment over to Jesus and watched him do something with it
[01:17:33] make beautiful beautiful things out of those ashes the second group of you that I want to pray for it's any of you who are here today and you feel cheated i want to pray that the lord by his spirit
[01:17:48] helps you today to see things from his perspective when you leave today so that you know you have not been cheated but you have been chosen so let's all stand so if you fall into either of those
[01:18:05] categories there's a left there's a leprosy that needs healing in your life or there's a change of perspective that you want to leave here with we're going to pray this today so lord jesus i bring
[01:18:20] those of us standing starting with me all those that are standing here today to our feet father i pray right now in the matchless name of jesus christ for the leprosy that is eating away at us
[01:18:35] that is numbing us desensitizing us lord keep us from living to our full potential father i pray right now in jesus name that you would be that pray that you would be by your healing power pour out your grace and mercy upon every single heart i pray that marriages would
[01:18:59] be restored today father i pray that strongholds would be broken i pray that fear would be dissipated i pray that hate would be softened lord i pray that hardened hearts would be mended lord i pray that brokenness would be salvaged i pray that you would breathe life back into us
[01:19:22] lord i pray that we would no longer cover up that which needs to be exposed to the healing power of our great god and we thank you father that you not only sympathize with us in your humanity but
[01:19:35] that you can turn it around in your power and actually perform a healing miracle in our lives so i pray for healing in jesus name i pray for restoration resurrection and renewal in jesus name
[01:19:52] father i pray for those who are discouraged because they feel cheated today father god that they are honest with you right now father that father they feel irritated and frustrated because life as it is going is not how they thought it would be so i pray right now that you
[01:20:12] you displace discouragement off of their lives? Would you replace it with a cloak of encouragement in Jesus' name? Send them out of here with a holy contentment. Father, remembering that you are who you say you are and that you will accomplish through their lives exactly what you have said
[01:20:33] that you will accomplish. Lord, fit us with your glasses to see our situation through your perspectives and we will give you all the praise and all the glory and all the honor in jesus name
[01:20:51] everybody that agrees said amen come on lift your hands what a powerful word listen let it go
[01:21:24] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_05]
[01:21:24] there's an anointing there's an anointing right now for god to heal your heart there's an anointing right now for god to heal your heart it's eating you up inside and by letting it go you're not
[01:21:48] letting that person off the hook you see we think that if we hold on to that hatred it will protect us if you hold on to that into that unforgiveness that bitterness that envy that jealousy it will
[01:22:07] only destroy your life and the call and the cry this morning is to be obedient like haman you see The thing that Stella didn't cover was that Elijah told him to go dip himself in the River Jordan.
[01:22:32] There was a reason that they didn't drink the water.
[01:22:37] Because they didn't have the septic systems that we had.
[01:22:40] And everything, every waste that came down the streets ran into the river.
[01:22:45] And maybe God has told you what to do and you've questioned what God has told you to do.
[01:23:01] And you said that's not an easy thing, God.
[01:23:04] and this word this morning is fitly spoken for such a time as this that you need to begin to be obedient to what God is directing you the word that God has put in your heart
[01:23:16] and quit avoiding it and quit explaining it away and quit trying to justify your behavior and you need to give it to God and you need to become obedient to Him not for them but for you
[01:23:30] that God might use you to accomplish what he's called you to do.
[01:23:43] So release it.
[01:23:46] Give it to God.
[01:23:49] Let it go.
[01:23:50] Let it, leave it here today.
[01:23:52] Don't carry it with you.
[01:23:54] Leave it right where you're standing.
[01:23:55] Tell him, Father, we leave it here.
[01:24:08] I lay it down.
[01:24:10] I will not carry it anymore.
[01:24:13] It will not eat me from the inside out.
[01:24:16] I release it to you, Father.
[01:24:19] I come out of agreement with it, Father.
[01:24:22] i let it go father break the chains right now father break the chains of bondage that have held your people that have held your men that have held your women that have held father god
[01:24:38] families from doing what you've called them to do father father do not pass us over do not pass us over because of our disobedience father lord i ask for grace and mercy this morning for your people
[01:24:53] those that have Lord those that have refused to be obedient father Lord I ask for one more grace one more time of mercy father a second chance father God to be obedient to you as your shepherd
[01:25:10] ask tell you to let go of it and let God begin to use you in his way in what he's called you to do I praise you let it go right there where you're at let it go set it down on the floor in front of
[01:25:48] you set it down on the seat behind you and don't pick it up you're not letting them off the hook you're not letting them off the hook by holding on to your anger by holding on to the to the to the
[01:26:08] it becomes a root of bitterness in your life God is a God of second chances and here's your second chance every single person in here just tell him right where you're standing if it's God
[01:26:57] in your marriages, unforgiveness towards your husband, ladies, husbands, unforgiveness towards your wives, towards your children, towards your sons, towards your daughters, sons and daughters, towards your moms, towards your fathers, towards your brothers, towards your sisters in the Lord.
[01:27:31] Are you going to avoid them in heaven too? Are you going to make heaven with that bitterness in your heart? You see, the word of God says, if you can't love your brother and your sister,
[01:27:52] whom are seen. How can you love a God who is unseen? I'm trying to get you to a place where you can get your heart right with God. I don't care about them. That's not what this is
[01:28:15] about. It's not about letting them off the hook. It's about you and your relationship with God.
[01:28:21] If you need to ask God to forgive you for whatever sin in your life, ask him now. If you need to turn Turn back to him because you're backslidden and you're away from God.
[01:28:43] Ask him right now.
[01:28:46] Tell him, God, I believe in your son, Jesus, and I ask you to forgive me right now.
[01:29:01] You see the Holy Spirit's meeting with people all over this room.
[01:29:06] It's not an accident that you're here.
[01:29:09] It's not an accident that Stella brought this message.
[01:29:12] We didn't get together.
[01:29:14] She didn't.
[01:29:16] No, no, no.
[01:29:17] The Holy Spirit.
[01:29:20] The Holy Spirit, the same one that is convicting.
[01:29:25] condemning convicting your heart right now to let go of some things to get some sin out to confess some sin to lay some things down that you've been carrying oh honey you've been carrying a burden
[01:29:39] let it go give it to god god says oh jesus said my burden is light and my yoke is easy come unto me all who are who are heavy laden who are burdened and take upon you my yoke

[01:31:01] that can restore you that can renew you that'll take that burden off of you so Father I thank you for each and every person here today Father young and old alike Father God but you are healing right now

[01:40:20] week listen don't miss if you have any young people in your in your neighborhoods invite them next sunday our youth are going to take over the service and they're going to preach jesus amen so i'm just going to let her share while we go change good morning um i just want to thank our
[01:40:43] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_01]
[01:40:43] pastors for being so supportive over our youth. We give them a round of applause. And also for the parents who trusted us with your kids. They're awesome, man. But I want to be totally honest with
[01:40:59] you guys. I, for camp, you know, God seen my heart and where I was. But before camp, you know, I was kind of like oh you know I'm excited all these youth are going you know they're not and I pray
[01:41:14] that they receive something and but God I don't know about this leader that's going you know this group of leaders that are going and that week before we went um I was just like deep in my
[01:41:28] prayer like God you know my heart and you know where what I want for these kids but God shut me up real quick and he's like girl I've already set a plan I just need you to be obedient
[01:41:45] and trust me and that was what I was doing when I was up there like God I'm trusting you know and um it was just awesome um it's an awesome experience to see especially with the youth
[01:42:00] but not only the youth and I don't want to say there's because I want you guys to hear it next week from them but with my for me in my experience and what I seen I mean a lot of us leaders came together you know and it was just
[01:42:19] awesome like we had free time and just when we would get together those little conversations were huge whether it was with the leaders and the students it was huge. Um, you know, we had some that went up to the altar. They did, you know, just being in the
[01:42:36] spirit. There was some that, you know, they were the athletic ones and they did good out there running, you know, it was tiring. I'm not going to lie. I was super tired. Um, and then we had
[01:42:48] some that weren't as athletic, but man, they fellowshiped with the other kids from the other groups and I to me that's huge that's unity that's kingdom um and one of the experience well I have a couple one of them um so there was a night where I had a massive migraine right
[01:43:10] and I'm sitting there and I have like tears in my eyes because I when I get migraines guys I get migraines like this migraine was hitting me so hard like I've never had a seizure but like it
[01:43:23] made my body feel like it was going to go into a seizure. So I sat down on my chair and I just began to pray. And, um, well, I was praying, a little girl came up to me. She was from another,
[01:43:41] she was from another group and she came up to me and she was like, are you okay? And I'm like, yeah, yeah, you know, I'm okay. I just have a migraine. And she was like, okay. And, you know,
[01:43:52] and she just walked off. And so I bowed my head and I began to pray, pray again. You know, I know it was the enemy just trying to bring me down because service there is powerful guys. And so
[01:44:06] as I began to pray, she came back up to me and she brings me a water. And just that little gesture that she did was powerful. You know, I seen her take a few steps back and I can still see her
[01:44:20] through my is it peripheral vision whatever that's called I could still see her and she extends her hand towards me and just begins to pray and you know my my migraine started to like get better
[01:44:35] and better you know and all I can do is thank God because something so little like that or even just a youth to come up to me and start praying for me was huge um my second one I didn't really want to
[01:44:48] say until next week but it's something i do want to share is uh they had made an altar call i don't know you maybe it was the last night we were there and um you know because god has a purpose for
[01:45:02] everybody whether they're going to be a a cop a doctor whatever it may look like you know and he's going to use use them tremendously but they made this altar call for who feels like god is
[01:45:15] going to use them full time in ministry. And we had a few of the, we have, we had a few of our youth go up and they went to the altar and began to pray. Um, after a few minutes, they asked all
[01:45:29] the leaders to come up behind them and start praying for them. And so we began to pray for him and I happened and I ended up right there where Brian was how many of you guys know Brian
[01:45:43] and uh I began to pray for him and we all all leaders did you know we begin to pray for him and they we did that for a few minutes as well and then they asked the youth that were there
[01:45:57] that were felt they were called full-time to turn around and just pray for the leaders and the youth that were in front of them right so they began to pray and this crazy thing you know
[01:46:11] is the way God works is um they begin to pray and I was right in front of Brian and he was just praying and for that moment I had to like step back and just like because he had this anointing
[01:46:27] on him and God wants to use him tremendously and he gave me the vision and I just had to close my eyes and he was showing me Brian you know this kid he's a warrior guys he is a warrior and God
[01:46:45] wants to use him and um but a lot of that has I'm not saying we're the ones that are going to get him to heaven because we're not but the adults our kids need to see unity you know how can they
[01:47:03] have that if they don't know how it looks how can they share that if they don't know how unity looks these kids come back with their hearts on fire they all i know they all receive to something
[01:47:24] in different ways that we we don't even know they need us the adults the elders to have to be in that same place, to have our hearts on fire. They need us to fan that flame.
[01:47:43] It all starts here. We say, you know, get out of your comfort zone, get out of your comfort zone.
[01:47:49] But are you out of your comfort zone? To tell you the truth, I don't see it. They need us to worship the way God's called us to worship. He gave us the voice to shout. He gave us the voice to sing.
[01:48:03] when we sing those walls come crashing down we all have a song in our heart and only we can sing that to him but it's time that we quit playing those games we're all in and we're all out and
[01:48:19] I know for some of us it hits hard because like I said last week we get comfortable in our sin and so when someone brings something up to us I'm offended now like I'm comfortable where I'm at
[01:48:33] I don't want to get out of my comfort zone, but God is calling us to be that example to these kids right here.
[01:48:40] If they don't see that, how are they going to do it?
[01:48:43] And that goes for me, too.
[01:48:45] You know, that's God speaking to me.
[01:48:47] Like, there's things I need to let go of.
[01:48:50] You know, how can I tell my kids to do this or the youth in the class, you know?
[01:48:54] also being there you know I there was a morning where all the leaders had a meeting a breakfast together and it wasn't all the leaders it was the main leaders and in my mind I was like I can't do
[01:49:13] this you know I was telling some of the leaders like I'm scared like I'm feeling nervous I can't do this um and i was looking in my mind i was like looking for every excuse to be like well
[01:49:28] maybe i just act like i forgot you know i'm being honest maybe i forgot i didn't you know the devil was working me like you don't even have the education to be that leader i was sitting there
[01:49:42] like god how do you have me here being the main leader when i was just that little broken girl that was hiding under the desk that didn't want to speak to nobody I was under that desk scared
[01:49:56] and full of doubt like invisible like God how can you use me and all he said was just be obedient continue to be obedient and I will open every door and give you courage and strength
[01:50:12] and I even had to text pastor Tom oh pastor I'm like really out of my comfort zone right now will you please pray for me and he texts just take five ten minutes to yourself and just sit there
[01:50:27] and so I did that and I began to pray and and he's told me before you know God has revealed to me that God doesn't call the qualified he calls the obedient and he qualifies them and yeah give God
[01:50:46] a round of applause he's awesome when you let him work you know and it's just being obedient and and just letting God work in you guys as well and you know let's like I said our youth need us our
[01:51:00] hearts need to be right we need to be all in on fire because just like the kids need us you know we need each other to fan each other's flame and all of us be on fire because unity is where it
[01:51:13] starts. And next week, I want you guys, you know, if you guys have, um, sorry, pastor, I know I'm taking them. And I was like, I'm going to try to make it as short as I can. But at the same time,
[01:51:26] I was like, Holy Spirit, you do what you got to do. Um, but next week, if you guys have grandchildren, kids, you know, nieces and nephews, bring them over adults, bring them. I feel like
[01:51:41] God has already planned what's going to happen next week.
[01:51:44] Wear your orange to support our youth.
[01:51:46] Youth, pray throughout this week and ask God to use you guys because you guys are anointed and you guys have to just walk in that.
[01:51:56] Amen?
[01:51:56] Okay, I'll shut up now.
[01:52:01] [SPEAKER SPEAKER_05]
[01:52:01] Come on, give her a hand clap.
[01:52:03] You see what happens when we're obedient.
[01:52:11] This is church.
[01:52:14] It's when the next generation starts to stand up and lead.
[01:52:19] Come on.
[01:52:20] When you got a younger person than you preaching the gospel to you That's the way it's supposed to be be obedient to the word Man now here's what here's what I do want to say many of you gave
[01:52:34] Many of you sponsored these guys to go to camp. This is the fruits of your labor is that they come back on fire People out there watching us on livestream that supported the calendars. Thank you. I thank you
[01:52:51] Amen?
[01:52:53] You put your money in the right place.
[01:52:56] There's going to be a harvest.
[01:52:58] So thank you.
[01:53:00] All those that gave.
[01:53:01] All those that supported.
[01:53:03] Not a single kid had to say, I can't afford to go to camp.
[01:53:07] Everybody that wanted to go went.
[01:53:09] Amen?
[01:53:10] So I thank you as pastor for giving.
[01:53:13] I thank you for supporting.
[01:53:15] Now support them spiritually and get where you need to be with God.
